    It's quite clear that Mr. Ego has forgotten what it's like to be new to streaming. And yes, most people don't understand just how much work goes into having a consistent average viewer count of 10 or more. I personally know several streamers who don't consistently hit triple digits ( usually between the 60-80 mark ), and that's INCREDIBLY successful.
    Not everyone can be at the top of the pyramid like Otz, SpookyLoopz, Hens, etc. But those at the top are supported by the ones that form the foundation.

    Yee gods I wasn't there for the stream, but I saw it as it blew up on Twitter and I meant to do a bit of digging myself, but as you pointed out he yeeted the VODs. Guess all that attitude crumbled away once the community came down on him. Viewer shaming is so dang gross, but can I just say to all my fellow streamers:
    Last numbers I saw say that 95% of streamers have 0-5 viewers. Do not feel bad that if you have single digits and definitely do not feel bad if you have 10 viewers. There's nothing wrong with having a smaller channel or a smaller community. Just grow and improve and do your best. Streaming is one of my greatest joys and I won't let anyone take that away from me. Good luck out there!

    I used to be an avid member in his streams, but this was before he started caring about numbers and being so toxic. Like there were moments where he'd complain but at the time I thought nothing of it as it was just kind of dbd, but as time progressed he started to show his true colors and I immediately left that community, especially after he was rude to a close friend of mine on stream. Needless to say I'm very happy that this is all coming to light to expose how behind the "just a lil guy act" he's just someone you don't want to be around.

    Omg I can’t believe that this happened to Jacknife, I’ve been a follower of Jack for a while now and he’s one of the chillest, nicest people you’ll ever meet. This saddens me how some people treat others like this over a videogame. I met Jack while I was playing survivor and he was the killer and he was super sweet and kind, no one deserves to be treated like this at all. Thank you for calling this person out

  • @FruityViolet
    @FruityViolet 11 месяцев назад +7

    First off, 10 viewers is heckin awesome. There's nothing wrong with how you play a game, nor does it say anything about your character. People who choose to support smaller streamers, y'all are awesome. There's only one thing that speaks to your character, and that is your actions outside the game. I personally don't really give a fuck if a survivor constantly blinds needlessly or if a killer tunnels. Both sides are just trying to have fun in their own way, and there's nothing wrong with that. At the end of the game, it's "ggs" and "well played." If you feel like you have to say anything more than that, I would highly suggest walking away for a bit and taking a minute to cool off. The #1 thing all of us should do is be mindful of how our actions reflect upon ourselves and others. There is no need to shame people who are just starting out. In fact, when I see a smaller streamer, I'm like, "0 views? Alright, let's go give them a lurk and make that 1." You may not think that makes a difference, but even when I started out, just knowing I had 1 person watching meant the world to me. It gave me the motivation to keep going. Just think about all the streamers you enjoy now. What would've happened if they never got anyone who believed in them? Would you still even be able to watch them? Would they still be streaming? I just want to leave you with those thoughts, and just remember... be the best version of yourself :D

    omg I actually replied to the original tweet when the replies were open and shared my own personal experience with him. The tweet in which the other TTV admits to tunneling out the distortion gamer was in reply to me LOL. Kind of crazy to see that you made a video on this but I'm glad you did. I got shamed out of Mr. Ego's chat a few months ago when I asked him why he called the streamer he was playing against scummy for being jumpscare myers and DCing lmao. As soon as he saw it was a TTV he complained that he wasn't going to be apart of his jumpscare compilation. I wish I had that vod still. If the streamer I was watching at the time was a smaller creator (they were about the same size) I can't imagine how he would treat them. I hope there is more accountability from Mr. Ego going forward.

