I think you hit the nail. The game clearly has less than 2 years of development time, I've seen fan projects better than this. I believe that is pretty much them getting investors or making shitty games, where they can earn what they spent and more by making the fanbase play games for more than 2 hours so that the refund is no longer valid.

I think the worst thing about this is how it could have been good! A game about being Kong and exploring and learning more about the lore of skull island would have been fantastic! But we got this instead- I wanted a monsterverse video game but not like this!

I’m a kaiju fan and I want to see a good King Kong game again. The last one was for the 2005 movie and that was peak movie game adaptation.
That game fucking ruled! And honestly for an Xbox 360 launch title, it kinda blows this game out of the water lmao

All that looks like they are public free prefab game objects and mesh. There is no way they spent any time on any of that.

You touched on that AtLA game - and holy shit does it blow my mind that we STILL have never had a decent game of that franchise. The fanbase for it is HUUUGE and yet we just continuously get hot garbage. But yeah this Kong game is uhhh...a disgrace. I saw pics of it on twitter the other day and thought people were trolling and using old ps game pics or something.

I hate cash grab games that use a rely on a name or franchise to bring in money for a poor quality product. It’s so scummy as fans will pay the money and should be getting quality that matches the price point
This looks like the same kind of people who made the game Wolf simulator survival rpg game. The pictures they show for it look amazing but once you're in game the graphics suck big time and it crashes a lot.
Now, I'm all for slightly sacrificing graphics to have a better storyline but this? I can't.

I've been recently watching retrospectives of Spider-Man games, because the new one coming out as of the publishing of this comment. Quite a few titles, including the movie tie-in games. Those movie tie-in games, released in 2002 and 2004, on the GAMECUBE, look more fun than this game. On top of those tie-ins, however, I've also watched a retrospective for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 games. Shattered Dimensions, mind you, came out in 2010, and Web of Shadows came out in 2008. Both of which look better than this King Kong game, which released in TWENTY-TWENTY-THREE ON THE XBOX SERIES AND PLAYSTATION 5. There is no excuse for this poor quality at such a steep price.

Graphics arent everything. Valheim is one of the best survival games ive played and it has charming stylized graphics that has low resolution textures and low poly models.

Yeah, its like people choose to only react in extremes because its edgy and funny? I mean YEAH the game doesn't look amazing but it dosn't look horrible. Just... a little below average. Only thing wrong is the price point. 20$? It would be worth a 20$ risk. Not quite worth a 40$ risk.
