I Bought 13 BROKEN DJI Drones - But Can I Fix Them?! I'm trying to fix several different models of drones: Mavic Mini, Mini SE, Mini 2, Mavic Air 2, and DJI FPV. I've done very little work on drones before so hopefully I can get them apart, diagnosed, and repaired without too much trouble.

Part 2 IS UP! ruclips.net/video/_QZXaf6sY1Y/видео.html
Yes! Do more things like drones and stuff. Metal detectors, electric scooters. 1 wheels!!! This stuff is all expensive and should be easy for you. You are a pro at this stuff which help me fix my stuff 😂
I try to do some stuff outside of game consoles but many times those videos don't get viewed as much so I don't do them very often. I'll still do some periodically though.
Unfortunately you can't swap gimbals, motherboard and GPS/IMU unit within drones. It's all paired with SN together. You only can swapp arms, 3 in 1 cable (flex in mini series that goes to Gimbal, GPS/IMU, compass and MB) video cable in gimbal and ESC board.
If you are changing arms put it in the middle (fiddle between open and unopened state and make it stay there by itself) and push mechanism by pin from the other side.
Same story with Air 2 drone.
In DJI FPV it's whole another story, there you can fiddle around with them more.
If you want them to be repaired the best thing is to send them to DJI. It's cheap and fast, and they have tools to do SN change on the paired parts
I was repairing DJI drones for about 1y but DJI went with SN paired route and for now it's not worth it. On the internet there were a community app for paring and calibration of gimbals, but i don't know if it's working anymore.
Always a pleasure when TronicsFix posts a longer video!
It's great to see this channel broadening the scope of things fixed. Thank-you!
cant wait till part 2 this has been so interesting to see just how fixable drones are thanks Steve !!
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed this one.
I didn't know I wanted this video, but now part 2 is ALL I WANT
I'm only 12 minutes in, but I'm really impressed so far with how repairable these are (so far).
Great job on the fixes! I’ve done a few DJI’s as well, very satisfying! Absolutely need to connect these to a controller and the DJI Fly app to fully test though. That’s usually my first step, since the drone can be fixed 100% but still not fly if it has been registered or “bound” to a DJI account, bricking it. Little use in fixing a drone that can’t fly. This is checked by going back to the main screen > profile > device management. The only way a bound DJI drone flies is if it uses the same linked controller that was used when initially bound. No way to link the bound drone to another controller. The other reason for connecting to a controller/app is that the drone will self-diagnose errors making the list of needed repairs more clear.
Interesting. Thanks for the info!
Thanks for this one, Steve. Been working on my busted drone for a bit and this gave me the extra boost I needed to finally get it fixed.
Cool to see new stuff taken apart and repaired.
That was a fun watch. Looking forward to part 2
So glad you enjoyed!
I need to get myself a drone. Been wanting one for years. Nice video. Looking forward to part 2.
They're pretty fun!
Should get one they are such good fun
Oh man I loved it... can't wait for the part 2... You are such an inspiration... ❤
Stripped plastic screw holes can be repaired with a little super glue or epoxy to fill out the hole. Then, you can screw the screws into that
Great content you always keep us interested in your videos.
I look forward to seeing your next videos. Again congratulations 🎉🎉 to you fixing the Drone's to keep them out of the Landfills.
Of any channel I’ve watched on RUclips, I’d say this one is probably the best all-around. The premise is basically, YOU can fix whatever you want. It’s informative, it’s instructive and the creator is self taught and extremely persistent. The editing is top notch as well. It’s just a tremendous channel. Can’t say it enough.
this is awesome, having own a few drones and breaking them, its nice to see somone else attempt to fix it to learn it for yourself
Don't worry Steve, not too worried about you not putting the right amount of thermal paste!
I'm a little disappointed but I guess I can forgive him. I just hope he doesn't let it happen again.
Waiting on part 2!! A friend sent me 2 drones like those. I dabble in electronics fixing, the drones I have had a issue with the sensors, I cleaned the drones with good ol alcohol. As for the thermal paste, I had a dead Xbox one x so I used the blue paste on it. Did the trick. So far it flies fine!
Thanks for this video Steve, I am waiting for the part two! This is the kind of video that worth the likes for part two 🎉😂❤
Interesting fixes. That epoxy holding the wires can be removed a lot easier with some heat... use your heat tool to soften it up and it'll come right off. Those grey cables are U.FL (UMCC).
Thanks for the awesome video! You are inspiring me to repair more and more.
Thanks! Great to hear that!
Very intereseting, I really enjoyed watching this kind of repair. Thank you so much.
Great video!! Looking forward to part 2.
With the release of the new mini 3, its great to see old ones getting fixed
Amazing what you did fixed those... You seem knowledge all kind electronics device and those .. that's amazing what you did... thank for sharing. It's enjoy watch what you taught us to watch and learned... that's awesome... :)
Yes I was hoping for a part 2! Lovely
Fun one! Looking forward for part 2
Can’t wait for part 2!
Good job!! Waiting on part 2
I just got what I'm calling my first "real" drone a few weeks ago (DJI Mini 3 Pro), and I've already had to replace one of the hinge/shaft assemblies on a front arm - I know they're an intentional failure point (instead of the frame or arms themselves), but it's still ~$18 to source. Amazing what a drop from 2 feet into grass will do. :)
Obvious solution in 5, 4, 3.. had my rolling. Awesome as always!
