    Samus's outrage is perfectly understandable and justified too. Not only is she getting curbstomped by an enemy that's borderline unfair, but that same enemy confessed to being a source of MANY of her current problems. He's the reason the Chozo disappeared, he's the reason the X have been set free again, and he even usurped the one companion she had to manipulate her into becoming his living weapon...all for more power that he didn't even need.
    Samus went from "get the job done" to "THIS ASSHOLE CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO LIVE" and it is FULLY deserved.

      Oh yeah, never mind the fact Darth Warbler's her surrogate father by proxy as donor of the genetic material that made Samus a Human/Chozo hybrid, btw. So many thoughts and emotions racing through her mind at Warp Factor 9. Put ALL together, and is it any wonder why Space Female Rambo went absolutely berserk? O.O

      An odd quirk to the boss is that it is seemingly the only boss who isn't buffed in Hard Mode. I found him oddly easy in my Hard Mode playthough, because I already beat him twice before in normal mode, and he didn't do any extra damage or have more health. He was literally exactly the same.

    To give more context to that scene in Metroid Dread, that moment with Raven Beak had a bit of subtle build up before that. So in the previous game, Metroid Fusion, Samus was infected with a deadly parasite. In order to save her life, scientists surgically removed the outer layers of her bio-suit so they could inject Samus with Metroid cells. This gave herself and her suit properties of the Metroid. At first, this comes down to a weakness to ice and her ability to absorb the X parasites and steal their powers. Additionally, because her suit's outer layers were removed, she's no longer able to tank hits like before.
    Now, in Dread, Raven Beak wants that Metroid DNA, so he reprograms these EMMI robots to steal Samus' blood. But Raven Beak sees potential in her, and decides to test her abilities instead and attempt to recruit her to his side. Samus' bio-suit slowly regenerates its outer layers over the course of the game, and she finds herself with a new instinct she doesn't understand. Near the end of the game, she gives in to this instinct, grabs an EMMI with her left hand, and absorbs its energy akin to what a Metroid can do. She tries to do the same to Raven Beak, but he counters and starts choking her out. This is when her Metroid DNA fully kicks in, and her suit turns green and insect-like, absorbing energy not just from Raven Beak, but from his whole floating facility. Samus has evolved into an invincible Metroid, with impenetrable armor and a beam attack that disintegrates enemies with ease. As a fan who had to wait so freaking long for this sequel, it was a perfect moment to go out on.

      I'm just imagining what they'll do with this in the next game.

    • @TheZeroNeonix
      @TheZeroNeonix 5 месяцев назад +5

      @jameslawrenson1208 - Same. They can't just give her unlimited access to the Metroid suit, because that would just make her way too powerful. Maybe it could be a temporary powerup during certain events. Maybe her Metroid DNA begins affecting her mind, so she has to actively resist the urge of that power, or else risk becoming a mindless killing machine.

    • @TheZeroNeonix
      @TheZeroNeonix 5 месяцев назад +4

      @jameslawrenson1208 - Imagine if Metroid Suit Samus turned out to be the final boss of the next game, and we had to take control of somebody else. It would be a very ballsy move, especially if Samus dies in the end, but it would be pretty crazy if they went that route. Maybe they could have one more game where we're control of Samus, but she loses control in the end and becomes a huge threat, wiping out entire colonies as she continues to mutate. So in the next game, we take over a new hunter, guided by Adam, with the goal of defeating Samus. Maybe destroying her suit would be enough to pacify her. Maybe not.
      Since Dread is supposed to be the end of the "Metroid saga," and the start for something new, it would help to differentiate the series going forward if we got a new hero.

    • @kotlolish
      @kotlolish 5 месяцев назад +1

      There are hints on how the next game can top it. 1st off... she cannot fully control the metroid DNA and suit. As shown when she wanted to use the ship and Adam goes: "DONT YOU WILL DRAIN THE SHIP DRY!"
      Then of course or chozo buddy X shows up and cures her of it. (Why and how.. mystery.. was it the X? Can the X be good if the host was good? Can quiet robe control X in death?)
      Then she leaves the planet.. this means.. the next game might have a "Metroid gauge" similiar to Metroid Prime 3 had the Phazon gauge. You know? Hyper Mode going crazy and you gotta empty it or else it takes you over? In this case... I can see a next game going with Samus having to control herself to not lose control of her Metroid side as it might cause more damage then good.
      And then eventually having to control her Metroid side or having to let it go for the sake of the universe... eitherway.. the next game has setup that the Metroid side of Samus is both a blessing and a curse. And that's where they will follow up.
      And ironincally enough. This wouldn't be the 1st time we have a "Samus Metroid" in the universe... since as I said with Prime 3... we had it before and we know WHAT DEVASTATION IT CAN CAUSE! An Army of Sa-X's? Nothing compared to the threat of Dark Samus (Metroid Prime). So let's imagine Samus having to keep that under control.

