Generally, they're words meant to swiftly and near-carelessly lump groups of people together for the sake of brevity and making talking points that stick.
So I mean, while I guess it wouldn't TECHNICALLY be wrong to call them "BuzzFeed words" because I mean.... BuzzFeed does literally engage in heavy utilization of buzz words, the term is actually just "Buzz words".
@@sotoisme9573 If a word is “buzzing” it’s considered trending and something “in the know”. Buzzfeed is actually named after that term, but has fallen to be mostly irrelevant in comparison to Twitter or TikTok with current content and drama online.

I was in this guy's lobby as a survivor and my name on steam was "choke me wesker" and wouldn't you know it, we vsed a wesker so I had the time of my life. They berated me in end game chat, not the streamer perse but the two friends he was playing with. I have screenshots on my Twitter back in April about this. His friend said I had blue hair, weighed 300 lbs, and someone in his chat told him to tell me to kys so like, they have been problematic for a while
I even went to his chat and asked why they were rude and he backed his friends up

"Phobia" all on its own does not solely mean "fear". It means "fear or aversion", and aversion means "hatred or strong dislike". So the argument of "I can't be (X)phobic, I'm not scared of (X)!" falls apart immediately. I mean, they want to argue etymology, so clearly they know this already, right?
the added definition to the word phobia meaning “aversion” was something that was added to the definition of the word in more recent years. Aversion was not apart of the definition of that word until more recently and im sure everyone can figure out why.

Holy shit it's (can't say username)! My friends and I played a game with him and checked out his channel. We are all gay. He knew we were gay and said he was cool with gay people and us. So we were like okay so he's a cool straight guy that isn't problematic. So we would play with him from time to time when he was streaming. Then he let out some of his transphobia, first by us telling him what the difference was between the old pride flag and the newer inclusive one (this was before the other flags were added) telling him he should show support and equip the progress flag. He said he would use the "normal" one because he isn't down with trans. Yeah that was a, oh okay - he's problematic realization and we started educating him on why he shouldn't be transphobic and he seemed more open minded about it - so we just figured he was a young ignorant sheltered straight guy that was probably homophobic in HS but grew out of it and would probably grow out of his transphobia. Then he gave this game a negative review on Steam saying it was being taken over by the ABC mafia and seemed more and more transphobic. We dropped him quickly and unfollowed him on everything. Crazy to see him featured on this channel, but not surprising.

Exactly. You can use basic common sense and hold your tongue. You know "nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all?" Some people hate on large communities because they feel they have a platform with people that will back up their behavior and even actively encourage it to such an unhealthy degree it's insane, others do it to get notoriety out of the arguments that are so likely to ensue. For the people who just wag their tongues constantly because "he said she said" rumors and misinformation that get spread around like wildfire though, I really wonder how they can make such baseless, harmful accusations of such a large majority of people and then do nothing in their power or go out of their way to even see other sides of the argument and make a fair judgement based off that. If you've seen the people who get tossed out of homes because of who they are, fearful for their lives and just wanting to live...I don't see how any human being with a shred of actual decency can't just take it upon themselves to at least sympathize a little with their situation. No one assumes you support the bad people in the lgbtqia. This is wild! I was the person asking the questions in the TTVs chat and I couldn’t believe the things he was saying to me when I was just trying to ask simple questions, there was no correlation between my questions and his answers. What’s funny is, I messaged my friend afterwards (who has a trans sister) and told him about the streamer and my ‘conversation’ with him and I said “I would love for somebody like Aaron to do a video on him” and here we are! Thank you! 💜

I would like to publicly thank my brilliant mother who caught me as a kid spouting homophobic comments and explained to me why that was wrong.
I very nearly could have ended up like this guy, but now I’m living a much happier and better informed life and have even come to terms with my own sexuality.
That is amazing! This is also the exact reason why we need to teach people about this.

