- At first sight, we loved the 2023 FL5 Civic Type R look, and getting the opportunity to detail one of the early UK cars now we love it even more. Being a brand new car, this one found its way to us direct from the dealer, untouched from the factory, still with all the protective film and bump guards in place.
Yes, you'll be forgiven for thinking that this rather awesome-looking hyper-hatch looks reasonably clean to begin with, and that's probably because it's basically brand-new, it even turned up on a trailer. But don't get distracted by the distinct lack of road miles on this charming 2023 Civic Type R because, as with many new cars, there's much more than immediately meets the eye.
You see, when you inspect a little closer there's all sorts of problems that a car straight from the factory can throw up. And, let's face it, if you're buying new from a main dealer, and dropping a big bundle of cash on your dream street weapon, you want it to be absolutely perfect… and ideally, to stay that way for as long as possible.
So that's the whole point of this particular detail, we'll be cutting through a small amount of grit and grime to get to the key detailing stages where we'll perfect the paintwork and lavish this brand new FL5 Civic with 12 months of extreme ceramic protection. Suffice to say that one lucky buyer will soon be getting a better CTR than anyone else for the summer.

Best in the business. I wouldn't have taken my van anywhere else 👍
how long have you been working on this job alone?
2:23 do you guys have the music name?
So it rained after done waching the FL5 outside? 😅 isn’t that waste of effort of washing with all the steps, as the rain is acidic?🤔
Wow. I have a 2023 black edtion V6 tourareg.. would you like to detail mine?
nice video, owner autofinessed himself that his car new needs finessing
👍
B U TIFUL
Guessing there was paint problem with it otherwise it wouldn't need to be with you guys
No issue as such, just wanting to get it off on the right foot and make future care easier.
Yummy ❤
Why go through all that trouble in a new car? Paint should be good from factory.
Should be, but rarely the case these days
@@AutoFinesseDetailing are you guys removing millimeters of clear coat?
@@juanfernandez8987 Noooo, a Micron or 2 at most with something like this, a car doesn't have many millimetres of paint with all layers combined, let alone clearcoat alone.
I know it’s built for the us market but it doesn’t feel like a civic type r anymore. The true hot hatch has gone and now it’s a boat. Lovely car don’t get me wrong just feels the civic name isn’t suited. Type r is great
Fair point, but kinda feel as a 4/5 door i prefer the salon, a true hot hatch should be 2/3 door 😜
@@AutoFinesseDetailing I do agree. Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s a stunning car. Just not a civic. More like an accord type r. A smaller 3 door hatch variant would be a nice addition considering the size and cost.
.. Meh
It's just not the same with new cars
Treat them right from the off set and maintain them and then there’s no need for r big in-depth correction type details. Prevention is better that cure and all that 😜
A rear wing on a Honda Civic? Looks ridiculous
Why would a brand new car straight from dealers need detailing ffs
Most new vehicles can be detailed and refined beyond factory standard finish. Also adding protection from new is an extremely common request.
