Dana White and Roy Nelson are hysterical. They are two people who just don't get along, not because they have deep rooted hatreds, they are just two different people.

Heres the deal for those who are making some principled stance against White here.
Roy Nelson is always bitching about being under appreciated. He is always bitching about being under paid. Well guess what like it or not, the UFC is not some Bruce Lee ancient martial arts tournament, its a business. You want more money, sell more, be more fan friendly. Fighters are paid based off of the revenue they bring in. Looking like a hillbilly does not scream of talented martial artist.
I think UFC's success is in part dew to the colourful and not so colourful personalities. The Kimbo's, the Lesnar's, the Tito's, the Rampage's, the Diaz's, the Serra's, the Nelson's.. Then you have the Talent part of things.. In any sport you have a list of guys who do what they do and people tune in because of it. I think The UFC makes more money because of it and I also think that if they spent more time on those personalities, such as music, entrences, pyro.. Like Pride and even the WWE. $
Genetically some people can not get a good pysically shape,I do think if you can do all the things it takes to be an Ultimate fighter than so be it no matter what you look like advertisers need to capitalize on the looks to make it work..Butterbean didn't have the body either but he could do the work!
Spoken as a fellow beard with a belly guy who happens to be a Big country fan. Just shut up about his looks, the guy is a true character and world class fighter. I love the fact that nobody controls him, not even the big bad wolf Dana himself
Considering the fighters are the face of the ufc, the president is going to absolutely care about how his employees represent the organisation.
I personally don't care about his physique, that's what works for him, gives him weight to put into his punches, top control etc, and keeps him at hw which is easier to compete in, but his beard is not an epic awesome beard, it's a homeless guy's beard. It's patchy with gray, overgrown out the sides.. it's just ugly. there are better beards out there
think danas overstepping the line suggesting how fighters should wear their hair styles.. yes i know the topic started over sponsors & he may have a point (depending which sponsors of course) but fighters fashion should not be his concern.. he is hardly the fashion police himself..
I like Roy Nelson's style. It sucks when all the fighters look the same. I want to be able to say to a non-UFC fan "Roy is the guy with the mullet and beard."

It's not the fact that he has a beard... it's that it's a big unkempt bushy beard with patches of gray in it, on a guy with a huge round pasty white belly hanging over his shorts.
I'm a fan of Roy and his unique look, but the fact is that sponsors don't go for that shit. Customers will buy things endorsed by ripped pro athletes... not so much if it's endorsed by a big fat dude who hasn't seen a barber in a year.
I agree with you 100% but Im wondering if its more then what we know or see. Like if Nelson is always saying to Dana why dont I have sponsors or I want sponsors etc its probly just more frustrating to Dana as he says who is going to take you seriously. But that said that aint his call its up to the sponsor 100% and what they want and think. lol which is probly why he dont have a sponsor lol. Like you would never see UA sponsor him.

They're definitely not shoving Roy into the title picture, but if he keeps winning he'll get a shot. If he beats Miocic that's 4 wins in a row, they'd have to put him into a #1 contender's match, maybe against Hunt (if he wins) or Overeem.
The fact is that Roy is in the wrong weight class. If he was in shape he would have almost definitely won the LHW championship. And he just may not have the power or talent to overcome the size disadvantage at HW... ensuring gatekeeper status, possibly.
