@@JoshVice I just found out a Hyndai Sonata twin cam head fits our engine and with an evo throttle body and cam gears its basically the same head as evo. interesting...
Best of luck to you Jose! I think I'm gonna do the same with the original engine. I've already swapped another engine into the lancer video should be up in afew weeks.
Yeah the engine I swapped into the lancer was from a manual. It's more difficult to remove with the clutch. If I had to do that again I'd remove the engine and transmission together I've got a video of that just haven't had time to edit and post. But yeah everything is the same. There isn't enough room to separate the trans and engine while in the engine bay. Even with harmonic balancer off.
@@JoshVice so i pulled mine yesterday. Pull each of the brackets off at the bottom near timing side and separate it and rotate it 180° intake facing driver side, remove the fan and radiator, and it'll come right out as long as everything is disconnected properly. If you ever have to do it again just a easier way to do it that I found man. However I do think you did good because ya still got it out with no real issues
@jameskanipe770 couldn't say forsure probably 8-12. I removed a manual engine from a parts lancer. Not alot of room with the clutch attached to the engine. It was a struggle. I was able to separate the trans and engine and had enough room to unbolt the clutch.
im going to be doing the same job here real soon on my 03 OZ Rally, something inside is not happy. Great vid, look forward to the next one!
Thanks Adam. Let me know if you have any questions when you get to work on your lancer.

That's very interesting! Maybe I'll see if I can find one at the salvage yard!

Gonna be doing this on mine within the next week or 2. Mines a manual though. Did you have to take anything additional off that isn't shown?

I have already took off the head, can i just unbolt the mounts and yank it out?
Gotta get those torque converter bolts if it's an auto.
@@JoshVice nope manual.
@@JoshVice would that be it? How many bolts are on the transmission to engine
