I love my fujifilm x70....took it with me on our recent holiday and was really really impressed and happy with the photos I got from it. Beautiful colours and very portable too, so it is now always with me :-)
I love cameras without a zoom lens. Why? Because as you point out it forces you to think ahead and really choose your shot. Also having only one lens with you just feels right.
The photos are really crisp and sharp, and the colors really are quite stunning, I do like the idea that there is no zoom on the camera, as you mentioned it does make you think more of the shot, looking forward to see how the camera shoots video, if Fuji can make the video capture as good as their photo capture that would be amazing.
You can`t go wrong with a Fuji camera, i am a big fan of them. This one looks fantastic in the retro styling. It`s a shame the new X-T2 does not have this option. Great review and great t-shirt Dave!
You don't have to "zoom" with your legs. The X70 has digital zoom (50mm and 35mm) that I often use. The photos taken using the digital zoom are interpolated and the interpolated image quality is commendable. I could barely tell the difference between them and the ones taken without the digital zoom.

I am really fond of that camera mainly for street photo. However, I am sdtill looking for a direct and rapide way to switch to a silent mode as it exists on a lot of other cameras. Does any one know ?
or u can buy xm1 or xa1 or sony nex 5 or a5000 series or olympus .. all of them are cheaper and interchangeable lens and dont forget better video for sony and oly or panasonic
the reason not to buy it price. it so over priced, that nobody buy living in NYC I never ever see it in the hand. I see once Ricoh, like 5 x100 in the year 4 japan and one russian tourists))) even medium format Leica, but never ever x70. let's be honest fuji not want to publish numbers. it seems to me it mo reviewers than people that buy it. for mee camera is perfect if it will cost $100 . a year before i bout samsung galaxy prime.for $29.99 w/o contract with 5" HD screen and lot of features. this is today price for electronics and this is why no one will buy x70

The video is acceptable, but somewhat lacking definition.

The XF10 is a good option too.
