George Jones- Tennessee Whiskey

- Here is a man dubbed "the greatest living country singer" singing his classic tune Tennessee Whiskey with the Jones Boys live on his late 90's TV Show on the former TNN network. So sad that TNN no longer exists, they had such wonderful programming for true country fans. RFDTV is good, but they are no TNN.
Since TNN no longer exists and this is not an original recording I do not believe this to be a copyright infringement however I claim no rights or ownership. I believe this constitutes a 'fair use' of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US Copyright Law. In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. My sole purpose in posting these "Classic Country" related videos is my own attempt to make the younger generation aware of these older artists and what they contributed to music. This is how Tennessee Whiskey was meant to sound and anyone trying to change perfection is a fool
Exactly 💯
Not to be contrary, I believe Coe's version is the best version. He laid the blueprint and man does he sound like the bottom of a bottle.
RIP George! Much respect. Siting in my back yard right now listening to George Jones and drinking a glass of Tennessee whiskey. In Tennessee! Life is good.
All those "country rappers" need to listen to this.
Number one country singer

he's like the Elvis of country music my opinion......
I so, believe that he was greeted at the Pearly Gates by a whole lot of Oldies but Goodies, Marty, Lefty, Patsy, the three Hanks, Tammy, Waylon, and Johnny, Elvis, Ernest, Faron, Jim Roger and and Patti. And oh what a Jam Session it must be..........I was country too, in the 60's and I Always, thought it was Kewl.
I love this song.

The fact that Chris Stapleton doesn’t give credit to GJ every damn time he sings this song is a crime. POOR FORM.
Which clerks, and hammerjacks. None of me,1974/.
It was originally recorded by David Allan Coe
It sure was, in fact I think the album was called Tennessee Whiskey. Coe did it two or three years before Jones recorded it. Then Jones released it in his "Shine On" album in the mid 80's and I think he had a number one with it, or at least in the top ten. Coe's version didn't do too well on the charts but I think it was equally as good. It could be because George Jones has a much larger fan base, or that the song fit Jones' personal life at that time, he had just married Nancy and was getting off of booze right at the time this was released.
I forgot that David Alan Coe cut this! But your 100 percent correct!
