@@lindawedding3286 I think the same thing. She has a happy disposition and seems as if she radiates positive energy. I've had quite a few relationships in my life, but only one where I met a woman who worked hard to keep positive energy in the relationship. Even when I was feeling and being negative she would maintain that energy that would override mine. She was the yin to my yang. She was my best thing.

I rarely use the included air fryer basket unless I'm cooking something small or thin like fries. 99% of my cooks are on the included grill plate, it provides significantly more room and has holes to provide enough air circulation.

    Ms Overton,
I just made a rack of baby backs in a Ninja instapot.
I made my own dry rub. After cutting the ribs in three, I was able to stack them into the pot. 35 minutes on air fry at 390°. After 12 minutes I turned then to the other side.
I have to say they came out really good, but I myself like the slow cooked on a grill, it's just different.
I am new to the Ninja world of cooking, so far I like what it has produced.
I really appreciate your hard work into what you bring to the table.

The browning was better, yes, only because on the non-xl foodi she propped the ribs in a teepee fashion so very little was actually touching the surface.
Convection vs conduction. The one with more surface area will cook faster and have grill marks.
I have the non-xl with thermometer probe and I love it. I need to look into the xl. If it can do all I can currently cook plus more space, I’d sell mine and get it. I almost never user my microwave and oven anymore

Those all looked so delicious! Thank you so much for the comparison. I'm still debating about which one to buy but think I'm leaning towards the XL. I'm really happy to hear that you had no smoke. Thank you again for your great videos showing each one.

    • @marcc5768
      @marcc5768 3 года назад +2

Likely there was very little smoke due to the ribs not dripping off a lot of fat/juices in the pan. I have an original Ninja Air fryer, and it starts to smoke if there is too much oil (not added oil) that drips to the bottom of the cooking pan. Mine starts to smoke a lot if I do 2 batches of air fried chicken (leg back attached). back to back. so I add some water to the pan now, and now it smokes way less even after the 2 batches of air fried chicken.

Great Video, But It's Not The Same Because The Ribs In The Original Grill Were Not Laying Flat In Order To Cook Even As The XL. The Meat Looked Raw When You Turned It Over Because It Was Not Flat Like The XL. I'd Have To See Another Video With The Ribs Laying Flat With The Same Amount Of Meat In Both To Make A Choice. I Really Like The Way You Demonstrate. Would It Be Safer To Use A Thermometer. I Know About The Chinese Ribs. Of Course, They Are A Bit Drier But AS You Said, Very Tasty.

Tami, I’d advise you do just as our awesome cook does. I thought the same thing...why don’t I use the grill instead of air fryer? This was my first experience with the grill so I used the settings from The guide for the baby back ribs I bought on sale and used the grill attachment. Halfway through I opened the grill to a charred rack of ribs. I like a little charred but these were too much. Also the thinner part of the rack cooked faster than the fatter part. I ended up wrapping up the fatter portion and put in the oven on low heat to finish cooking. All in all, a learning experience I guess. I will try her way next time and air crisp on a lower heat.

I'm glad you reviewed cooking ribs. I tried cooking ribs in the original Foodi using directions from RUclips and I was not impressed. I used the grill plate though and not the air fry basket. Plus, I think the method I used was only 20 minutes cooking time so it makes since if it's at a lower temperature and cooks longer it would be more tender. I'll try that.
I love the Foodi Grill for steaks (grill plate), chicken wings (air fryer basket), fish (grill plate), chicken thighs (air fryer basket) but I only did the ribs one time on the grill plate and didn't like them so I'll try this method.

I have the Instant Pot Duo Crisp but I just got the Ninja Foodi Smart XL (called the Ninja Foodi Max in Spain) because I was frustrated I couldn't fit large steaks in the Duo Crisp. The round tray is just too small even for dehydrating.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still happy I have the Instant Pot Duo Crisp because it can slow cook, pressure cook, etc, but if you want to GRILL, you need an appliance that has more of a barbecue format instead of a pot format like the Instant Pot or the regular Ninja Foodi do.

We just got the XL smart one and are going to mess around with it tonight! We didn't need the XL I mainly got it cause of the smart features with the probe. Someone said you can go from frozen to cooked but we don't see how since you stick the probe in it and if it's frozen you can't do that. We are thawing out chicken breast right now for tonight and we bought hotdogs and hamburgers to try also.

Love your videos, thank you. I have the original Ninja Foodi grill (love to get the new one, but I do not have the counter space for the new larger one, plus my original ninja foodi grill is just as fine, but smaller). Remember the new ninja foodi grill is shallow and not as deep compared to the order ninja foodi grill (so maybe this is why at the 15 minute part of cooking your wonderful ribs, is maybe why the ribs looked more cooked in the new ninja compared to the order ninja. Maybe cooking times might need to be slightly adjusted as the cooking pan is closer to the fan in the new ninja compare to the older ninja according to what I have read). Keep up the yummy videos, thanks.

The ribs can only fall off the bone if it's cooked low and slow which these grills are not about.

Hubby actually said he wants the XL! I convinced him we "need" the 6 in 1 because I need a dehydrator. We had to shut off our old broken wall oven, so having something that can bake and broil will be fantastic!

I've only used the dehydrate function once or twice. It made some tasty apple snacks but it's definitely not something I need. That's this tricky part about reviews, you may need a function that I don't use. Now I'm in the mood for dehydrated apples LOL!

@@sweetsavant I had one of those white, multilevel dehydrators. I would put thin strip steak or asada type beef on it, and a day later, beef jerky! I like my jerky on the sort of crispy end of things, so it worked well for me. Also I'm thinking I could make clotted cream, I would need low and slow for that.

I just got my regular grill a couple days ago and I'd love to try doing ribs like this in it. I have the regular foodi too and I loved the pressure cook/air fry combo so it will be interesting to see what theyre like entirely air fried.
