Wow, I've got the exact same button broken on a 2014 Grand Caravan. Our garage can't take us until next week so I'm so happy I can fix this myself! Thank you!!
So I replaced the regulator, ( not the door switch you're showing in this video), and after replacing that, the window was able to roll down but then when I tried to roll it back up, nothing happened. Then when I tried to roll the window back up, it stayed down and none of the buttons work at all on the switch anymore. It seems like it possibly burned something up because the window went down slower than normal and slowed down as it was descending as if it was binding against something. So I'm not sure what's going on, but this is so frustrating in the middle of the freaking winter when it's freezing...
Thanks for the video. 2020 DGC SXT. Left Sliding Door, and window stopped working. Door lock still working. OBD Code Reads: U0201 Lost communication with left door module. Two 30 amp fuses OK. Any suggestions.. much appreciated..
OMG maybe you can help me. I had to replace my window regulator on my 2019 caravan and when I got everything hooked back up the driver side pannel doesn't work. All the other window switches work, but the driver window switches and both lock switches on the drivers and passenger sides don't work.
I've seen this before and it happens when using a replacement switch assembly that 'appears' to have the same buttons and configuration, but it's actually not the same part. Dodge for some reason made like 45 versions of this same switch assembly across all their cars, so it's super important to get the exact same part number when replacing. If you did get the exact same part number and it's still having issues, there may be a wiring or electrical issue downstream.
Same thing here. Did you fix it? I replaced the regulatory since the window fell down and got scratched inside the door. I put the new regulator in the door plug everything back in and the window went down, but then suddenly the switch stopped working and none of the controls worked, including the mirrors in lock and unlock... so annoying.
@TheEclecticHandyman I didn't replace the switches. I replaced the window mount in the door. When I did that, all the switches in the drivers door stopped working. And no I haven't figured out a fix yet. The window is still half way down 6 months later and the switches still don't work.
@@adamking7959 oh no!!! This just happened tonight to my wife's 2010 town and country. The window fell down. Local parts store had regulator. I installed. It worked for 5 seconds while rolling down. Then it stayed down and the entire switch doesn't work. No mirror controls, rear tilt-out windows or anything. If i sit in the passenger seats, I can roll down the other windows. But the drivers side switch was cooked after I swapped regulator. This is driving me crazy. I've been outside in the FREEZING weather trying to fix this POS! And just like you, the lock and unlock doesn't work on the front passenger door now either.
I got mine from eBay in good-used condition, but they also have them brand new from Dodge or Amazon. Make sure you get the exact same part number. Thanks for watching! 🛠️
Yes, use the old part and find the number to match or go online to find a replacement for your specific model. The 08' is an older generation so it will be a different part, but you can find it for your specific application.
The 2-3x I've had this happen (I've owned 3 of these vans), the wiring has remained intact it was the switch that failed. They are all plastic + electrical components and wear out over time (especially the driver's side).
2014 went on mopar and the part is discontinued…. Went to amazon and ordered the part $22 free shipping (i dont have rear window controls…. Van was a basic model used by a funeral home so it didnt need power rear windows or doors… (the dead don’t sweat)
@@cmonbone Yeah that's a tough job because these switch components are all assembled plastic and not made to be disassembled and replace individual parts like buttons. Best bet to be most cost effective is to look for your same switch housing part number on eBay and buy a good used one at a fraction of the cost.
Thank you! You saved this single mom $500!!
Oh that's awesome and glad you got your van working again! Thanks for watching! 🛠️

This would definitely save a lot of money and also save time on not having to go to a garage.
I hope someone with this minivan, or even a car like it can follow the steps and save some money! Thanks for watching Rita! 🛠️
Thank you so much. The auto shop wanted $400 to fix this, but I fixed it myself for $20
That's awesome glad you were able to do it yourself and save some money! 🛠️

That was an easy fix like you said!! Wow, I had no idea. Thank you for always explaining your steps very specifically! 👍🏼🤗
Yes just about as easy a repair as it gets on the car, thanks for watching AZ! 🛠️

Where did get the part from

What about an 08 dodge grand caravan? Is there a replacement for that?
Yes, use the old part and find the number to match or go online to find a replacement for your specific model. The 08' is an older generation so it will be a different part, but you can find it for your specific application.
Thanks! My fix was 1" of electrical tape to cover a frayed wire.
Glad it helped, thanks for watching! 🛠️
Most non working buttons are from a broken ground wire in the driver's door harness between the door hinge

You can get a good deal if you just go to your local junkyard and get it from the exact same car
Yep great suggestion. Most the ones on eBay seem to just be online junkyards selling parts 🛠️
What I want to know is how to pop a back window button out and replace the passenger window button with it!

Well, I did it. I found a RUclips video on how to pop the rear one out and put it in the front and it works.

Yes such a great car/van! 🛠️
