Certain materials for the stamps are considered ‚pro materials‘ and I’m wondering why a simple stainless steel is considered inferior?
In Italy you find these stamps pretty much anywhere. I don't think they are technically pro but more for household use.
An interesting question. I’ve wondered the same myself. Perhaps the answer lies in the ease at which metals such as zinc & aluminum can be melted and cast into molds ready for finishing? Inexpensive materials, easy to work, casting details transfer readily and accept a variety of electroplating (chrome for one) finishes is my guess. Thx
