I believe this is the tamest performance I've ever seen from Jerry. He really gets after it in his younger days.
I saw him perform when i was a kid in the 60's. He truly was a wild man back then. I somehow managed to get backstage & get his autograph on the show program along with his cousin Mickey Gilley. I still have it after all these decades haha
I'm an American and Jerry Lee was a Rock-n-Roll Giant in Music who we just lost 10/28/2022 RIP, I think he was 88
He was a wild man for sure! He once set a piano on fire 🔥 😂
Jerry wanted to "close the show" (be the last act), but was put on next to last, so as he finished he set the piano on fire and said, "Follow that". Killer lore.
I love watching his performances from the 50’s, they called him the ‘Killer’ he is the best!
Definitely check him out as a young man , he was a trip. Got to see him and even though he was along in age he rocked the hall ! We danced till there wasn’t any air left at all ☮️
I don’t know where Jerry Lee is from, but Wild One and Great Balls a’fire are definitely in the Memphis rockabilly style of early rock and roll…..50’s style. Great Balls of Fire was one of the first radio hits I remember as a child, back in 1957.
Jerry was born in Ferriday Louisiana.
The Killer knocked it out of the park!!! Jerry is a very good singer and one of the greatest pianists ever. Loved the performance.
Loved Jerry Lee Lewis and like someone else said this was kind of mild for him ! LOL I also saw the video in his younger days where he set the piano on fire- It was awesome !!!
Jerry Lee was the Killer!!
There's no sleeping at a Jerry Lee Lewis show. Nice reactions.
He even has Dave Edmunds on guitar. Pretty great.
This is the beginning of Rock N Roll.
There's a movie called Great Balls of Fire starring Dennis Quaid, it's pretty good, check it out even if you don't react. Great reaction
One of the early pioneers of Rock and roll ❤
I've never seen him sit so still...but of course, he's older here. He was certainly a great ball of fire in his day. Chuck Berry is another old rock n roller not to be missed.
fun fact: he and Elvis were part of what was called the 'million dollar quartet'(there is a photo on the wall at Sun Studio of them together).....he and Elvis only lived about 8 miles from each other! he at the Lewis Ranch in Nesbit, MS and Elvis of course at Graceland in south Memphis near the MS state line.
I'm HERE FOR THE FIRE!!! WHAT a JAM, YA'LL!!! LOVE ME SOME JERRY LEE LEWIS!! Such MOVIN' STUFF!! Can't sit still to THIS!!
" Dave " is Dave Edmonds check out his solo stuff ......Born to be with you ....i hear you knocking ...crawling from the wreckage girls talk...to name a few
You should watch his videos from the 50's.
One of the Founding Fathers.. Back in the day he'd hop in his Cadillac, pop a brew and 1burn rubber out of there, lol.
Well done you two - a far more honest and natural "reaction" to Jerry than some others on YT. You might even envy me as I saw him "live" many times. (PS: would you like a HUMAN captioner?)
Believe it or not he made some of the best country songs of the 1960's too! Try, There Stands The Glass, and On The Back Row, Green Green Grass Of Home..
Good ole Rockabilly music 🤘
You got to see him on the Steve Allen Show 1957 back when he was young and naturally wild
He will always be "the wild man of rock'n'roll". What a fun and innocent era to be in, if we could only go back 😀
the killer !!!
EL MAS GRANDE.
Love Jerry lee
Watch the Grenada dhow from 1963-1964 and listen to Live at the Star Club...then imagine the performance visually!
Back in the day when I was in the concert biz I was the production manager on a Jerry Lee Lewis show. In addtion to sound, lights & staging I brought a 9' Steinway Concert Grand piano for him to play. Before the show I took his production manager aside and told him to let Jerry know that I would be very upset if he used anything but his hands, like his feet for instance, to play that piano. He complied. It was still a great show. ;O)
PS That piano was previously owned by Willie Nelson, who we did a lot shows at the time.
" The Killer" never will there be another one like him 😎
Jerry was a very good singer but he was a magnificent pianist and performer.
Love your 2 reaction, I'm 70 been listening to him for years
Legend!!!
Look for Jerry Lee on the Steve Allen Show. That was one of his first times on TV. Not sure of the date but late 50s or early 60s. Worth a look.
