Great work. Love that smooth transition around 2:22.
Thanks, glad someone appreciate it 😅
yas!!!
I sold my G85 sometime last year because I got an incredible deal on the G95. Needless to say, I absolutely regretted that from the first week haha. The G95 has a ridiculous crop in 4k and they've made no real upgrades to the design, aside from adding V-log and slo-mo. The G85 is a sweet spot for hybrid shooting that'll last for years to come in my opinion. Great video friend.
I mainly shoot photography but also have interest in video, the g85 and g95 both are the same price what should I get.
@@heyyall1790 if you're into photography I'd go with the g95! I honestly do like both, but if they're the same price and you're more into photography, I'd go for the g95. The megapixel bump, slightly better autofocus, and updated feature set would suit you well
@@MattsNotes thanks a lot man. 👍
chikili you should have bought the G9
I’m on the same boat now. The g85 and g95 are priced the same and I’m not sure what to go with
very very good stuff! great to see that a lot more people are discovering the potential that this little beast has!
Thank you!
U think it compares to the a6400? If so the prices of them aren’t that different. Should someone just buy this or the 6400
The three main reasons I bought the g85 over the a6400 were 1) I prefer the heftier g85 body as I think it has better ergonomics 2) I prefer Panasonic color science over Sony's although Sony's newer model cameras have much improved colors 3) lastly, the fully articulate screen of the g85 can come in handy more times than I could imagine.
Hey mate, I wanted to say that I actually did watch the video all the way through. I used to own a G85 (used it for low light shooting) but these days I shoot on the GH5, in fact, I have three of them. As the years rumble on, I pick up more gear, more lenses, gimbal, lights, audio gear, SmallRig setup etc etc, but none of the gear makes you creative. The real gold dust is passion, persistence and an eye for a great image. I can tell you shot loads of this from a car, but the clever thing is you've shot (or at least chosen shots) at golden hour. The lighting is really nice mate. Well done. Some really lovely work here :-)
Thank you for the feedback!
Thanks for this! Day-in-the-life kind of shots are so great to see what this camera can do! Much appreciated!. You have a good eye btw!
Thank you!
I'm in love with this camera
Beautifully done! That's some really nice footage you got there... I loved the color grading as well
Thank you!
This is very impressive!!! Great work!
Nice shots.
It even looks more cinematic when you film in 4k and frame it so you have the black bars top and bottom cinemascope framed look in post.
Both the G85 and GX85 are brilliant cameras.
The GX85 with cineD hack matches the G85 wonderfully it's just smaller non weather sealed and has no mic jack but priced well to.
i can t understand the black bars... it properly properly looks like shit;
this, on the other hand, is a very pleasing result, really nice video
Boston is so beautiful especially at night
Man this is so good deserves so much more views!
Thank you so much! Means a lot.
Great video and footage. I just got a G85 a few months ago. Hopefully I can learn to make cool videos like this one. Very inspiring.
Glad to hear this inspired you. The G85 is a great camera!
How mach for it
Sick work! The footage & colors = 🔥
Thank you 🙏🏽
This video was very gooooood! I don't know why your subscribers are so low number 🤣🤣 you will be great youtuber! Cheer up!
I still comeback to this for inspiration 1 of my fav video's
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 cinematography bro
Appreciate it!
Color is so dope mate, and shoots is also great
Thank you!
Nice work 😎👍 I was looking into getting this camera and saw you're local. 🤘keep up the good work 💪
Thank you!
COLORED BOY! Best wishes in your journey to success!
Appreciate it Grandad!
this is dope dude. beautiful footage
Thanks 🙏🏽
I use it’s little brother the Gx85! Hacked it to get cinelike d and it’s a little workhorse!
Great video. Did you shoot in 4k or 1080p ?
STRAIGHT HEAT!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome video 🙌
Thank you 🙏🏽
🔥💯💪🏼
Great work!!!!
Sir I like this video very much. 😍 ♥️👌👌
Sir I want to buy a camera. But did not decide which camera to buy. The video is graphy. Budget 70000. Is it better to buy Linux G 85?. Can you give me a comment sir? Sir did you take the video with lumix g 85 kitlens?
