I discovered this dish a few years ago and decided it was the best of the best. I’ve never tasted anything better, before or since. It is nearing he unbearably hot portion of my year so I won’t b doing any heavy stove work until fall. I’m glad you had a local pup nearby and hope Whisky is doing OK without his person. Can you pick up a couple of decent knives while you are there snd send them home to yourself when it’s time to go? Those look miserable 😩
Perfect ! I cook mine exactly like that as well. I wouldn’t eat un poulet chasseur these days, rather in autumn or winter (then again I don’t live in Britain 😅) but it really is one of my favorite “plat en sauce” to cook and eat.

I'll give you an update later. ::Update:: This was very good. Light and tasty. I put extra tarragon 🤫but felt I needed more. Next time I think I will use fresh tarragon. Thank you for the recipe!

Cooking abroad can be great fun, especially when you experience new ingredients. But yeah I see with some of the base stuff (salt & pepper) it can be different to what you work with at home. Anyway, seems like you did a good job of this recipe with new stuff and different tools, good job!
@@recipe30 dedicated one drawer in my kitchen to store Japanese knives and label that drawer with sticker that says SHARP KNIVES MATTER ... because it does! 😆 (Eventhough I got 3 stitches on my left index finger the first time I used a japanese knife 😅)

I did sharpen them a little on a stone outside, it helped a bit, but thanks for the tip, I'll try that next time!

Ha ha yes those knives are so blunt, I tried to sharpen them on an old rock outside which helped a little but they need a lot more work.
