I don't understand why every one wants Obsidian to do another Fallout game. Today's Obsidian is not the same Obsidian that did Fallout New Vegas. The vast majority of the people that worked on New Vegas are gone. If Obsidian did another Fallout it would probably be on par with The Outer Worlds which was an OK game but nothing close to New Vegas.
Its shorthand for the old crew. Some people know that and still phrase it in that manner.
Because people whoring for brands in a brain-dead manner. Devs who made those brands are long gone, but instead of following and supporting the real guys, they're just circle-jerking each other.

Given the poor writing in The Outer Worlds, I hope nuObsidian stays as far away as possible from other existing IPs.
For me I would just like another Fallout game in general, if we're lucky it would be a game that focuses more on the lore/writing and extensive rpg mechanics instead of becoming a half baked looter shooter with deep lore which is where Bethesda's taking the property currently.

I'm on all systems and recently bought a new pc because I wanted to upgrade. I've always played pc but not as much as console. With all the crap going on with Sony and Xbox along with all the re-re-re-releases, I've been thinking more and more it might be time to just go straight pc from now on.

With Skyrim, I haven't updated in years at this point. It is just not worth loosing some of these mods I know just don't work in the new version & days of re-doing/downloading updated/new mods
If the game can't be pirated, I won't buy, I mainly play on the pirated version because it won't get affected by any stupid changes the company may shit out.

Executives are a symptom, not a cause. The cause is Shareholders. Once a company goes public, it's not enough to make a good game and make a profit. You have to make more profit than the last time. Every time. That's why you give live services and microtransactions and Day1 DLC, and multi-tiered pricing, and every other damn thing they do to nickel and dime you. The executives are the ones whose job it is to generate that return on investment. There will be good games in the future, but they will be from the private independent studios. The AAA's as a whole are a lost cause, with a few notable exceptions.

Without getting into specific detail holding your hand through all the specifics, your actual issue isn't with executives. They're a symptom of a greater problem. Your actual issue is with the global monetary systems and with the global financial institutions. It all boils down to that.
Even if the problem was the executives, you can't just "get rid of them" without buying out the whole company with all the shares by yourself or starting the new studio from scratch.
I'm 44 years old and start playing games mid 80's and early 90's, (the good old days of gaming) granted the graphics are plain pixels at some stages in the gaming history, but if we had these kind predatory money grabbing tactics back then the whole industry would of just crumbled to the ground. now in 2023/24 (And even before) we are starting see a collapse in the industry for PURE greed

Yeah pretty much all these companies made their money in the past and exist on stocks held by rich millionaires but even that has a limit, that is why studio's keep shutting down. Even the AAA companies are not immune to this and enough bad games in a row will shut them down as well. But they don't care at this point. They will churn out bad game after bad game and just make money through investments and bank loans that they never pay off till they file bankruptcy.
Its a vicious cycle, and one forced into by rich people taking over the gaming industry and not caring about their own customers, just seeing customers as money generation machines. All the passion that once existed for modern games now only exist in a few indie devs.

45 here. Interesting to see many Indie devs going back to the style of the games we used to grow up with. Games like Ultrakill and Dusk. Then there are the Remasters that a lot of gamers enjoy, even the younger ones.

The problem for Sony is now that their consoles are basically an entry level PC, people might as well actually buy an entry level PC and not be locked to a specific company that completely disregards customer freedom. Sony drank the koolaid and deserves to go under because of it.

I stopped enjoying video games during this past generation.... the sheer amount of paid DLC, season passes, bugs, day-one patches, and the egregious need for online support.... it put a bad taste in my mouth that hasn't gone away.
Luckily, life is better away from the TV/computer, so it's been a blessing in disguise.
Can't wait for Witcher 4, Remake and Cyberpunk to fail. They fired almost all developers who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher games, and they want to make it "More diverse and for modern audience".

Don't even mention Anthem. It still makes me sick that they had one of the best third person shooter gameplay I've ever touched but refused to finish the game before launch ing it. That game would have been a wild success if it had had a stable launch with a better story and some sort of end game

There was a time that I would have been happy to hear that CDPR was ramping up production, but with their very public bending of the knee to DEI, I just can't seem to to get excited by anything that they are putting out because it will most likely be a much watered down and sanitized product than the games that I enjoyed before.

I think you're misreading the situation here. They don't literally hate money but instead hate the greedy corporations who care nothing other than money. Yes, businesses are created to produce capital. The problem is if all they care about is the greenback, the games they are creating suffer. Half of the modern-day problem is that large corporations only care about profit over the lives of actual people. Money that is only used to enrich a few wealthy executives and folks in suits who care nothing for games or people underneath them might be useless to everyone else.
I get it, thats nothing new but to writhe we hate money on a billboard just looks stupid.
At the end of the day you need to make a product that people want to buy.

I will always point out With Overwatch 2 that it is the fans' own fault. Some of us saw Overwatch for what it was waaayyyyyy back when it was announced: a lazy cash grab using the skeleton and assets of another canceled project.
But people ATE IT UP for some reason, fed into the laziness of the team making it, and fed into the lootbox bullshit, which emboldened the entire industry to be lazier and greedier, as if they needed even more reason for it.
And again, I don't know how, when OW2 was announced, no one saw immediately that Blizzard wasn't going to follow through on their promises for more content and PvE, it was insanely obvious, but y'all still ate it up.

