I'd like to give you my personal thanks for this video, I'm repairing my old Peavey XM6 and this is super helpful! Channels 1 & 4 have never worked, so hopefully I'll fix that. Thanks!

@@waltmooredanwilson8754 Done! I recorded videos of the XM6 disassembled if you want to check them out... ...I couldn't fix the broken channels (1 & 4). I thought cleaning them would do the job because I couldn't see any difference between the broken ones and the other four, but no suck luck. :-( However I DID paint the PA and TLS4 monitors gold and aged-copper, and they look BEAUTIFUL. I'll post a video soon.
These amps are BADASSS not only for vocals but as a EDRUM amp. I bought mine new over 30 years ago with two 15 inch peavey speakers at a place called Guitar Showcase in Campbell CA. Extremely powerful with UNLIMITED EQing. Never had 1 issue with my XR600c and in fact I just turned it on! Time to jam on my EDRUM kit. BEST INVESTMENT IN MUSIC GEAR IVE EVER MADE. Great video sir. No issues with mine at this time but it never has been cleaned internally.

I've had one for 15 years bought it off some dude in a band called hobo erotic Fresno Ca paid $20 I've owned many amps and I can say peavey stuff is the real muthafucking deal built like a tank tons of clean power never fails Harley peavey is a genius too bad they closed down that beautiful factory all to save a buck
I own a Peavy XR-600B, and this video also helped me out so much. I read the manual but got lost. I think I plugged something in wrong, and although it didn't blow a fuse, something else is going on. Great video to see what everything does and how to use it.

Great video, I was looking for a guide for repairing my unit (I've got no bass following a loud bang when in transit, and I'm trying to see if I blew a capacitor). Great video to help with the disassembly and learning the ins and outs of what everything does! Thanks so much! :D
I have one of these that I cleaned like you did and it works ok but after working for 5 min or so it shuts down and power light goes out. After it cools a few minutes it powers up but does the same thing after working a few minutes. Do you have any idea what this could be?
Thank you for checking out my video and for subscribing to my channel. I really appreciate it. I think you may have a transformer or capacitor over heating. I'm not real sure at the moment. Sometimes components will over heat and stop things from working. Then they will cool down and reconnect. I'll try and help you out in any way that I can. Take care and God Bless.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been very busy lately. There are several reasons why fuses blow. The most common is a short circuit somewhere withing the unit. Another reason is an over load of current, which can be caused by a faulty component. In some cases, fuses simply age and wear out. My best recommendation when dealing with a blown fuse is to simply replace the fuse, of course with a new fuse of the proper amperage rating. If the new fuse blows immediately or very soon after replacement, there is obviously a problem within the unit which must be corrected by a qualified service technician. Anyway, thanks for your comment. If you haven't done so yet, I invite you to subscribe to my channel for more videos that might be of interest to you. Take care and God Bless.
Make sure you don't play around with those big ol' capacitors, folks (wink) Just refurbed mine -- the XLRs were pretty tough to slip by the plastic fascia -- mine also have metal sleeve caps on them (not 'all' plastic). Had to de-solder the power cable from the inside due to massive fray outside of the strain relief (plastic ring/clamp). Also take advantage of an empty shell to clean things up on the outside -- a dilution of Simple Green and water with a dish scrub brush works great. Then wipe clean with a damp cloth :)

Have you ever blown a fuse? These things are built like tanks. I have an 1980-somthing 600c that I plug my phone into & play my drums with at high volume too. Even have my kick mic"d up & it's thunderous. Thanks for the cleaning tips. 👍

hELLO nICE VIDEO ONE qUESTION, -- I have a peavey xr600f, and the equipment works with one single cable only. If I change the cable and I have three more.. it does not work. . With the cable that does work it works fine in every outlet connecting to the speaker, but I can never get two speakers to work at the same time. Done many tests same results. Is it possible that the amplifier may be reporting a failure when connecting two cables at the same time?
