    “Would you talk to your child that way?” Really hit. I’ve struggled with panic attacks for over 10 years now and lately they’ve become kind of manic. My thoughts are constantly beating me down and reminding me of all my failures. I now have a toddler and would never want anyone to tell her the things I tell myself. Thank you for that perspective. I pray that I’m reminded about that the next time an attack comes back.

    I love this so much! I believe God led me here. I’ve been very depressed lately. I just turned 61 and I’m so lonely. I’ve lost my mom, dad, and all 3 of my brothers. I’m divorced with 2 great boys. 27 and 25 but they have their own lives. I work full time and seem like I have a great life. But, I’m lonely and depressed. I’m overweight and always tired. I work on Sundays so can’t go to church. I try to go to mass on Fridays as I’m off. I want to be involved with something more.

      Focus on your eating and get out and enjoy some sort of exercise even if it’s just walking. See if there are any soup kitchens or charities you can join in your area. Does your church do online service? Can you watch that? Do they have small groups available where you can have small community gatherings outside of your church? Mine does them and some of them are women’s groups. It sounds like you need community and those are great places to start!

    Hi Madison, so thankful you are raising awareness about brain health. I would like to speak to the anti-depressant medication portion of this discussion. I am 3 years out from a brain injury caused directly from discontinuing the lowest available dosage of an antidepressant. It has been devastating and life changing for my entire family and there are thousands like me. Pharmaceutical anti-depressants are incredibly powerful, dangerous and should be used as an absolute last result if at all. If you would ever like to interview a family that has gone through discontinuation syndrome let me know. (I am local to you). Brain health is the answer. Not psychiatric medications. Thank you for raising awareness to this incredibly important topic!

      Thank you for sharing. It's motivating and confirming and powerful to hear testimonies from someone who has gone through it. Keep sharing where you can cause for me, and I'm probably not thr only one who feels this way, it's the testimonies of the people who have already gone through it that empowers me to stay away and stress the importance of staying away from these things!!! May God bless and heal you spiritually, emotionally, and mentally, plus physically in all ways in Jesus name ♡Thank you.

      @@sofiadelcielo Yes! After what I have been through, I genuinely believe that as Christians, we were never meant to be on these drugs. Humanity lived without these drugs for thousands of years and somehow made it through. The over prescribing of these medications is terrifying and the consequences of jumping off of them can be devastating.

      So, interesting that I have come across this. I went to my doctor for my yearly exam. I’ve had a few unusual cycles. While there are health related things going on there, I have also been under good amounts of stress lately and my sleep has been less than stellar.
      She immediately prescribed me a low dose of Lexapro to essentially take the edge off and help me sleep. I have yet to get the prescription filled because I’ve just been going to the Lord for it all. I don’t really want to have to take it and seeing this makes me want to even less. I just feel like I know what’s causing my stress and there are things I can do to help with that and running to a medication right off the bat just doesn’t seem like the answer.

    This is a great podcast and very interesting, however I wonder the biblical truth on only loving people that love you back. It think we are called to an upside down kingdom, to love your neighbor as yourself. It doesn’t say the neighbor that treats you well and can give something back to you, it just says love your neighbor. I understand there might be a difference between things and people, when talking about things that aren’t good for you that makes sense but I am just not sure how the Bible aligns with only loving people that love you back. There is totally an extent that there are situations that are unsafe and we shouldn’t be walked on like a doormat but I don’t know if we are only called to love those who love us. Jesus tells Peter in Matthew 18:22 to continue to forgive, which is completely upside down of what the world would say. Was Jesus’s death on the cross only for those who loved him?

    • @nrcarl00

      I agree with you on this, was thinking the same thing

    • @dhall75608
      @dhall75608 4 месяца назад

      You can love your neighbor, even if they don’t love you back. You do forgive, but forgiveness is taking the power they have over you. It doesn’t say you have to reconcile, but don’t allow what others have done to you, view the way you see and love yourself. Also, loving others that do or don’t love you back, doesn’t give you permission to be a doormat. You can love from a distance. Praying for someone, who would appear unlovable, is a way of showing love. I feel the Bible calls us to love our neighbor, even when they don’t seem to be lovable, even if that means doing it from a distance. If we only loved our neighbors that loved us back, how would we reach the lost? Jesus loves all and He also did with his time on earth. He showed patience and kindness and we are called to love the same way.

      I think he means to not tolerate what won’t do you any good bc food can’t actually love you but people can and we should love everyone but we shouldn’t have to put up with someone’s actions but we should still love them. That’s how I took it I hope that makes scenes. Love isn’t necessarily the best word to use in this situation lol but I get what he’s getting at.

    I say this respectfully-- I really think you should stick to podcasts that focus on biblical truths and not pseudoscience. As someone who works in the medical field and also struggles with mental health issues, this is not helpful information and can be very dangerous to those who suffer like me. Mental health has a lot of contributing factors, including environmental, genetics, biology and spiritual. Narrowing it down simply to food choices is not accurate and shames sufferers. Medicine has its place and can save lives. Dr. Amen is working to discredit evidence- based psychiatrists and getting people to pay for phony scans. If you do your due diligence and research Dr. Daniel Amen, you will see that a lot of scientists and doctors have refuted his work.
    I've loved and listened to all your podcasts thus far, and they have encouraged me greatly and helped me grow spiritually. This one, however, doesn't sit right with me.
    I urge you to pray about it. You can't go wrong promoting biblical truths, but many Christians can get led astray by the latest fads that have no biblical or scientific basis.