Sony a6400
What a great video man. Do you use a gimbal for taking the shots? Thank you
nice video man ! which musics did you use ? i didnt find them :(
Great video
Omg those colours!! Which picture profile did you shoot it in.
Thanks, I used Cinelike D -5 sharpness and contrast.
@@gainesvisuals5217 How much did you post process this?
@@asadnawaz5898 Just some slight tweaks in the mid tones before applying a lut.
*My Best Color Grades....
Wow!!!
Awesome!
Thank you!
Are car shots on the gimbal or this is just IBIS? Or maybe they stabilized in post? Very nice footage!
Thank you, all shots are handheld with IBIS, no post stabilization.
How do you set up that color tone? Show a video of how to set it up..i have the 12-60 stock lens that comes with it and also a 25 mm but i dont know if you used a different lens or what.
I used the 25mm 1.7 and I also made a video on my settings if you want to check it out.
@@gainesvisuals5217 most definitely send me the link please
How is the auto focus on this camera?
What preset did you use for recording? what software did you use for color grading? awesome results~!
what lens did you use waoo
Still can't decide between this and the g9. Don't know if I should go ahead and spend the extra
I personally chose the g85 because it was my first camera and I figured I'd get a cheaper body and try to invest in other gear to build around it. I think the biggest different are the variable frame rates and better bit rates on the g9. If you're looking for those two things I would say the g9 but otherwise g85.
@@gainesvisuals5217 I bought the g85 this thing is crazy. I was surprised at how good it is. I used the extra money to buy vintage lenses and adapters, extra batteries, external monitor, and a editing PC. So happy I took your advice thank you.
Congrats! Happy I could help and which vintage lens did you end up getting?
@@gainesvisuals5217 minolta 35mm 2.8, minolta 24mm 2.8, helios 44-2, contax zeiss 28mm 2.8.
absolutely gorgeous bro, are you color grading in post?
Thank you, I usually apply a light grade before putting on a lut.
hello did you use guimbal to stabilize the images?
I found the 14 42 lens great..
good job!
Thanks!
This is so coooool!!! I want to know what picture profile this is made by. Could you tell me ??
Thank you, this was all shot on Cinelike D.
@@gainesvisuals5217 Thanks! Really great video
Which settings do you use to get that look on lowlight? great job mate!
Thanks, I shoot in standard picture profile for lowlight, I find that low light log images out of this camera tend to fall apart when correcting. I really like the standard colors on this cameras so I just make slight adjustments on the low light footage which gives me minimal noise.
I love the music you used in this video!
How do you think this guy compares to the gh5?
Aaaand Is this shot in 4k or 1080?? thanks!
Thanks, everything was shot in 1080 in this video and I would say the gh5 is a g85 with better codecs, higher frame rates and the capability of v log. All in all the g85 in my opinion is the best camera you can possibly get at its price point.
@@gainesvisuals5217 wow! do you think either of them has better autofocus or mic preamps?
I wouldn't be able to tell you about the preamps since I haven't tested them out too much but I've found both cameras autofocus to be below average but if you know how to use manual focus it's not a problem.
whats lens are you using ? and setting G85 , thanks 🙏🏻
What lens did you use? I'm a beginner sorry if it was a dum question.
I used the lumix 25mm 1.7 for the whole video
@@gainesvisuals5217 thank you exactly what I'm looking at.
How is the video autofocus? I've heard some bad stuff but I think it was mostly exaggeration.
It depends on what you plan on shooting but personally I've stuck mostly with manual focus just because of its predictability.
I have a G85 and this is the type of video quality I want to shoot in what lens and settings are you using for this
Thank you! Most of it was shot in 1080 60p and I used the Panasonic 25mm 1.7 for all the shots.
@@gainesvisuals5217 does that lens have AF
Yes, but I stuck to manual focus when using the g85
I like this camera but the one thing that's keeps me from getting it is the lack of auto focus. That's a deal breaker because I would be using it for real estate photography and videography.
Yeah, the autofocus on the lumix line was always the one catch to all of their cameras. Both the g85 and GH5 are tremendous cameras but lack the autofocus capabilities that are a necessity for many creatives and their lines of work. Personally, I think if the GH5 had good autofocus it would be the perfect camera even today.
nice footagfe have same camera
Nice video what setting did you use to your camera lumix
Thank you, in my most recent video I covered my main settings I've been using for a while.
wow very nice
Thanks
HI! Shooting in 4K or 1080? Great job bro!