They consist of nothing but a huge fight between Jin and Kazuya which goes from the depths of a volcano, to a meteor hurdling through space towards the ground below, to what else, but a cliff, naturally. From an outsiders perspective that just sounds like normal fighting game nonsense but this is a fight that’s been built up for 20 years and there’s so much catharsis in it with all these crazy callbacks to old games and things like that. The story isn’t just told through cut scenes, but Through Jin's moveset, as it evolves and expands during the fight. Even the music gets in on it. It’s crazy.

    Some personal moments I would like to highlight:
    - The reveal and climb to the 16th Colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. You are not even as high as its toes, so seeing it in the distance only drives home just how huge it is. The storm that rages as the fight begins only adds to the spectacle.
    - Most boss fights from Drakengard 3. The soundtrack shifts from more understated orchestral pieces to lead electric guitars and ethereal singing, while riding a dragon, in order to fight giant mechanical beasts.
    - The intro to soul reaver, if only for seeing an ascended vampire have his wings torn off and thrown into the afterlife, only for him to survive and vow revenge.

    -Parrying the things you should have ZERO RIGHT PARRYING in Ultrakill. : The fist of essentially a collossal titan trying to punch a human sized you, the sword of essentially Raiden if he were 100% machine , the attacks of the literal Archangel Gabriel
    -Chasing off Crimson squadron in Project wingman SOLO: The game suggests YOU TO RUN "Caution! Crimson!, everyone on your side hightails it and runs. You can decide to stay and fight the enemy elite force, something everyone just shat their pants over and ran AND YOU CAN WIN. Damage one enough AND THEY TURN TAIL! Proclaiming that there is a good pilot among you and they would sure love to fight you another time

    If I had to compare what Samus did, it's that same feeling of watching Goku go Super Saiyan against Freiza, only skipping to the ending of that fight. A scream of pure rage that has built up over the course of the game after seeing repeatedly just how depraved Raven Beak was. The idea that she could fail to stop Raven Beak after all the effort she put forward just pushed her into fully embracing the Metroid DNA she had in her. Fitting that Metroid roughly means ultimate warrior in Chozo.

    Just remember...Samus has fought Ridley, the hulking hyper-intelligent giga-beast space pirate leader that orphaned her by murdering her parents in cold blood right in front of her, COUNTLESS times...and never ONCE exploded with the force of 1,000 suns like what she did when confronting Raven Beak for the final time. This means she saw Raven Beak as WORSE than RIDLEY! Think about that! Think about EVERYTHING that Ridley and his band of space brigand bastards have done...now look at what Raven Beak has done. Yeah...what was that famous Alien tagline? "In space, no one can hear you scream"? Uh, BUUUULL *SHIT* ya can't! I just heard the pained primal war cry of the galaxy's greatest warrior unleashed with the force of an antimatter BOMB! And it was EPIC! Jaw still on the floor, haven't the heart or energy to pick it up! :O

      I think cause Raven Beak let it all happen. That guy is willing to sacrifice anything for his own gains.
      Ridley and the space pirates are power hungry too, but a lot of the time... that blows up in their own faces as we see in some games.
      I wouldn't be surprised that Mother Brain turned evil and took over cause "she saw it logically" Maybe she gets retconned that Raven Beak told her to allow this, to gather more information on Metroids.
      And sure Other M is questionable but we do see a possible "good mother brain" who cares and was unrestricted.
      If Raven Beak is the cause of all that is bad in the Metroid Universe for his own quest for power.. it makes Ridley his unexpected pawn. And all this time Raven Beak could have done something, but insted.. he decided to rule everything.
      Suddenly Ridley doesn't seem bad. Just a smart beast that kills for fun. But someone like Raven Beak? He would totally control Ridley and let him have his fun.
      ...And ironically Ridley does listen to Mother Brain and Dark Samus.. so...naturally.. Raven Beak would be 10 times worst then Ridley ever could be.

      @@kotlolish From what I understand, Gray Voice was one of the DNA donors for Samus alongside Raven Beak, and Dread may very well have included him as a cameo in the Body Adaptation Process; whilst Gray Voice only appears in the manga, his prominent role was as surrogate father, raising her to be a powerful warrior under the supervision of Mother Brain, who at first had dismissed Samus as a weakling and unworthy of their time. Apparently, Mother Brain was the one who had designed the Power Armor and was responsible for aiding in the Body Adaptation Process. Whilst Raven Beak very well could have played a part in her turning, considering how Mother Brain's superiority complex made her turn against her creators, it would then imply that he WANTED her to turn against them, or simply planted the seeds in her consciousness to make that happen. Considering Mother Brain isn't only a supercomputer, but a thinking biological organism, it's possible that she possesses insecurities that could be preyed upon; it could very well be that Raven Beak expertly pulled those strings to force her to continue propagating his eventual Metroid army, making her THINK she was the one in control; if that is all the case, then it really does go to show just how manipulative and influential he was, and that, to him, any failures were just "minor setbacks" to be discarded like trash. Yeah...by comparison, in spite of his MONSTROUS savagery and cunning intellect, Ridley is a PUP. Hell...who's to say the bastard didn't rub off on Ridley? Maybe Ridley even found him to be "impressive"...someone he could "respect", even? Considering who and what Ridley is...makes ya wonder...you think he'd have teamed up with Raven Beak directly pursuing power like him...or tried to destroy him seeing Raven Beak as a genuine threat to his operations, considering someone like that would discard him at the slightest provocation of betrayal or simply because his usefulness ends? Scary thoughts... O.O