A Legend !
👍👍👍💕🇸🇪😎
He was "a wild one."
you guys are so fun to watch. make me smile.
Bad ass jerry lee was truely a concert to have been to🤘❤️
The real king of rock'n roll❤
❤❤❤
Jerry sort of screwed up his career when he married his 14 year old cousin . His energy is amazing . Another wild man from this era was Little Richard ,you might want to check out hid Long Tall Sally and other songs
In this video you can see his powerful voice that has been around for a few years. How would he have been younger?
Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Swaggart, and Mickey Gilley are all cousins from Ferriday, Louisiana.
Check out one of his early performances. Will flip you out…
Take a look at Jerry Lee's visit to the Tom Jones Show. They make an incredible duo.
By that concert, Jerry was at his best......
You should watch Little Richard back in the 50’s
Hi **BeautifulCouple** i am sure someone else in the comments already mentioned this BUT just in case i am going to there is a movie about his life that ya might want to check out sometime called **Great Balls Of Fire** **Luv** this reaction so so MUCH!! YAY
greetings and love from Germany again. The very young Jerry Lee was influenced by boogie woogie, rhythm and blues, as well as gospel and country music; he combined all styles in his piano playing. By the time he was 14, he already had the style he would later use in his recordings: with his left hand he would create a strong boogie-woogie background, while on the right he would play fast, gospel-infused melodies.
Yes, Jerry Lee married his cousin's daughter in 1958. So his niece second degree, which is allowed in most countries.Yes, she was 13 years young. What nearly ended his carreer. Priscilla Presley was 14 when she moved into Graceland to live with Elvis. They had no problems. That was in America in the fifties/sixties. In all states, minors are also allowed to marry with parental consent and/or a court. In some states, this is not required if the bride is pregnant. The minimum age is between 12 and 17 years old, depending on the state, but 27 states do not have a legal minimum age. It sounds crazy, right. Well, Jerry Lee was also a fighter. Jerry Lee's records were taken off the radio programs. Lewis had no choice but to play in small clubs. It wasn't until the early 1960s that he laboriously worked his way back to the top. He had a few hits and was gradually accepted by the public again. However, the great era of rock 'n' roll was over, and so the big success failed to materialize. As the last survivor of the famous so-called "Million Dollar Quartet" (which also included Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins), he released the album Last Man Standing in 2006 with 22 guest stars, including Jimmy Page, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Tom Jones and Rod Stewart. In 2010, Lewis released the follow-up album, Mean Old Man, which also featured a host of high-profile guest stars.
In October 2014, his new album Rock & Roll Time was released. Even in his 80s, Lewis was still touring regularly, but after suffering a stroke in February 2019, he had to temporarily stop playing due to losing control of his right hand. In February 2020, he declared that he could play the piano again and announced a new album. Jerry Lee Lewis died on 28 October 2022 at the age of 87. Hell Yeah, he was the Killer. BTW..the nickname Killer was given to him in school by a classmate after Jerry attempted to strangle one of his teachers in a brawl....At least that's how it's told. Hope to see more of him here on your channel. Have a peaceful weekend and stay safe...
🙂He's got Dave Edmunds on guitar.........one of the best..........
Y'all have great energy also I feel it here in Florida 🎶🎶😎
Play these 3 from the 1950’s..there’s no substitute for youth

Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis.
When is this video from? Can you tell us? Must be the 80’s….he looks in his 50’s…..His big time was late 1950’s.
Shake it, but don't you break it. Wrap it up and I will take it!
After he married his 14yr old cousin he was basically exiled from the USA for many years.
You're correct, except he was exiled from the UK.
Y’all know he’s from Louisiana huh?
the killer.
lttle richard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you do more of him. Check out his 'Sessions' album. He's joined by some of rock's best musicians. Almost all his music is dance music. It's hard to sit still when he's playing.
You guys did a great job reacting to this.
Jerry Lee Lewis became a non-grata person for marrying his 13 year old cousin. She's now is an old woman and gave an interview not long ago but I was not interested in listening to it. I don't know if they had children.
No talent like that today. And never will be, That was no auto tune B.S.
There's no sleeping at a Jerry Lee Lewis show. Nice reactions.
