  • The possum delivers yet another amazing vocal performance of his classic hit song "If Drinking Don't Kill Me (Her Memory Will)". A song that tells his own story in a way only Jones can.

You can listen to a dozen live performances of Jones doing the same song and they will all be different. No one ever got more from a lyric or a melody than the Possum.

It’s a travesty that this great song, an anthem to country music’s drinking genre, as sung by George Jones, using that massively creative vocal gift of his, NEVER REACHED NUMBER ONE!!!!! It ain’t right, it ain’t right…it just AIN’T RIGHT!!

After taking my 4 year old daughter to go see George at the Austin TX Rodeo about 4 years ago, she became obsessed with his music and I played this song every morning for her as I drove her to preschool. I will never forget her asking me "Daddy...what is a Still"....THANKYOU Mr. Jones for all that you did and having the balls to never deviate from who you truly are....CHEERS !!!

it is so sad how country station's claim to mourn the death of Mr Jones but they still don't play his music, at all. Shame on you. Your crappy pop stations would have never existed without the late great George "Possum" Jones. George, I never had the blessing of seeing you in concert but if there is an afterlife I am first in line to buy you a shot. RIP
