There isn't really much to write a description about lol. I decided not to edit this down too much because I wanted people to see my raw reaction to things. Minus the time I was searching for the Knife for 30 minutes in White Space.... but we don't talk about that.

@NumberOneRated1997 Everywhere...
I see his face.
Already have one
But I didn’t use the code 🥲

I really hope you keep commenting your thoughts on this game. It's so fun seeing people blind react to the things that happen.
And the game is pretty up front about the tone it as. It's a cute game with dark undertones. Bad things happen sometimes.
@@genericname2747 I really hope this isn't sarcastic, I can't tell. I enjoy liveblogging, I'd be happy to keep doing it. Coming off of Undertale/Deltarune, I'm just speculating based off of the clues we're given.
@@existenceispain_geekthesiren I'm being 100% genuine here. This is a game where a lot of stuff happens and it's fun seeing how people react.

Welcome to the rabbit hole cibles.

Fun fact: “Omori” means “Large grove” in Japanese but in other cases it can mean “Weight” or “Burden”
wooow
i think it was actually made by the term ''hikikomori''
It’s short for Hikikomori yeah
It can also be pronounced "Oh Mari". Since Omori and Mari are siblings, it's a fun little naming thing.
@@genericname2747 it also ends in i like some other things in game
finally she noticed that reading sad poems doesn't do anything to impede the enemy. this feels like it'll become a more important mechanic later

@RobertPeterson16 meh call em whatever you want it's not like it matters that much
@@existenceispain_geekthesiren Don't be so rude I didn't know she used she her for a while since I never opened the descriptions or read the about
From how she reacted to the fears at the beginning when going the wrong way, I could tell Cibles was going to love this game
Also fun fact- A lot of the art in this game is hand drawn! It makes for a cool aesthetic.
Edit: Also, some of the battle terms can be confusing at first, so for reference, juice is basically mana and used for skills, hitting right in the heart is a critical hit, and also when you end up seeing it a moving attack just means you did more damage due to emotional advantage stuff.
Omg, I beat the game and I still never figured out that’s what a moving attack was. I’d been thinking of the wrong definition of “moving”
I don’t think she would in my opinion, 10 minutes in and she’s already getting impatient for content. About 80% of this game is headspace, which has an excessive load of fillers.
Omori is a pretty cool game.
How do you manage to skip every possible skippable thing though 😭
Ah yes Cibles Geometry dash, the undertale youtuber playing omori
With another spamton in your reply
@NumberOneRated1997 and a non-Spamton pinging the Spamton that pinged the Spamton in the replies!!!
@-captainspaceboy- ah yes funny joke anyways YOUR WIFE DIVORCED YOU AAAGAHAHAGHH
Pro Tip: Read what the characters are saying to you, since y'know, they're teaching you how to play the game and their dialogue is interesting and develops their characters, but since you skipped all of it not knowing anything going on you were confused :3
Merg: Oh no... an UwU
Cibles: OH MY GOD AN UwU!!
Duality of man

I cant wait to watch more than 50 hours of confusion from Cibles as they learn how to play the game. Good luck and i hope you enjoy! (p.s: you can enable text skip in the menu and hold shift to run)
On my first run i was able to breeze throught the entire game, while only dying to a boss that was a valentine at the world's end (not a spoiler). Absolutely my favourite boss fight even though it caused me personally a lot of stress (not being able to beat it first try).

Sad fact: Omori was originally going to let you pick whether you were a male or female Sunny, but there were so many sprites they had to remake, so it was cut to save time

"This game is boring" when the characters get introduced and set up as likable so when the fucked up stuff starts to happen you actually care about the characters? Wow insane.

