i know its only a few highlights, but Paul's second run might have been what won the judges over during this contest. His whole run with the exceptions of a few tricks (to keep from doing a revert mid line and break the flow i imagine) was entirely switch, no push, during a time when switch skating a contest was not as common as today. And making it look as natural as he did in a contest setting was even more rare. You can find it if you search "Paul Rodriguez Tampa Pro Final 3 Runs". It's a cool way to cap of the decade i feel, since videos like fully flared, daewon's Almost round 3 part, and later 2000's releases were showing the direction in which skateboarding's ambidextrous-ness was headed, giving way to the Ishod Wairs and Le'Andre Sanders of today.

I remember this and how much I though Nyjah deserved to win. Reason: a switch heel front board and hardflip down the stairs are harder in my opinion than a 3 flip down the same set of stairs and a nollie heel noseslide over the box. However, I understand that the switch back 5-0 across the box made the difference although in my opinion a big-spin front board down the stairs is harder. It was a close call but that's why Nyjah should have won. No bias as I rate both skaters to the fullest...
PRod still won, so you probably can't said what he did those tricks compared with other skater in this contest.

Yeah but his speed and wow factor majorly decreased over the years. His tricks are still cool but he approaches them like a slow grandpa now. Its almost slow mo and he looks like he has to prepare way more before every trick by staring at it intensely from like 7 meters away.

Luan should have won, Nyjah 2nd and Prod 3rd, the judges were really high on weed to put Luan in 7th
Watch the full event. Luan fell multiple times on all 3 of his runs. His second run had so many bails in it. Understandable though he had just turned pro and won a bunch of Tampa ams. Here the stakes are a little higher and mess ups hurt a bit more...