I'm not trans but I am intersex and I've faced some online harassment in team group chats calling me a hermaphrodite when that's extremely offensive. I personally don't care what you identify as, just enjoy the game, they're not affecting the person directly. I also lost my mind when he said trans people are drag queens/kings when I myself am a drag king, I use that term because I'm a heavily masculine queer woman, but to say that drag queens/kings are trans is just wild man. I hope that streamer gets some help because attacking other people is a sign of a bigger internal problem that hasn't been resolved

As a trans person who often deals with people of this same mindset, I want to say thank you to Aaron and everyone else who stands up and defends trans people. It means a ton to me, and I’m sure it means a lot to others as well. The amount of hatred some people have for anyone who is different than them is insane and I hope the world can grow out of that, but I know that chance is slim to none. I was the person leaving the comments / questions in the TTVs chat and I’d like to say that you’ll always have an ally in me. I cannot stand people with bigoted mindsets and when I saw that this guy was live, I wanted to challenge his views and as we all saw from his responses to me, I don’t think he even knows why he stands for the things he does. He just appears extremely misguided and almost brainwashed. That's funny, but I gotta say, pretty useless in terms of actual conclusions... A really low percent of people are criminals overall, doesn't mean there's no crime or correlation between people and crime.
The logic in blaming being trans for harming children is completely lost on me however, that's on the mind of the person, not the "trans" part of them.

Drag Queens are not Transgender. They can be but they are not one and the same. You can be both but one is literally a pass time while the other is someone’s gender identity. Personally as a trans woman who passes I fear being mistaken for a drag Queen.
It’s not a performance it’s literally my gender identity, I would rather be a cis woman than a trans one but that’s not how life works.
As for us being groomers, I get anxious around kids because they are our future and they are precious and should be protected and nurtured.

Oh of course bathrooms, I generally avoid going to public restrooms but when I do I know if I went to the men’s I would be told I’m in the wrong bathroom. On top of that I don’t have a penis and I have breasts so I can’t exactly get avoid being seen for what I am.
I am psychically weaker than my mother and older sister and I stand at an impressive 5’7.
I genuinely fear the woman’s restroom because if a group of 2 to 3 female bigots were to attack me I’d probably die.
I go to the bathroom to relieve myself and that’s it.
If it would make people more comfortable if we had a queer bathroom I’d use it.

personally, I don't support transgenderism. I'll support gay people, lesbian people, and trans people as long as they just do their own thing and leave me and kids out of it but that doesn't mean I'm transphobic. this guy takes it a bit far though. there's a certain line that you can cross between jokes that mean nothing and flat out disrespect. I've known a few trans people who were actually pretty chill so I can't say I hate trans people. they genuinely believe teaching kids that [thing] exist = pushing kids into being that [thing]. they can't even consider the idea that having knowledge about things that don't directly impact them might be beneficial, for the next generation and even themselves. i know lots of things that don't really apply to who i am, but they help me in understanding the world and people around me. which is a good thing!

Not to mention altered/cherry picked history being taught is already an issue in American schools. I appreciate you, Aaron and the videos you post. I know they range a lot and mainly center around "toxic", but it is nice to have someone approach these topics with a level head and kind heart. As a transman who used to stream DBD, this kind of treatment in game and beyond the screen seems as common as rainy weather. I know some like the rain while others don't, but regardless you have to put on layers of clothes before facing the world. Who doesn't love a good metaphor? Anyway, I hope others will continue to support you and the content you create as much as I hope one day we can be seen for what we are: a human being with real thoughts, feelings, and ambitious just like everyone else. Instead of being dehumanized and considered mentally unstable monsters.

I actually can answer why they all become obsessed with the word, and it's ToS. If they fight the word, they think they can't be got by services for it. So, say you say you aren't a murderer, because murder means you killed people with intent, they would argue that those people just happened to be there so it wasn't murder. That's the logic loop. If you push the word itself into a different context by force, you aren't that thing that would get you in trouble.

12:31 if this is true then how do you explain de-transitioners. The way you frame it makes it sound like this sort of internal self-identification is infallible. If it's not infallible, then you cannot say with 100% certainty that they do know who they are, only that they think they know.
A huge portion of detransitioners detransition due to external factors such as pressure from family. Some people don't just know, some people have body dysmorphia and mistake it for gender dysphoria, some women were r***d or had traumatic things happen and think it is just a choice to switch genders for their safety or get psychological issues that do give them feelings of hating their body and misunderstand it as gender dysphoria. But less than 1% of people who transition, detransition. And of that 1% a majority of them detransition not because they were wrong about being trans but because of peer pressure or not feeling safe. I think that with those numbers it is safe to say that trans people do in fact know who they are.