Let's get some popcorn 🍿
I love how much money he spends just to make us happy. Love your vids, and keep up the good work.👍❤
Not only us hahahha
I like the batman theme transitions
when I saw the topic, I stopped everything I was doing to watch! Had to... it was a must... great fix-it video!
Good vidéo, part 2 please with test outside😊🙏
I recently tried my luck with 2 parts of repair Xbox elite controllers for on eBay and surprisingly both of them were flawless condition and had no problems
Tronics!! That error went away when you replaced the gps sensor! You just noticed it after installing the gimbal😂
Hi bro I really like your videos I've been a fan for so long i hope you post part two asap ❤️❤️
Very interesting. Can't wait part 2. Cheers from over the pond ;-) (Belgium)
I fixed my mini se with a replacement left arm, was very easy got it back flying again 👍
Hey TronicsFix, great videos. How do you make your flux soft enough to fill your syringes?
lol i keep comin back to check for part 2. addicted.
Wow interesting
will wait for part 2
funny i just started looking for a dji drone today, and you upload a great repair video... :D
They're some of the best out there, imo
Interesting! I can't help but wonder if the gimbal and thereby cameras are somehow connected to the down facing sensors, possibly through the same video processing??
Been waiting for a video about drones long time
Steve Can you do also a fly test,? i want too see that.👍 Good Job fix the drones.😉
"I don't have much experience with drones let's start with the most difficult" 😂😂 I love the confidence
"I don't have this blue stuff." Time to add to the shopping list!
Lol, yep!
Keep up the great videos!!
yess finaly the drones. i was waiting for this video
Hope you like it!
@@Tronicsfix thanks
Love your channel watch it every Time
I appreciate the support!
Super nice video and something new. I would like to see a video just with the water damaged one. Who know what can be saved. I am a person who try and try and want to give a chance to the most damaged ones.
32:50 Bro tried to land on water 💀
This was excellent!
Part two please ❤
I have no problem with you making a part two of this.
Drone repair is very rewarding. Great that you did a video on it, looking forward to part 2, thanks for all the repair videos!
Wanted to see you fly the fixed ones
Wow! Great video!!
Perfect amount of thermal paste is THE reason I watch your videos. I know I can find thousands of ppl who agree with me, but i can't prove it 😇
Amazing video Steve, great work. How would you rate the repairability of these mavic drones? Shame about the gimble, I've had easy fixes on cars before that i started off with the most complex instead of trying the most obvious lol. Live and learn.
They're actually not too bad to repair once you've done a few of them.
@@Tronicsfix Yea doesn't look too bad, surprised and also glad they're not glued together for water proofing but then you'd never repair em without breaking em.
You can try recalibrating the sensors - you can only do that using a PC connection through the DJI Assistant 2 suite…….
edits are crazy and unexpected
Transition in 10:35 is flawless.
Has to be very common to have liquid damage on drones. People likely crash them all the time in ponds, lakes, ocean areas trying to take footage.
With the repair around 4:20 wouldn't it be simpler to clip the wires and splice them?
Hey bud l had the same problem with a mavric pro drone l had to plug the drone into the computer and do calibration itcworked for me
Drone tech here
The fixes are easier then you think!!
That sounds like an awesome job! I bet these fixes are super easy for you. After my first repair of each drone it got much easier.
@@Tronicsfix I saw that, you seemed to get the hang of it pretty quickly!
For bottom sensor issues,it's usually the 3-1 flat cable,or the PTZ camera cable
Great Video Steve
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
I have mini drone. Works great. Nice repairs 👍
The mini's are cool. So light. A little more difficult to open up but not bad once you get the hang of it.
some real Drone of Theseus action going on here
This was fun and different!
So glad you enjoyed!
Eager for part 2
Gah! Video cuts off right when you got to the drone I have. Oh well, as always I look forward to your next video!
Part 2 is coming!
Part 2 pls. i've a mavik pro 1 with a gimbal problem. it going stuck when move
Seems like these would be great candidates for conformal coat. Or are these disposables?
Is there any difference in the thermal paste by its color ?
Wonder if buying one like this would be better than buying a new one, as I’ve been in the market and just can’t get myself to buy one of the new mavic minis as they are pricey
Are you gonna do a job lot video on any console
Awesome work😎😎😎
Bro I was going to just comment to say fix some drones dang 😂
Well, here you go!
We want part 2 !!!!!!
You can fix broken drone arms in a pinch with super glue and baking soda.
It's a light weight, strong, fast curing bond. The way its applied matters though, so make sure to practice before doing it on something you care about.
Replacing the arm is a better long term fix, but if you don't want to stop flying, this trick will help keep you in the air!
Can you give an update on the roombas that you tried to repair
As well Steve thank you for the PS4 ebay 👍
Answer for a question from last video:
Do you use hands for removing ribbon or 'lego' connectors:
Yes I do
I have giant hands 21 cm long and 11 cm wide
It is pretty useful to use hands because I am an Indian and we are not professionals :)
Where do you sell the gadgets you'd have repaired,??
I love your videos
Love from Iraq
its awesome to see some DJI products on this channel, i own a mini 2 drone and its alot of fun to fly and capture some great photos!
5:51 "Here's what we do to warranty stickers around here" - There's a tshirt.
Hello, where is part 2 I’ve been waiting for half a day.
Fantastic content really interesting
I'm going to have to send you some blue thermal paste LOL
I epoxied my dji spark's broken engine mount and i'm flying it for a year and it works fije
U should do some laptop next
I've got more laptop videos coming
The corrosion on that one drone was intense!
