When the N64 and the PS1 came out. The Children of that age were experiencing the transition from 2D gaming to 3D gaming. I don't know if there will ever be a greater progression in gaming as we experienced. We truly evolved and adapted as the games did. It was an incredible time to be apart of the evolution of the gaming industry. I consider myself blessed to have experienced it. Nothing these days seems to mirror that experience. There was no figuring out how to wring every penny out of you. Just how to present the best possible product possible. That mindset is what is holding gaming back at this point in time. More concern for micro purchases and DLC than for putting forth the absolute pinnacle of gaming that can be. I dearly miss the early 2000's. It was for the games, not for the dollars...

There have been, and will continue to be similarly transformative periods in games.
The jump from SD/720P @30-60hz as standard for serious gamers to as 4K @60-120hz as standard for serious gamers is arguably a bigger jump than the jump from late-stage 2D on blurry TVs and early-stage 3D on blurry TVs.
The advent of VR is similarly a bigger differentiator for gameplay and immersion than the jump from 2D to 3D. I could go on, but I hope you get the picture.
It’s always easy to believe the best days are behind, but it’s rarely the case

That opening cut scene is also burnt into my mind lol. I used to make so many new files as a kid that I never got further than maybe sneaking past the guards in the palace. Beating it years later this game holds up unreasonable well. I think the open world of this game is what made me so happy to play Morrowind on the og Xbox later.

I was beginning high school when it came out. I was suddenly more into girls than video games. I had a n64, but never got my own copy of the game. My friend had it. I played most of the first parts and remember enjoying it as I had been a bit of a zelda fan playing all the games before it. But I didn't finish it. Somehow I ended up with my friend's copy. I think I gave it back then he gave it back to me again some years later. Then, around 2009ish, I sat down on my pc and did a 100% run on an emulator, with slightly boosted graphics. Zelda has been there since my childhood in the 80's. It's weird growing up with a game your entire life. Yeah, there's Mario, but it's story is shallow in comparison. Last time I booted up Ocarina, my friends savefile and mine were still on the cart, untouched since high school/college.

I really think you've got a good video here, and you have a good speaking tone that feels engaging and like you know how to properly convey your meaning, but those commentary guys really do kinda take me out of it whenever they chime in. From what I can see this seems to be your channel gimmick, so I understand why you'd be reluctant to yknow, remove that or something, but I will say that perhaps the concept needs to be reworked a bit to feel more like casual interjections and feel a bit less like distractions.
Interested in what you've got going on here, keep it up.

Well, Sonic is copying the Legend Of Zelda. And there is a lot of time travel. Sonic is like Link, Silver is like Rauru, Iblis is like Volvagia, Mephiles is like Ganondorf, and Solaris is like Ganon. And even at the end of the game it does a timeline split.

good video! i would suggest removing one of your sprites though and separating it from the video so it doesnt block the gameplay footage. Having one sprite for outside commentary isnt a bad idea but I think 2 of them really overrides your video.
All in I agree it was a fantastic game and I miss being a kid and playing through these classics for the first time, new games just dont seem to hit the same. I'm not sure if its just because im older or if its that games arent really revolutionary anymore.