Apparently according to Toby, Deltarune ended up being very similar to Omori completely unintentionally.
I doubt it. Toby made this tweet way before Omori was released (2015 or something). I don't think Omocat told him the ending then. Correct me if I'm wrong, tho.
@@__Irene__ Omori was starting development around 2014, and Toby was planning on making Deltarune before Undertale, and seeing as Toby and Omocat were friends at the time (omocat made Woshua from Undertale), it's likely Omocat shared her ideas to Toby and he realized it was similar.
I'm pretty sure the similarities Toby saw was that the game was divided into 2 worlds (Dark World / Headspace vs. Faraway Town / Hometown) and the whole deal with Dess and Mari seeming similar to each other.
@@angelschair9388 Oh, I see. Ty for the info! I didn't know they were friends.
Spoilers for Omori:
Yeah, 2 worlds and dead/missing older sisters are the similarities I haven't even thought about.
Guys nice spoilers you have there! I already know everything but please put a spoiler warning... Wouldn't like for cibles to see those, or anyone who doesn't know about it at all
@mariotheundying oops, I didn't even realize that it's a spoiler. Ty for telling me, I've put a spoiler warning.
Another fact, dev of Omori, omocat, made WOSHUA from undertale

Tip: You can skip text like in Undertale by enabling it in the options.
15:45 HERO is based off his favourite food, a hero sandwich, AUBREY is based off aubergines, BASIL is the spice, thats about it tho
After a lot of deliberation over the years, I've come to the conclusion that - while only my second _favorite_ game, OMORI is, to me, the _best_ game ever made. I honest to god cannot think of a _single_ major flaw with this game. A few minor flaws sure - but nothing that impacts the entire game itself.
On top of that, this rivals Deltarune for best RPG gameplay ever, has beautiful art all around, and has - in my opinion the single best story OF ALL TIME. Not best story from a game. Best story EVER. I've never full on sobbed playing a game period, but this game got me _close._ This game is a once in a lifetime experience that you will _never_ stop thinking about.
This game is a perfect 10/10 experience. But it's not only that. It reaches beyond that. It's probably the one and ONLY game I would give an 11/10. In case you're wondering what my _favorite_ is, since I mentioned that despite this being the _best_ game to me, it's only my second _favorite,_ that would be Hollow Knight.
The only reason that game is higher is because - as silly as this sounds - Hollow Knight kinda changed how I viewed video games forever, and has inspired basically every game I've ever wanted to make, including my biggest goal in life, a game called "CORVID" that I have no means of making right now. But OMORI is absolutely _better_ if that makes sense.
Enjoy the game! I'm not sure I'll be able to watch this stream today but I'll keep it open in a chrome tab for later :)
Hollow Knight, Undertale/Deltarune and Omori are my favourite games too.
Something in particular about Omori that is really interesting is that it has a lot of links that you realise the connection of but there's so many that you (I at least) realised later on. For example, in the shower a while after I finished the game, I realised why the headspace character's hairs are purple. There's also more in depth stuff like how a certain code is the date the moon landing or something like that.
@@Luke-st8bc There's a reason their hair is purple?!? I'm assuming you can't tell me, as to not spoil the game for Cibles, but I'll have to look into that!
@@rare_edamimi_fangirl it's similar to why Aubrey's hair is pink and is part of the same conversation. There's a small chance it might be a coincidence but I think it's intentional
the hollow knight respect, aw hell yeah (I also love this game a lot I just don't have that much to say lol)
I'm pretty sure that early Omori and early Deltarune were pretty similar, so seeing Omori finished and later Deltarune finished is interesting, it's kinda like the same thing taking 2 different paths, I don't think it's hard to get into omori as an Undertale fan because of that
It's really funny that you decided to play OMORI around now because I just learned about it too
I've already seen a full playthrough of OMORI, so I am excited for you to find/experience some of the things in the game!
Also, you can press SHIFT to run, which makes the game a lot faster.
Also, just letting you know that you seem to be missing a lot of dialogue/events, a lot of the things change their interactions after you do certain things.
What's the point of playing a story-driven game but not reading the story and then also complaining you don't understand what's happening?
very cool that you're playing this game, but it is so infuriating how you're not paying attention to the dialogue and then get all confused.
basic explanation of the battle system:
you have two meters, heart and juice. this is your hp and your mana. performing most skills requires juice.
there are three emotions, and 3 tiers of them. the basic ones are happy, angry, and sad. second tier is ecstatic, enraged, and depressed. level three emotions, which are limited to only Omori and some bosses, are manic, furious, and miserable.
happy is strong over angry but weak to sad, angry is strong to sad but weak against happy, and sad is strong to happy but weak to angry. sad makes you recieve less damage, but you lose some juice as well. happy makes you more likely to deal crits and also makes you faster, but you will also have a higher chance of missing the attack. angry makes you deal more damage but you will take more damage.
toys are items that effect emotions and stats, and some also deal damage. snacks are healing items, some heal juice, and others heal heart. skills are unique moves that can lower stats, deal more damage, hit multiple targets, etc. attack is just your regular attack.
the little bubbles that pop up are follow-ups. they can do more alongside a regular attack by using your energy. energy is the bottom meter which goes up everytime a member of your party is hit. all follow-ups cost 3 energy, except for release energy which costs 10. release energy is basically the power of friendship attack, and will deal a lot of damage.
i saw you struggling with this, so, DON'T FORGET TO PRESS SHIFT IF YOU WANT TO PUT AN EMOTION ON THE ENEMY. IT WILL BE APPLIED TO THE PARTY MEMBER.
hopefully that's it.