    Two moments that go hard for me:
    1- The assault on the Seraphites island in The Last of Us Part 2 is EPIC, basically you find yourself in the middle of all out war.
    2- The Mantis Lords boss fight in Hollow Knight. It’s a challenging battle, but one so rewarding once you learn how to counter their moves and properly damage them.

    For me, my favorite moment that goes hard is definitely the final part of Chaos Elfilis’s boss fight in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Not only it’s awesome of Chaos Elfilis trying to have the New World collide with Pop Star, but the way he gets defeated by having Kirby use a truck to get through different parts destroyed and obliterate him. It’s so ridiculously over the top it hilariously goes hard. XD

    For me it's Mythra's intro in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The party is fighting Akhos and Malos, and the stakes are at an all-time high. Vandham just died suddenly, the whole party has curbstomped and injured, and Rex isn't thinking straight. He charges at Malos - basically running headfirst into certain death. Pyra SCREAMS his name (seriously that scream goes HARD), the music crescendos, the scene cuts to black...
    Then you see a robot satellite thing floating in orbit, it powers on, Pyra EXPLODES, then there are orbital lasers. So far, the game has been about medieval-esque technology with swords and magic-like energy attacks. Space travel or ANYTHING similar isn't something you expect to see. So the whole game just abruptly kicks it up several notches when Pyra transforms into Mythra and executes the most GLORIOUS reverse-curbstomp, orbital lasers blazing. Malos and Akhos are running for their lives, screaming, being thrown around like ragdolls, oh and I didn't even mention the music. Just mmmf perfect.

    A moment that goes hard for me in particular is something from Pokemon.
    Say what you will about Ultra Sun & Moon, but their Episode RR is one of the coolest additions to any Pokemon postgame before gen 9's DLC. The moment in Episode RR that goes hard for me, though, is Ghetsis's entire encounter. Threatening your friend, your own Pokemon in their Balls wanting to do their best Scrappy Doo "lemme at 'em" impression, and a fight against a Ghetsis who WON his conquest in his universe. Few things are as cathartic as staring down his box legendary and properly-leveled Hydreigon.

    Transistor's final boss (Theseus to a less extent), Vanitas D-Linking himself to you, someone using WitchTime against Bayonetta, or "The Seat of Sacrifice" from XIV starting off it's boss fight by filling its own Limit Break meter. Then, of course, there's everything about the Sans fight...

    I could include Demise’s death in Skyward Sword. As in the first Link absorbed lightening into the Master Sword and at the same time, leaps at him and proceeds to launch it into his fucking head. I sadly haven’t played the game all that much but from what I saw in playthroughs, it looked so badass and all done in gameplay no less.
    It’s hard to pull off but extremely satisfying. I think it’s more cool looking than a QTE. I like that you can pull that off in game play without diminishing the cool factor.

    My hardest moments both come from Persona 5 Royal, my favorite game of all time (special mention to Peppy's kamikaze and Wolf's sacrifice from Star Fox Assault). But back to Royal, Joker finds himself surrounded, only to be approached by the Phantom Thief later known as Violet, who throws her rapier, barely missing Joker and killing a Shadow right behind him, then Take Over kicks in and it's glorious. The other one is when a super strong enemy is about to use one of the strongest target all physical attacks in the game on Joker and Crow, then Skull comes sprinting in, fresh off of remembering the past, tanks the full force of the attack, and then Rivers in the Desert starts up, so damn peak

He sacrificed so much to try and live up to a stupid legacy he never wanted. He got captured and turned into a mind controlled drone by a terrible corporation. Well, okay, fine; he has several reasons, it's Super Robot Wars, what do you expect; you're capable of impossible things, curbstomping, and you have a robot that does it for you.
    But then you put him on the horse, which need I remind you is piloted by "Trombe!" guy Elzam von Bronstein.

    As for the music, Hi-fi Rush has a copyright-free mode to be used during live streams and whatnot, that changes the licensed music to other songs.
    In case of Invaders Must Die, the new song (simply called Intruder) mimics the original almost 1 to 1, and it sounds great! It would fit this video pretty well.
    Give it a listen, you'll be surprised. And this comes from a Prodigy fan!
