Great info! I've been meaning to get out to kayak Dunlap. I was dreading the wakeboard boats though. But, now with the cooler weather it might be ok. I see you use a prop drive with no problems. I have just about every type of kayak aside from whitewater (sold those) I'd be launching from 35 unless you know of a better place further down to save a little time. If you ever need a kayak buddy hit me up. At present I have about 12 kayaks and no one to fish/yak with. Thanks for the great content I subscribed and hit the bell. Manny
Thank you for the support! I know you can launch at Schumans Beach and its closer to the dam. There is also a sign for Outlaw River Rentals. I've seen people take out there when the water was low, but not sure about it now. I'd love to do some fishing with ya!
just spoke with a game warden (at the FM1117 overpass) he said Dunlap was only about 2 feet from being at capacity for water. Its only accessible by boat though correct?
Correct. The majority of the lake is private property. The boat ramp under I35 is the only public land on the lake. You'll usually see boaters/kayaker's/tubers all hanging out there.
That's a shame. Like Lake McQueeney, its a public lake with virtually no public access. As a bank fisherman, this makes me sad. Id like to see what kind of catfish come out of there in the next couple years. Hopefully some big ones. @@SkinnyWaterKayakAdventures
I have several videos on catfish from Dunlap. There are some big girls in there. Had one completely destroy a Penn 4000 that I had caught alligator gar on with no problems.
been catching catfish right now. love fishin lake dunlap again
Heck yeah man! Glad you're having some good luck! Might see ya out there!
Looks like the water is coming
Yes sir! It's on the way! Looks crazy different already! Hopefully the fishing will get even better!