Thank you, I would say 90% of the footage was shot in 1080 but it was all edited in a 4k timeline
@@gainesvisuals5217 You telling me u can turn 1080 to 4k thought it was the other way around
Not literally, it was filmed in 1080p but the export settings were set to 4k.
Can you make a video about the colors please
What lense do you used?
handheld or use gimbal?
I don’t understand I have the same camera and have been using it for about a year as well... how do you compensate for the lake of light in some of the clips?!?!?
Like what settings do you even use?!??
I'm trying to upload but my video is lowering the quality than as it is on Preimere Pro or even my desktop. Shot at 1080p 60fps, scaled to 1440.. Should I just shoot in 4k and downscale it?
Hey man which lut did u use?
I used the M31 lut on most shots but some were graded.
HOW DO YOU reach this color on your video?
What's the second song? Nice work
Thanks, the second song is called "visions" by pilotkid on RUclips
Супер!
who beats
How much fps did you use in this camera for the slow motion?
All of the slow motion was shot in 60fps
If only it was a bit cheaper😔
What’s the song at 1:36?
How do you keep the full picture in complete focus I’ve been having this problem got almost I year know only way it stay in focus if I keep using the ring auto focus is horrible
Yeah I agree that the autofocus is unusable 99% of the time, while I use mf I set my focus point to the center of the screen unless I know I want a specific subject in focus. Also, shooting at higher f stops makes it a lot easier to get a majority of the shot in focus and I find it most helpful when shooting on the run and I don't have the time to set up shots. Hope this helped.
@@gainesvisuals5217 much a appreciate g
Easy, just find your lens' hyper-focal setting and use that (different for every lens). Then your scene will be in focus from around half that distance, all the way to infinity.
@0.35 shot is out of frame (left hand side)
Good shots, but the shots in the car are a bit long and there are many
Is this camera still worth buying in 2020?
For the value, most definitely. This is the best camera you can get with a kit lens at only $700 in my opinion. I find that Panasonic does a good job keeping their G series cameras relevant years after release. If you have the budget, I would recommend a more professional camera like the GH5 although cameras like this are double the price without a lens included. I hope this helped.
@@gainesvisuals5217 Thanks a lot mate! Definitely g85 is value for money at the given price point👍
@@unknwnjourneys yes g85 is awesome. This is the camera that made Panasonic.
Unless there are features you KNOW you need from, say a GH5, then I don't see much reason to spend 2.5-3x the price. This is a very capable camera. If you need 10-bit, or full 4k, more slowmo options then fine, go with the GH5. Otherwise, this is able to give you a LOT for the price.
Same deal with the lower cost G7, which is also a great camera. And if you don't need the weather resistance, over 30 minute recordings (though you can get around this in the G7, but its a pain), or stabilization, then go with the G7 and save an extra $200US. But I think the G85 is really the sweet-spot here, and worth the price for the stabilization alone.
Thanks everyone!! I have recently purchased G85 based of your comments and really love stabilization
There's a lot to explore but I'm enjoying the process of learning the camera😀
1:27 what tittle thats song
The track is called "Visions" by a producer on RUclips named Pilotkid.
Nice but to much yellow :(
Agreed, I've been working more closely on my color grading lately. Let me know if you see an improvement in later videos.
Great footage, better skill. Just posted a video using my Panasonic g85, on RUclips channel “Untouchedfilms” tell me what u think. Hope you like it, it is a headphone commercial
Appreciate the feedback. I watched the commercial and subscribed to your channel, well done.👌🏾
Gaines Visuals aww thank you, I appreciate it. What is your export settings because my video on 1080p looked a little mushy
I personally shot most of the shots in 1080p but I export in 4k 24fps to upscale it to try and maintain as much clarity as possible.
@@gainesvisuals5217 yeah that what I like to do to, but upscale to 2k instead of 4k for the vp09 youtube codec. interesting
which lens u used? .......hows the stabilisation with 5 axis
I used the lumix 25mm 1.7. The In body image stabilization is amazing to me, it helps a lot with handheld shots.
