Kind of amazes me that WN carries more passengers than UA. I fly on both the UA MAX 8/9 nonstop between CLE & LAX on a fairly regular basis in First & have no issues flying on them. I retired from the airline industry 20 years ago that I began in the 1970s. First class (I know it's referred to a lot as Business today) is nothing like the service provided 50/60 years ago. Of course, fares have come down a lot over the past decades but food was served throughout the flight upfront, according to the meal course. Avgeeks would have a field day back them; Caesar salads prepared seat side, prime rib carved, etc., all on fine China. I do like that UA allows you to choose from 6 meal selections a couple of days in advance of your flight. Awww, to fly a 707 or DC-8S again!
United is a quality airline. One of the best trips I've flown with them was NRT-ORD on a 747-400 (it was a few years back - they don't fly the 747 anymore). Great airline, great aircraft and great crew!😎😀
I have no problem with the max 8. I have flown on the 8 and 9:00 several times with both Southwest Airlines and united. I feel that it is still safer than driving and Airlines can't make a living if their planes are crashing so I feel safe flying on them with the airlines that have them
I have flown a Max 8 twice with Southwest. Quiet and Comfortable and I have no qualms about flying it in the future. Anyway, probably the safest plane in the sky just now with all the scrutiny it has received of late.
I love, love United Airlines, I've had such great experiences especially when going and coming back from Tokyo last year, what a service, what a great flight experience and even the meals were 3000% better than I ever imagined. Kudos to this video.
Thanks for the video! Im flying on a 737 max 8 soon. Im pretty sure I've flown on it before but for some reason im quire nervous about getting on one now (maybe cuz of all the news) but seeing this video and everyones enthusiasm and trust over the aircraft gives me a little more peace of mind. Maybe I'll even upgrade to business class!
I flew on 737 max 8 last month going from Toronto to Vancouver and I feel like there is no problem flying on it when pilots retrained on the MAX from NG
I would have no hesitation flying on any of the 737 Max series aircraft. I've flown on several already and had no reason to feel unsafe. Let's face it over the years there have been many aircraft that initially got off to a rocky start from a safety point of view and they ended up being perfectly fine and very much loved.
The issue is not the aircraft it's the poorly trained pilots that only understood how to taxi, take off, and set the machine to land. The very junior Ethiopian Captain and undertrained Indonesian captaisn did not understand how Boeing's systems work. Fortunately in USA pilots are *far* better trained
My experience flying UA over the years has been that the entire flight from check in to arrival has been either all great or all bad, the food service being the deciding part of the trip. The meal you got was an Economy class meal served as Economy class, that was not First Class service. It was nice but not worth the cost! But in all fairness, no US carrier measures up to offering FC service. If I had a choice of carriers to fly on, UA would be my last choice but since AA and DL would also rank as last, UA would still be last of the 3. You mentioned you were flying DL A220 on to Seattle. Are you familiar with the A220? It isn't the same as the 737 Max 8 as it is much smaller. I hope you had a good trip on the A220. Thanks for sharing your trip and as long as you were happy with UA, that is the main thing!
Hi. I work at ORD in the same parts you were in. Did you fly to Fairbanks for anything other than just to fly? Lol. I have flight benifits myself and plan on flying a lot more.
If that's the only aircraft available, then we have no choice but to fly the type on a particular route. Between ORD and MDW, SW, UA, and AA, there's a lot of Max 8 and 9 flights. It's a shame what happened. My issue is that boeing just operates and treats accidents as the cost of doing business and the FAA allows it. A lot of people died horrible deaths and it shouldn't be treated lightly.
Don't be a simp. Those crashes in the 3rd world were caused by incompetent pilots who prayed to Allah instead of trying to fix the TCAS problem. USA pilots are far better trained which is why they don't crash planes the same way Europe and 3rd world does.
I can't understand why so many videos make statements like "Chicago is the 3rd largest city....with a population of 2.xxx million people. In China, that's a suburb. The metropolitan population should be quoted instead and not the city, which was left behind seconds after the jet took off. It can be very confusing to many people abroad who see this endless suburbia below. They must think that Chicago has mostly empty houses.
I would believe United is quality airline but , as you can see here, attendants don't do meeting of passengers at entry . In my flight with United I had stock on entry by butt of attendant - she been banded while taking something from lower cabinets and her ass was first what you can see at the door.
Ummm I feel way safer driving or on the ground then I do in a airplane I'm afraid of flying and afraid not heights and suffer from generalized anxiety disorder as well as complex PTSD and just watching this I'm like sweating and feeling super hot and my nerves are completely shot reading your subtitles saying that there was fatal crashes etc does not help :/ I have to take a midnight flight from PDX to ORD next month as me and myb wife are b moving out of state riding first class and will have our animals below our seats with us in n there kennels it's a 4 hour flight and I'm so stressed and scared that I have lost so much sleep these past days just thinking about it does anybody have any tips to ease my mind, we leave at like 11:50pm and get to ORD at 5 something in the morning
United was a quality airline until they started focusing on nonsense like DEI. Let me be clear. I am a woman. I DON'T care what color the pilot is or what gender he/she is. My concerns are that the pilot is PROPERLY EDUCATED and EXPERIENCED. That's it. I'm grabbing the popcorn as I watch companies destroy themselves with the DEI, climate change, and social score nonsense.
Oh ffs. You act like they pluck anyone from the street and just throw them in the cockpit- as if not everyone has to go to pilot school and pass the same rigorous checks and tests to get their wings. People other than white men can be successful too believe it or not. Tell us you’re a prejudiced MAGAt without telling us you’re a prejudiced MAGAt.

Excellent report. The meal was well presented and inviting. The salad seemed very fresh. Good on United. Thank you for sharing your travels with us.
Love flying our Max8 and Max9 birds looking forward to our Max10's too.
I love all 737 Max aircraft and would fly it every day if I could..

I still fly Boeing 737 max great videos as always class😊

United Airlines are awesome great service friendly cabin crew 😊
Even w/ SAS’s departure from Star Alliance & Asiana’s takeover by Korean Air, United is still the best U.S. airline.
I just Subscribed

The food on UA fking sucks. Even when you're in Polaris you're best advised to eat on the ground and bring some of your own food to eat mid-flight.

I have flight benifits myself and plan on flying a lot more.
Nice report....thank you. But why the circuitous from PHX to ORD to FAI? Wasn't there a flight through SFO or DEN?
Currently United only operates to Fairbanks via Chicago though they do have Denver flights starting soon
So you had to fly from Chicago to Fairbanks to get to Seattle, why not Chicago nonstop to Seattle?
Because going via Alaska is way cooler
You didn’t get offered a flat bed at “ First class “ but it looks like business class.
Americans don't know the difference between First Class and Business Class. It has all features like a Business Class.

I have to fly a MAX PHX to JFK in a few weeks. As a nervous flyer thanks for the reminder that they still are safer than driving!
WAY safer. You'll be fine.
The distance flight ✈️ time is similar to Peru 🇵🇪
Terminal 1 is so much better than terminal 3.
Didnt know United even flew into Fairbanks, i figured only Alaska airlines.

I like SPRIT SouthWest Air Plane

United compared to many of the other carriers is overpriced and very corporate. You are not anyone special to them.
