I got the Mini 3 as well last week. It's sitting on my desk bc I don't have time to read the directions on how to fly it. Been crazy busy. Lol.... Shouldn't be hard as a have flown RC planes, helicopters, etc.

Interesting. I’m starting with an Avata that a buddy had just sitting in the box for the last year and a half. Now these mini 2 se ones are really cheap but they look pretty awesome that I might get one now
That’s super exciting! No need to be scared - take it to an open field like a school or conservation area on the weekend. Don’t even focus on photos just flying. I don’t have a beginners guide video specifically but I have a lot of tips in my long format content 👍🚁
Update. Got my first flight today. It went well. Didnt have much time since batteries were only half charged from package. Reverse controls also a challenge but will practice more. :) i did a hand catch btw 😂
Make sure you’re shooting in 2.7k video and exporting it in full resolution. I notice a lot of these drones default at 1080p even tho they can shoot higher
If you’re someone who does not have much experience I’d say the DJI are the easiest to learn how to fly. I would suggest getting a model that has obstacle avoidance so that you could actively track you on the bike safely. However this still takes some getting used to. I’d say if you can handle mountain biking you can handle drones. Enjoy!!
First make sure you’re filming in 2.7k and Make sure to download the video directly to your computer first to keep it high resolution. Then let the RUclips app crop when creating the short - hope this helps!
Received mine for Christmas did my first flight yesterday and I am actually in love😂😂 Soon getting my Drone license and been practicing with a cheap drone from Amazon that was like under $40 now have the DJI mini se and it’s completely different! So much easier to use pretty smooothhhhh🩵

Did you ever lose connection with the drone? I want to fly my mini se 2 in the city, for example under bridges or near train yards/ highways. Do you think it will lose connection faster in these busy areas?
Hey! Yes I have a few times with various drones. Urban areas like this will naturally be harder to keep connected. It’s like it’s flying through a sea of competing connections amongst the RC infrastructure as well as the transmission from your controller to the drone being interrupted. Just fly more cautiously and make sure your return home settings are locked into a height that will allow a safe return if you lose connection. Happy flying!
@@The-Drone-Guy it is also possible to select hover instead of return to home, right? Would this be better than setting a rth? I i am under a brigde it is difficult to set a good rth distance, does this hiver function works well?
@@jensvandergalien3967 you know the pause button on the controller? If you ever lose connection/image on screen and are in a place you do not want RTH to initiate then tap that button. The drone will stop and hover in place until you go towards it and regain connection. Hope this helps!

Hey! Great question- personally I think that sounds like an awesome opportunity to pick up one of the best entry drones. I don’t think you will get bored! Do you currently live in an area with a lot of air traffic? May be worth looking at the flying opportunities nearby when you get home to gauge how often you’ll be able to fly. But at the end of the day I thinks it’s a good idea!
Hey there! So glad you found my channel, exciting to hear you got the mini 2 se. I have found that uploading the original wide version to RUclips and having the shorts editor auto crop works best. I like editing everything else before hand in cap cut pro app. Make sure to be filming in 2.7k! Hope this helps and happy flying 🙏🚁
Hi there! Although the mini 2 se doesn’t have vertical shooting mode. You can still take the wide clips and load them into RUclips for a vertical short. Make sure you shoot the original footage in 2.7k so that when it gets brought in the footage still looks sharp. If you use an app to edit it first make sure to export in 4 k. Hope this helps!

@@cikguyt8154 yes I’m still able to connect to gps. The app I use called UAV forecast helps show how many satellites are locked into the area sometimes I’ll check that before. But usually I have no issues conducting to gps
My mini 2 clipped a tree over the waters edge and went for a swim unfortunately think I’m going to have to replace the ecu hopefully not the flight controller too 😅

@@The-Drone-Guy I’m from the uk , been a pilot since November but had a mavic mini and seen the camera quality does not differ much , decided to upgrade as my freind broke my mini and it’s not worth repairing so I just ordered a dji mini 3 from CeX , hope this can last
So far very well! Up to 20mph. I don’t push it any more than that because the camera gimbal can sometimes get jarred around by the wind if it’s more. But for the weight this is a very stable drone
Not at all too much! It’s the perfect amount of drone for the beginner. It has great control and also forces you to learn safe flying because it can’t avoid obstacles on its own. It has the same quality as my first $1,599 drone as well. Happy flying!
Hey! Yes I can help. If you head to your control settings within the app look for the max altitude and max distance sliders. You can adjust the max height and distance of your drone. The drone usually come with default settings to keep the drone close to most regulation. So that might be why you can only go so far or so high. Let me know if you still need help!
Yes this is the highest quality. This day was kind of hazy which always makes quality look worse. Some of my other videos that I have in clear days looks sharper. Also this is dropped in, so if you’re looking for vertical go with a mini 3 option

Love hearing that I have followers all the way from Queensland. My grandmoms family are all from there! The drone is not a shark, no need to flip upside down. You land it on your hand as if it were the ground, because rocking boat is not stationary and can’t land on. The drone will slowly descend into your hand and keep it flat and firm until the props turn off. Don’t try to pull it down or they may kick back on. I think I made a short about the landing 🛬 Sometimes it is helpful to have someone else catch it. Hope this helps! Definitely let us know when you share some footage from your awesome boat!

Yes if you can get the 4K or better it’s already a step up. I have a phantom 4 pro and a mavic 3 and didn’t think I’d use the mini 2 se since it’s only 2.7k. But I’ve been surprised!

Oh boy that’s a tough one, I’d say the mini 3 pro if you don’t have a strict budget. It shoots 4K, true vertical and has advanced obstacle detection
I wouldn’t buy this drone now , it has a pretty low end camera buoy would want a mini 2 with a 4k camera and that extra bit of sharpness

The mini 2 and 2 se do not have try vertical shooting. But it’s pretty easy to crop for that !
