This tutorial was perfect. I did it with my nails and they key fob opened quite easily and now it's working like new with better range because of the new battery. (for Infiniti QX60 also)
Out battery was getting weak. I looked at the car manual and could not find anything about how to replace the battery. But your video did the trick for us. Thanks much
This video is so well done. Gets right to the point and shows how to do it. I didn't notice the 2 tabs on the interior till you pointed it out. Pro tip - use a 3.8mm tip to fill out the tab and its as simple as a twist to open up the fob. using a smaller width tip can deform the tab.
Thank you for your way to help take out the nerves from replacing the battery on an Infiniti key fab for the first time. The narration helped to guide me to use the mini screw driver appropriately as I was learning and doing it, the way to pry open the plastic key fab quickly and safely, helped me to learn that there is an actual key in the key fab, what model battery I needed and what tool I needed to get to get it done. I made all my purchases at the local Target store. Thanks again.
Worked like a charm. Dealer gave two fob/remotes with vehicle but dead battery on one of them. Just happened to have a extra CR2032 in the kitchen cabinet. Took about five minutes and now have spare working key fob. Thanks. FYI: the CR2032 is a pretty common if not universal key fob remote battery for multiple vehicles and multiple model years. Thanks!!
Thank you for this video.. It was perfect; the large image, the thorough explanation while demonstrating replacing the battery. Greatly appreciate your time and effort.
Unlock the car with the working fob, move the working fob out of range of the car, then take malfunctioning fob with the new battery into the car. Then try to start the car. This worked for me
I had the same issue. Replaced battery and key did not work. Took the fob to the car, and the car starts, but the buttons on the fob are dead - no function on locks etc.
Great tutorial! I was a bit worried about pulling the key fob apart, but your video showed me exactly how much pressure is required and the battery was changed in seconds! Thank you.
Your instructions are helpful but I still say that while this is the best car I have ever had, whoever devised THIS key design ought to be horsewhipped.
Mine was going in and out and just replaced it after watching I can't believe I thought because of the emergency key there was gonna something I didn't wanna mess up. But a 1at grader can do this, lol thanks for the video. And idk why somewhere down the road I thought if I take the battery out I gotta reprogram my fob, but NOPE🤙🤙
Good tutorial. Only problem is mine has a cr2025 and the inside looks different. Title needs to be changed to specific years that this key fob covers cuz some of the other infinities have different insides and batteries. Another problem is the battery does not go on the side of the all black part of the body of the key fob. Secondly when you click it starting from the front to the back to snap it together it does not snap together. I have a 2011 Infiniti G37 s. I don't know what kind of car that one came from but I think yours is a completely different design.
I can start the car and open the doors while locked on my q50 but it doesn't lock or unlock with the key fob maybe it's a fuse ? I put new batteries still doesn't work
Hey I know this is a year later but I had the same problem and apparently you have to hold the key up to the start button of the car while holding the lock button and press the start button 3 times. Here’s a video showing how: ruclips.net/user/shortsMXxQQ91uKto?feature=share
Did anybody else tear up the little slits that you pry open at the top of the fob? I was very careful and this cheap plastic still got chewed up when I tried to pry it open. Mine was a very tight fit.. the good and exciting news was that I already had the correct replacement batteries at home I bought for a different project last year. 😎
Whose genius idea was it to 1. Provide people with no warning system as to when a key fob is about to die 2. Then when it does people can’t turn their cars on and 3. Make it incredibly difficult to switch the battery out. Mine did not open without a fight. I mean REALLY?!
Am I the only one that lost use of remote (even with new battery), and had to go to the dealership to have the key fob (both of them) re-programmed? REplacing a key fob is simple but paying to have the fob reprogrammed at the dealership is expensive. Perhaps my car's computer had a problem. As an aside, anyone else having repeated wearing out (every 40k miles) of the bushing for the front shocks (QX60 2014 2x at 60k and 120k and 2018 at 50k)?
I had more difficulty getting the battery out of its packaging then actually replacing the battery!! Excellent instructions!! Thank you.
Me too LOL! Great video with every detail!

Thanks for putting this together. I just changed out both FOBS. I will mark it on the calendar so I know when I should get new batteries. Thanks.
Thank you. I did not know how to open the key. And i did not wanna break it by force open it. This was very helpful 😊 i just changed the battery.

Excellent Tutorial! Performed the battery change within a couple of minutes with a small screwdriver. (QX-60 model)
Thank you! Have referenced this video 2 times now when changing my fob
Thank you for posting this tutorial. Very easy to follow. Thank goodness I didn't have to bother someone to do it for me.
Thanks for demonstration. I was able to replace the battery in my q70.

Thanks a lot! The finance guy at the dealer said I only have 30 sec to change the battery 😒
Your instructions are helpful but I still say that while this is the best car I have ever had, whoever devised THIS key design ought to be horsewhipped.

Wow, it's so easy. I was probably about to pay a lot of money to get it replaced.
I felt so dumb when I realized you just had to pop it open lol

In Dubai, Infiniti wanted to charge me $180 to do this!
the dealer charged me an hour labor plus parts
