You're not too old. I'm 65 and love these guitars and metal riffing. I am looking at one that I thought was a good deal, but that price from Adorama was a no-brainer. Thanks!
Jackson, from what I hear, is one of those brands like Yamaha or Schecter that is incredibly good for the price! Yes, they do tend to be designed for shredders, but there’s no reason you can’t play other kinds of music on them, too.
I have 3 Jackson's now. Absolutely one of the best value guitar brands on the planet. I asked my mom for a guitar for Christmas back in like 2008 and I've been playing ever since. I got a First Act that Christmas, and my brother got a Lyon by Washburn. I played both because my brother never stuck to it. I adopted the Lyon by Washburn because it was waaaay better than the First Act I got. It had a Union Jack finish because it was the Def Leppard edition guitar. The first "good" guitar I ever got was a 2011 Jackson Dinky JS22R (reverse headstock) in red. I think it was $200 or $250 at the time in 2011. In 2016, I got a 2016 GIbson SG Standard T in Cherry Red (full pickguard, that's my main axe). Also have a 2014 Fender Modern Player Telecaster in honey burst. Got a Jackson 7 string in 2017, and a new Jackson Dinky for $300 earlier this year. All my Jacksons have been budget priced guitars, but they play so much better than their price tag. I'd love to have a USA Jackson Custom Shop guitar one day. I love Jacksons. Wonderful little shred-sticks.
My first thought was, "Wow, Joe bought a shredder guitar!" Nothing wrong with that, though! The Dinkys are great! I have a JS32 Dinky and I love it! They do have hot pickups though, so cleans can be a challenge, especially through a tube amp. Enjoy the guitar and be well!
I'm with you on the pointy ends, but my grand-daughter loves them (JS32RR & '96 Kelly) and they are very nice quality instruments. Those pups will be hot but nothing an EQ won't fix....
Nice score! I like most of the design and features of this guitar, however the goofy weapon-looking headstock is a deal-breaker for me. Guitars are hard enough to keep in tune - why make it even harder by forcing the strings to take a hard angle from the nut to the outside tuners?
It's a cool guitar, Joe! I dig it. Like the subtle finish. It goes nicely with the not-so-subtle head-stock. LOL I'd like to burn down some Power Chords with that baby!

That's what my intention is brother. Thanks for watching.
That is so awesome! I love my Gus G JS Jackson. I wish the JS Kelly came with a roasted fretboard like that

Thanks Todd. If for nothing else, it will be fun to look at! Hope you are well.
Yea! Bring those metal riffs joe! 🤘🤘🤘
Wow!, you got a super deal. Stupid youtube isn’t sending me your updates.

Totally agree! Fortunately, I will not be using the whammy bar- so this might help. Be well!

Too funny Jimmy! Hope you are well brother.
I don’t know…I’m picking up some definite Joe Satriani vibes from you. Not sure where that’s coming from…😂.