I have only watched 20 minutes and you are somehow managing to mess up in the weirdest spots. like you got stuck in the opening for half an hour and DİDNT READ THE PHOTO ALBUM.
I am both excited and terrified at the prospect of watching someone casually miss everything in a game I spent maticilously searching for everything
Omori is quite an interesting game, to be honest...even though it’s a horror game, it’s quite interesting...I recommend for you to someday give Yume Nikki or Yume 2kki a try!
take good care during your future livestreams and always remember to have fun!
Hi, Sunny. You are not Sunny, you are... depressed.

I'm super happy to see you playing this game as it's my personal favourite game! Just a side note, you can water basil's plants by interacting with the watering cans near their plots. They don't give much in terms of rewards but its just a nice thing to do
Actually, it might help a bit, that's all I say
yooo thanks for not spoiling the whole game like some people do when they give advice.
the flowers are something i did on my first playthrough and its honestly just a really calming thing to do. so whenever you think youre gonna get into something big soon, come back and water the flowers to take a little emotional break
(Not related to any timestamps) You're pronouncing Mari's name wrong. It's not like Mary, it's like mah-rii; you take an "mm" sound, the "ahh" from the end of rutabaga, an "rr" sound, and then the ending "ii" of "Wii".

This game has quite a bit of hidden content and two main routes. It's going to take a while if you want to experience everything. Merg made about 32 hour long videos on omori but he basically did every single thing in the game. Also things may be slow now, but stuff picks up quite a bit later on.
And you're right. It IS RPG maker.

You should never relate the author with the art piece in that way. One thing is the author and how it thinks and the other is the art piece they've made. Yeah, the author made it, but just experiencing or even enjoying it doesn't mean you are the author or that you think or act like they do. It is sad that you have been hesitant from playing it (I personally have no opinion in omori, haven't played and I am not interested on it, just not atracted to it.) just because whatnot the author did. (Not condemning author. I am uninformed of all the controversy (I know the base of it) and I do not want to be involved in it.

I have post-traumatic stress, this game is the most realistic I have seen when dealing with trauma, anxiety attacks and how randomly they happen, quite realistic and I love the music 10/10
I identify with the flower boy, when I was little I used to have a personality similar to his (I'm still like him but without very strong emotions) and the moment when he distances himself from everyone and can only calm down by being completely alone , very similar to my panic attacks.
also "something" a shadow that makes you remember everything and panic, that is almost completely the same as what happens to me, very realistic for a video game 5900/10