  • @smol_lucifer
    @smol_lucifer 11 месяцев назад +3

    I failed the challenge as soon as you started the clip...
    Edit: Wow.. That's why I, whenever I join a new streamer and want to check them out, I watch the community. They display and show how the streamer is like. They're the PERFECT mirror.
    Edit: Only recently I had come across a steamer who lost against my killer because they and their team were not as good as they thought they are. In endgame they insulted me and threatened to use their viewers to mass report my account on steam XD and I've to say, I wasn't surprised to find out they're mainly playing as survivor. No I don't think all survivors are bad etc but sadly most main survivor streamers sadly are in the toxic criteria (from my experience) where they shout tunnel, slug, camp etc at you for no reason just because they lost. What I think the funniest part about playing with that ttv was: I had them in a match up 3 times that day but never wanted to play because I had a very bad feeling radiating off of them. At the third time I was like 'alright. Let's go' and won. Only to face that bucket of shit XD
    Anyone should remember no matter what it is, everyone starts at 0. Be it skill in a game, level or subscribers on social media. Everyone had 0 even MoistCritical. And he never forgets that for example but then you get those who let their success get over their head without realizing that's exactly what will cause a downfall.

      Had this happen in my first season of DBD, I was playing artist and versed a 4 man swif of ttv's. Went into one of their chats to say ggwp, and they were being extremely toxic because I forced them to 3 gen and was able to hold it to the point the last 2 dc'd. When I asked why they were being toxic they called me a trash killer and I was the reason killers were scum, it resulted in two of them harassing me off twitch to the point where I let twitch know and they got perma banned for their behaviour which makes me think I wasn't the first person they did it to.
      Small win for me, but after that I just stopped saying gg to ttv's in their stream.

    I was in the chat when this happened, I hadn't been fully paying attention and asked for context, you can see my chat in the beginning. I had been told right before that message that the killer was toxic, BM'd, tunneled, camped, etc etc all the bad stuff. So I was like okay but the attitude made me a little uncomfortable. I ignored that and decided I was being sensitive and just tried to blend into the chat.
    Then the viewer thing was brought up and I just felt sick to my stomach. I immediately left the community and channel when I actually found out what happened (and wasn't just told false info by a mod). I feel guilty for feeding into the whole thing and allowing it to happen (even though I know there's nothing I could've done). I tried to just move with the group and I just feel awful. I suggest we all follow Jackknife, especially ex-viewers like myself, and give them love. I also know I will definitely trust my intuition next time and not feed into this kind of toxic crap.

    As someone who’s still a pretty new streamer, it is really disheartening to not only deal with people who get upset because a game doesn’t go the way they want, but when they make personal attacks or have incredibly nasty behavior. I really don’t understand why people are like that.

When I do get caught again, the killer makes DAMN sure I don’t get out of the match. I understand that. It makes sense. If I get caught a second time, that means I didn’t use my build efficiently enough. It’s not that hard to understand. If I get caught a second time, that means the killer does not want to lose me to distortion again. It’s so simple.

