Unlike his three seniors, Zack can see things in a more positive way. To Angeal, asking for apple to best friend, is the abandoning the honor. To Zack, it is an normal thing to do. The wings, are seen as the proof of monsters to them, but Zack yearn for that wing, believing it is the wing of angel. Zack can see things in other way around, and it is his talent. Which is way a person like him can be a hero
Angeal cannot be a hero, as he become miserable after seeing the truth. Genesis cannot be a hero, as he choose to ran away. Even Sephiroth cannot be a hero, because he choose to destroy everything after seeing the truth. Only Zack, who is still able to smile after seeing the truth, can be a hero. Being able to still love the things around, and willing to protect them after learning the truth of life, is the essential requirement, of a hero.
And, this is the honor of Zack. Till the end of his life, he still persisted to advance with an heart seeking for the freedom, for that dream he never gave up, and for that girl named Aerith, who is still waiting for him.
Yeah Genesis is such a meme with how he keeps quoting LOVELESS I do love it, it never fails to make me laugh 😆 Also wondering if they’ll *EVER* reveal what happened to him in the end
There's a GOOD chance they will! Since in Intergrade (the Yuffie DLC) we explore Deep Ground and we see that's where he goes in the end. It's too much of a tease to show us Deep Ground right after FF7R when you only meet Nero & Weiss in Dirge of Cerberus which is a Post FF7 game.

First time playing this I always find the DMW slot system is pretty funny since many times it just so out of place lol But then that last battle appeared and I only feel pain. I can't believe I actually wished that slot machine won't stop spinning
I never got into the original Crisis Core, but it's entirely because I assumed what Zack's personality was. I figured he was a super serious stoic elite badass or whatever and I wasn't interested. I had no idea he was just a puppy.

Well, FF7R is more like a sequel, it doesn't "remade" things. CC and og FF7 still canonically happened. FF7R is already a loop, it diverges when "Zack saved" timeline was created and in a separate universe, but "Zack died" timeline should still happen otherwise whole FF7/R Cloud wouldn't exist.
It's a remake of the the original Crisis Core with the Remake voice actors and models, but isn't part of the Remake universe. It still leads up to the events of the original FFVII.