I know that this comment won't do anything and we still probably won't get a part two, but on the rare chance that you read this and decide to continue I'll make the comment anyways. I'm not sure how familiar you are with turn based JRPG's but based on your videos, Undertale and Deltarune seem to be your only experience. I hope this doesn't come off as "overexplaining" as I really want to be polite. If any of this comes off as a rude then I'm sorry.
* you can hold shift to sprint(many areas don't let you do it but in a lot you can)
* the emotions don't oppose each other as it is instead a triangle system; the emotions provide buffs and debuffs separate to how effective they are to other emotions, don't think about the buffs and debuffs too much but do think about them a bit, try to focus on having an advantage over your enemies first but decide which emotions you are going to use on yourself and your enemies based off the stat changes [happy>angry>sad>happy]
* anger raises attack but lowers defense; weak to happiness but strong to sad
* happiness increases speed(turn order) and luck(critical hit chance) but lowers accuracy; weak to sad but strong to anger
* Sadness increases defense but lowers speed(there was a line of dialogue in the tutorial that said it lowered attack but that is false, at one point in development that was true but it's not true anymore) as well as having the additional non stat changing mechanic of converting a portion of health damage to juice(Mana) damage separate from the defensive buff, so if you take 100 damage you'll only lose 80 or 90 health and will also lose 10 or 20 juice(these aren't exact numbers), meaning you'll take less damage at the expense of having less juice; weak to anger but strong to happy
* Afraid does not raise or lower stats but prevents the use of skills(with the exception of scripted fight such as the one where you play as Sunny); it is kind of weak to everything but it does the same amount of damage to everything; you are unable to put this emotion on enemies as only they can do it to you; Omori is immune to fear
* Each emotion has three tiers(with the exception of fear) with each tier increasing the stat(s) that it increases even more while also decreasing the stat it decreases even more
* The sadness gimmick mentioned above will convert more health damage to juice damage on the higher tiers
* only Omori(with the exception of some scripted bosses) can have the third tier of each emotion, Aubery kel and hero can only get to the second tier and the most enemies can only have one
* [This one is not as important but it still matters] sometime recently(not sure when) an update made it so that if hero has an advantage over someone his healing is increased but if he is at a disadvantage over a party member his healing is reduced
* [This one is very important]emotion changing skills(as well as some toys) can be used on both party members and enemies, they will always dufault to the user but by pressing shift you can target someone on the other side
* There is a control rebind in the settings
* Snacks are items that restore health or juice and can be used outside of battle and toys are consumables that do anything else and cannot be outside of battle
* toast just means the party member is dead(but will come back with one health at the end of the fight, however they will not receive experience from that fight) and should be revived with an item called life jam that you get a little bit later
* If Omori dies, regardless of the state of other party members, you will receive a game over
* Omori(not sunny) can survive any attack that would normally kill him once per fight with him surviving at one health and becoming immune to damage for the rest of the turn
* at the start of each fight you will always have three energy(10 max)
* every time a party member takes damage, regardless of how much damage is taken, you will get one energy; if an enemy uses an AOE you'll get one point for every party member who gets hit
* the bar next to the number is irrelevant and does not mean anything. It is just there for aesthetic
* to use a follow-up you just press left right up or down. There is no cursor or Z press required; for Kel Aubery and hero their follow ups involve interacting with other party members requiring them to be alive
* all follow ups cost three energy; aside from release energy which cost 10(the max)
* what happens when you use a follow up changes from character to character and throughout the game but basically it's extra single target damage most of the time(I am being vague on this one to encourage you to experiment)
* a party member can only use follow ups when attacking and you only have a few seconds to make the input
* for example, if you wanted Kel to pass to Aubery, you would have kel attack while you have 3 or more energy, then when he attacks, press left and nothing else and it should work as long as she's not toast(dead)
* Omori's follow ups are attack again, which is self-explanatory, trip which lowers the speed of the target, and release energy, which requires everyone to be alive, and does massive AOE damage to all enemies dependent on many things but mainly emotional advantage
* next time you play this game you should do it live so that others can help you in real time
* you will never have to look for some thing in whitespace ever again. Don't worry :)
* "heart" is the games way of referring to health
* Movement feels weird because it's grid based. You will eventually get used to it
* a mole is a black spot on someone's body, kind of like a freckle but bigger(this isn't exclusive to Omori this is something in real life too)
* Most importantly, if someone knocks on your door(in the game), OPEN. THE. DOOR! THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!

Ok, so this is an amazing game, it was actually a really good idea to make sure your mental health was okay. Also, banger OST, you'll see (I am at the start of the video so I don't know if you made it to the end)
I also hate (but kinda understand) that you cant skip text in omori as a fast reader and having probably seen every single dialogue in the game
