I had the pleasure of flying Cathay Pacific 61 years ago in a twin engine, tail dragging DC-3 from Manila in the Phillipines to Labuan, British North Borneo. We stopped along the way at a couple of small airports in North Borneo.
Haha are u for real? He's a pilot do u honestly want him to have a camera strapped to him for a whole flight? Plane crashed and the flight data recorder shows him talking to a camera instead of going his job he would end up with his name blackened !
I didn't expect to see these three guys in this video. I brought them the cargo manifest to sign just last week. I was very impressed by the instrument panel in the cockpit.
wow, I've been wanted to be a Cathay Pacific pilot for quite a while now. I finally get a feeling of what it's like, thank you so much for this amazing video!

@@matt309 Seniority and flight experience says alot. That person can pull off 150k usd according to their website, which is alot. Keep in mind, HK has one of the lowest income taxes too.
So sad to hear of what happened to your pilots lately due to the current HK protests. I actually like that pilot who informed the passengers on flight about what they could expect on arrival at HK airport due to the protest, so we could prepare what we might see on arrival. It is really great for a pilot to do so. I wish them all the best.
I've always wanted to be a 747 pilot. My grandfather was a 747 pilot for thirty years for TWA until his retirement in early 2001 that's what got me interested in the 747. Now they are old planes being retired, so not gonna happen...
So you wanted to become a pilot for the 747, and not purely for aviation itself? As MrOGseed said, the 747-8i is in production, however, it isn't as popular as the 777. If you really wanted to be a pilot, you'd do it regardless of an airliner being phased out.
chris pryazhentsev So basically, it was because flying a 747 made you feel good and look cool? You wouldn't have become a pilot with that logic. You start at the bottom with ATR's and Dash 8's, then work up to 737's and A320's, and eventually you fly the big birds. There's always the -8i variant.
The average schedule for a pilots week usually involves 3 straight days of work(but this includes in-between flight were you get to rest and relax...usually in hotels or you can explore the city/town) and then 3 days back home where you can relax and engage in physical activities....However a pilots weekly schedule is not as "static" as most jobs and work hours can and usually will change according to what is necessary

Not quite, the airline started by an Australian and a US citizen, started as "Roy Farrell Import/Export"...later migrated into Cathay Pacific in honour of the Cathay Hotel were most meetings occured. There is a book called "Syd's Pirates", very hard to find, which details the very interesting history of the airline...the name of the book gives you a hint of how it all started.

it depends on the different systems that you enrolled yourself in the commercial aviation industry. You could enroll in the academy by yourself, then you get a commercial pilot license for a few years. and working up to over 120 practice hours and 1000 safety hours record. Then hunting for a job in commercial airlines. Or you could get enroll yourself into some Airlines' sponsor projects and finish the flying hours inside the company so that you could account that into working experience.