    So I had my first run in with the viewer shaming thing myself, today. For the record, I don't really stream any more due to personal reasons, mainly that I work 60+ hours every week and sometimes, my mental health (and busy schedule) just doesn't just allow me to sit around and play video games for 10+ hours a day. I won't name drop this person, obviously, because I don't want it to turn into some sort of attack on them that they could then flip around, but here's what happened: Streamer is playing in a group of four (swf I think it's called?), run multiple toolboxes with BNP and a flashlight, which in and of itself is fine but I was playing ghostface so it was super rough. I had no kills and one hooks by the time all the by the time three BNP gens popped all at once, there were TWO GENS LEFT like, 3 minutes into the game. I'll be real with you, at that point all niceties are off the table. I 100% admit that I tunneled the person I had first hooked out. They tried body blocking, ofc, but unsuccessfully, where I got three free hits, one of them a down. Fast forward a bit, ofc Streamer and friends three gen themselves, making it very easy for me to patrol gens and slowly get back into the game. At the end I had all of them down but I decide to let one of the better players in the group go (I'm already iridescent one and don't really care if people get out, so it was just my way of saying, hell yea, good shit man).
    In the end game chat, i shit you not, this man types "that's why you aren't affiliate and why you won't EVER be affiliate". I always type gg and then hit continue, but I happened to see his message and I was confused. My steam name is my twitch, and I totally forgot that it had been that way for like two years. I do stream every so often, but because of how well I'm doing in my work, I didn't have to pursue streaming the way I originally wanted to, so I stream like once a week or every two weeks. Naturally, I was curious so I go to this person's twitch, and they have 900ish followers but like 4 viewers. For the record, I do not condone viewer shaming, just pointing out the hypocrisy. I only have 64 followers, but I almost always have 4 people to interact and chill with. So this person, whose entire personality seems to be "I'm affiliate on twitch, you aren't haha" seems to have the same amount of people watching as I do, but for some reason feels the need to shit on me for not being affiliate even though I stream like twice a month? And then I got a bunch of pms on my socials, which I have since taken down telling me to kill myself, to give up on ever being a Streamer since noone wants to watch some "tunneling, dogshit faggot" etc etc. The Streamer themselves, when they saw I was in the chat observing (I was already reporting them for violating twitch TOS at that point) told me they hoped my mother died in her sleep tonight.
    This is a person who has 900+ followers. This person is an affiliate. This is a person who has a platform, and I'll be quite honest, it's disgusting and disappointing. To have everything going your way like this and to still be a bitter, toxic person because you lost in a video game is actually crazy. I hope they see this, and if they do: I hope you get the help you need gamer, I really do.

    thank you aaron! as someone who started streaming recently, less than 20 followers even, i have been really worried about bigger streamers overshadowing me..and i hate that some actually have this mindset to put smaller streamers like me down..but your comments about it really lifted me up.

    a lot of well-known dbd streamers tunnel and then still have thousands, it's just what has to be done sometimes even if it's frowned upon you don't have much of a chance with someone countering you so it makes sense to get the counter out as quick as possible

    Okay but this one streamer went off calling me a pussy all because I "hid" to avoid being tunneled out at 4 gens, banned me from his channel when I came and said gg, he went off on me saying "only pussy's hide I have no respect for people that hide, only people that loop get my respect" (yet is using hubris, enduring, spirit fury) yet the next day he was bitching over being tunneled out at 4 gens...... and said "only losers tunnel bro" 😬😬 yet he's on a partner push.

I'm going to play how I want, so I might not be a big time streamer, but best believe your community is going to know me as tunneling you out at 5 gens. Can't tell me nothing I'm not already used to hearing

    He's basically the 3 survivors I had all in one yesterday. He's just so toxic and disgusting, especially since he is behaving like this over a video game. Honestly I think its pathetic that people who behave like the streamer or his chat, think that their behaviour is warranted and okay; it is not okay.

Then this one other time this Claudette was up standing on something and I couldn’t get her but I could down her she stayed there the whole game so I was like ok bleed out

    The hypocrisy in everything he says... like "good luck getting anywhere being scummy like that" "learn to not be the worst person ever to play with". Maybe he should take his own advice, cause all I'm seeing is scummy behaviour, and them clearly being the worst person ever to play with having an attitude like that.

  • @ragabashmoon1551
    @ragabashmoon1551 11 месяцев назад

    What? No. If the survivor is skilled enough to manage to become unhookable, they've won the match. The killer needs to accept they've lost and let the survivor escape. Those are the rules, and if you disagree and bleed them out, you will be reported and banned for your toxic behavior.
    Yes I am being sarcastic. I was recently the last survivor, bled out at the exit gate by a Ghost Face because he'd already used all the hooks near the door. The ENTIRE 4 minute bleed out too, and even though it was EGC, since I was slugged the EGC slowed to a crawl. Was it fun? No, it wasn't especially since I was playing with a streamer so she had to wait for me to get out of the game. I found it very boring and no it's likely not something I would do (unless the survivor has Boil Over. If you bring Boil Over all bets are off. I hate that perk.) but it is what it is. We all want to win, and doing what you need to do to win (as long as it it isn't cheating) is not toxic IMO, no matter how "toxic" the other side thinks it may be.