Making games nowadays is quite simple: 1)make shiny graphics 2) lots of flashing lights and sounds for slot machine like feedback 3) The game play is irrelevant because they rely on "player interaction" to give any substance to their game.

It was a new IP with new characters with a fully developed custom engine for it. Lazy means reusing storylines, assets, features, mechanics, engine, ect. You obviously have 0 clue how art or media production works. Sometimes you end up with something different than you started, sometimes the start is so bad it gets scrapped and started over as something similar but different. Just because it used assets or an idea from a cancelled game doesn't make it lazy, it makes it a smart move because OW was hugely successful. Lastly, Battleborn was TRASH! It was a poorly balanced game that tried to do way too much and delivered on none of it. To top it off Battleborn cost more than OW did. If the nerds with no life wanna subsidize my games by buying lootboxes so the base game is cheaper be my guest! At the end of the day OW was one of the top selling games OF ALL TIME. If it wasn't ur jam that cool, just don't make yourself look like a moron by calling the game lazy or saying all you have to do to make a successful game is have an online game with "shiny graphics" and MTX.

I'mk Lithuanian-German and my relatives in Lithuania and my wife has relatives in Mongolia, both places have no PSN support. But to be fair, it doesn't really matter for single player games, because they get pirated there anyways. But it's annoying for online-games which require the account. Modded PS consoles can be bought in eastern europe in small shops. In Lithuania, paying for Netflix for example is completely wasted money, because everyone is just watching stuff for free, often with fan subtitles, because most foreign media doesn't add these smaller languages.

what i noticed in the summer showcase is that 2/3 of the seats in that hall were empty and the only studios/publishers are respect are Focus Ent/Asobo Studio.Arrowhead and FromSoft

Nintendo is the cockroach of the game industry, they will survive. Most modern companies outside of Nintendo won't survive into 2030 if trends keep up.
I don't consider remakes/remasters new games, just cash grabs. So remove them from the list for a real perspective on the state of gaming.

Game companies could always go back to focusing on Characters instead of Identity and Story instead of Agenda, but that’s probably asking too much since that would require them to look at the demographics of who their main gaming base is.
They look at the main demographic of investors - and they are all evil billionaires, who want to rule the world by social engineering, fake ideologies and other methods of population division and control. That's why you get games that look made for a 1% minority, that's not even interested in videogames - it's easier to get money from initial investment (shilling), rather than sales and customer satisfaction.

Totally agree with the excellence of "Days Gone". I recently watched the full playthrough on Fooster's YT channel since I do not own the game and he is a fun gamer to view. The story was well done, though yes, it did have some minor issues. Graphically, it was a really beautiful game with a huge environment to explore and fight in. My main gripe was that the dev team dropped the ball on NPC facial animations for the most part. Cinematics were superb, but when chatting with various NPCs, the emotional vocal performances never matched the facial movements. For example, you save a guy/gal from a vehicle being attacked by several infected. When they come out, sometimes the character will be screaming and yelling, as well as exclaiming their thanks for saving them, yet their faces are devoid of emotion and their physical movements never denote their vocal outbursts. Other than that, the game looked, and clearly played, amazing.

Days gone was a great game, i still play it on my legion go handheld, i personally don't think horizon and days gone should be compared as one is a massively open world rpg and the other is a zombie rpg with very good bike controls and stuff. it is a crying shame there will be no sequel to days gone.

@@markhettenbach3141Sounds like he has a paper clip PC. 6 years ago I bought a PC and played CP2077 from day one. Had one instance of V T-pose right at the end of the game. Aside from the empty roads and the dopey ped AI the game was good.
I play CP2077 all the time with 50+ mods with minimal issues.
Cant expect a game to be bug free but it’s definitely not broken anymore
@@justintillman5630 Key word is mods. Skyrim plays like a dream with MODS. Fallout 3 and 4 play well with MODS. Starfield plays better with mods.

@@blackcat7k there is barely any mods that fix the game. 80% of the mods on nexus are apparel, some make minor gameplay changes. I played 2 times without any mod, and installed the large library of mods for the 3rd playthrough only to find out how boring mods there are.

The worst part is the cosmetics are getting worse so it's less incentive for players to buy things lol, great example of it cosmetics getting worse is Battlefield 1 to BFV and 2042, Battlefield 1 actually had highly detailed skins for all weapons, then BFV launched and it changed to a bunch of awful looking leaves, mud and some paint which looks like a 6 year old did it in MS Paint 😂

The thing with PSN accounts for single player games isn't just that countries can't even buy it(which is bad enough), it is the fact that Sony can just cut you off from the game for any reason if you can't login to PSN. I don't need my PC games beholden to Sony whims. Especially not my single player PC games.

Def underrated. Bought the game for PC and started it up just thinking I'd get a taste of what the game is like and come back to it later. Couldn't put it down and played through till about half into NG+. Awesome game, and that's coming from someone who generally doesn't like PS games. Haynes probably thinks the horizon games are the sht.

The fact that CDPR didn’t put a new game plus mode to cyberpunk was a huge mistake. It would have changed the game and been even better allowing players to try different approaches to problems in the game
the witcher 4 is gonna tank. the origonal team that made the first 3 games have left CDPR. Were likely gonna see them do the same thing all the other major game companies did and burn through all their good will they cultivated over the next couple of years
