    SK XIII, hey buddy sorry to find out that you have an issue with your RS660. I still don’t have any issues with mine. I sent your request and video to my contact at my dealer in Miami Florida. I’m waiting to hear back as soon as I know more I will let you know. Ride safe. Talk to you soon.
    OK I got a reply back from my dealer. Definitely not a reliability issue it’s a mechanical issue. They had it happen to a couple of
    RS660s and also a couple of RSV4’s. It’s very simple, it’s only a sensor and it is under warranty so just take it in get the sensor swapped out and you’re good to go, Fixed and resolved. You are correct when you have that red “R” it definitely means that your quick shifter is not operable/not working. Ride safe brother. Hope this helps you.

    I think R = reserve shift or GP shift activated. I think might because you tune the bike with Gabro Racing Map and it got bugged. Maybe try to reflash it.

    It’s really simple. Two methods available to you right now. As it is still under warranty take it back to the dealership. Firstly the exhaust won’t bother them (ever seen a HD with a stock exhaust as they are extremely quiet from the factory). Plus the dealership can not possibly tell (or try and find out) that your ECU has been altered. It will possibly be a simple code that they will check and erase. If, you are still concerned about potential warranty issues by yourself an OBDLINK2. At around $100 it’s a good investment as the onboard diagnostic unit will read faults so you can see what the red light means and if required it can also clear it (it’s basically the same unit the dealerships use anyway). It can also be used to reprogram your ECU (you called it tune) as they use these devices to also adjust fuel maps and throttle position setting (amongst others) on bikes with Ride by wire throttles. They don’t work on bikes with cable throttles from a tuning perspective however do still read and cancel warning indicators just in case. I have a couple of these units as I have several bikes and cars and are my initial go to device before going to the dealership. Also great if you are past the warranty period to helps save money. I hope this helps. Reach out if needed and I’ll give you the exact unit specific to your bike. 👍😎🇦🇺

      this is great mate! I have the UpMap, which reads codes too, so will check it out as I am going through everyones advice on here. Yeah I am thinking that if this issue persists, best to just take it into the shop and see what they say about warranty 😎

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 Год назад

      @@SK_XIII 👍😎. The UpMap is just a brand of an OBDLINK with some tailored features minus some of what a 2 will do (I have it on one of my Ducati’s). I’d remove all visual signs that the engines map has been altered. Set ECU changes they won’t be able to tell and I wouldn’t be concerned with the exhaust. Use you device so at least when you do go to the dealership they won’t be able to BS you (or as much) as I heard stories about many inexperienced riders being taken advantage of from a financial perspective. Good luck.

    I race this bike in Wera. I had this happen about once every 5-8 times I started the bike. I usually could just turn the bike off and back on, and then the shift icon would go from orange to black and the quickshifter/autoblipper would work. I eventually fixed this issue by getting a new quickshifter wire. I didn't have to get the mechanical piece, just the wire that plugs into the wire harness, and runs to the shift rod (and is held in place with 3 small screws). I've had a few race weekends since, and I haven't had any issues with quickshifter. I highly recommend you get a new quickshifter wire/electronic piece.

    I could be way off, but in a forum for the tuareg 660 people have had quickshifter issues when a wire running down by the quickshifter, for the quickshifter, has broken inside. The wire could intermittently connect/disconnect as well.

    I have a 2022 Tuono Factory that I recently bought and has about 900 miles on it. I have had the QS lock out at random times. Turning the bike off doesn't always remedy it, as you've seen. I had the bike in for the initial break in service and talked to the tech about it. He wasn't sure what was going on. Well, the day after my service, it went out again and I emailed them pics and video of the dash. They had me come in and they replaced the module under warranty. I have only driven it about 50 miles since, and it has been fine. I don't think they will care about your exhaust/tune as this is a known issue and unrelated. Good luck!

    make sure the shift lever is securely (and properly) attached to the transmission end - any looseness can confuse the QS sensor... and as another said below, the "R" indicator is for a "reverse" (GPshift) shift pattern I believe... try disabling/enabling the QS in the dash menu.

    That is odd? I have had the same issue on my 2021 Tuono 660. What triggered it the first time was I tried to start the bike in gear with the kickstand down "my bad". I shut it off for a minute and I still had the same red gear. I tried to look it problem on my phone and five minutes later it was gone. The second time it happened I was warming the bike up. Ridding it in neutral down the hill from my house. While rolling in neutral I put it in gear and got the red sprocket again. I rode it to the gas station to meet my friend and after getting gas and starting it five minutes later it was gone. It seems that the electronics are temperamental but, in my case, it has aways corrected itself. So to all of you have not done the above don't.

    The minor performance increase from a tune to be had out of this already highly strung 100hp 2cyl is not worth the increase of reliability issues. I’m looking to get a 2023 rs660 soon. I’ve learned long ago never to buy the first couple years of a completely new machine whether it be car or bike unless you have the patience/resources to deal with issues. Because yours is tuned I won’t count this as a point against the reliability in my eyes, I wouldn’t dare tune this bike til 2024-25 when the bike community as a whole has more experience & knowledge with them. I want to see some high mileage ones.
