this overall is the best reviewer on the youtube of this camera!!!
Thanks :)
BEST review out there, I have been looking at them for 2 weeks , may buy soon.... I like how you went thru the basic controls and the menus no one else did the menus on this. My only concern is the display on sunny days, otherwise I like everything about it.
I like that you teach what the practical things you can do while going through the functions.. :) subscribed. I like the pics on the walls.
+Alice Lin Thanks Alice, glad you learned a lot form the review :) Glad you enjoyed my pics on the wall :)
Good review! Thanks for taking the time to produce it. Close to deciding whether to get on eof these.
Nice review. Great explanation of how it works without the mode dial. Ordered mine today.
+Ignatz Kat Thanks, Glad you enjoyed the review. Enjoy your X70!
Thoughtful and detailed review. Thank you!
Just an idea, but perhaps Fuji could implement a mode where the LCD serves as a giant histogram display? This would be useful for those who use an optional OVF. The histogram display would be entirely black and white (contrasty) and useful in setting exposure in bright sun. :)
Really great review. Thanks for skipping the tech specs and going into the buttons and your experience with the camera.
Thanks. Its a pleasure Billy!
Good review, much of the XT-1 appears in the X70 and that's why it is a great street shooter. I purchased the Nikon Coolpix A very cheaply for £215 but for approximately £500 both Ricoh and Fuji have excellent offerings.
You can set the brightness of the lcd - makes it easy to see in most conditions...
Thank you for your channel!!!! I learn soooooo much.
+Patrick Germond Its a pleasure Patrick, glad you enjoy the show :)
got mine on day 1, its awesome. saving for x pro 2 now.
Great Review, picking mine up tomorrow!
+ajayonline Awesome! Enjoy your new X70!
It sounds like a decent camera though quite expensive at the start. But what scares me off most in mirror-less cameras is the absence of the optical zoom.
+Anthony Loomsberg Not all mirrorless cameras are like this camera. My Fuji X-T1 has lenses like my normal SLR camera. They tried to make the X70 as small as possible.
Okay, on the SX50 I found the aprature dial on top Av. But I bumped into it somewhere else using the buttons on the back and can't find it now! UHG!
Wonderful review. Thanks. But I'll stick with my X100S. Having said that, the bride has offered to buy me an X70 for Christmas. I'm tempted, but I can show six areas where the X70 is inferior. But do I want an X70 ... yeah. Looks like a great little camera, but compared to the X100S or X100T it's flawed. Seems Fuji was trying to wring that last dregs out of an old tech. But, yeah, I still want one.
I found the auto focus when making video, the sound is so noisy. Any trick to minimize it?
is quality high enough of fuji x70 for photostocks?
Thanks. Excellent run through of camera operation. Am I correct that the X70 does NOT have the ACROS film simulation modes?
Yes, it doesn't. Hopefully later with a Firmware Update.
Correct, it doesn't have it. I've heard technically it's only possible with the x-tran CMOS-3 (Xpro2) according to Fujifilm.
+John McCormack Its a pleasure John. It does not. Maybe Fuji comes up with a surprize :)
Best review, gets to the nitty gritty.
nice review thanks
+bananepoep Thanks :)
A solution of for the problem that your wife had seeing the screen at the beach might be to use a foldable lcd screen shade. The make them for 3 inch screens.
Great review!
Thanks for explaining what a hot shoe is!!!!
+mohammad Hossein Jafari Its a pleasure :)
Hello, my name is Marianne and I just watched a bunch of your videos and found them very helpful, which is why I subscribed. I found especially useful the one about off camera flash that you posted back in 2015 but I had a few questions. I am not going to flood here with my questions, but I just would like to let you know that I sent my questions to your email that you provided on your website I hope you don't mind and dont' think that it's junk email. Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon:)
can it be charged via USB?
+Sam Raymi yes
this would have been a decent 10 minute video.
This or the Panasonic LX100?
+afmarin90 They seem to me to be quite different cameras. The X70 seems like a specialist camera with plenty of customisable buttons and manual controls tailored specifically for street shooters. The LX100 is more versatile and general purpose with its zoom lens. I would think unless you know you want the X70 (for street shooting), the LX100 will be more suitable for most people.
Thanks! yea I've been struggling to decide which camera I would rather have. Having the versatility of the zoom is nice, but the Fuji also has the "zoom" option. I like that the screen tilts but I like that the lx100 has a viewfinder also. It's a tough one but thank you for replying.
+afmarin90 I love talking photography so no problem at all! I just got the X70 and I love it. If I'm not wrong, the "zoom" is just a digital crop and not full resolution, so I wouldn't use it. I'm a Fuji fan (I have the X-T10 also) and I just love their camera design and dials, film simulation modes, excellent jpegs etc. which you don't get from other camera makers. That said, the LX100 is also a gorgeous camera with impressive specs and great value now (esp. if you can find one used), so you probably won't be disappointed either way (:
I read that even though it's a "crop" it maintains the full resolution through some algorithm. Not sure if it's true or not.
"This is not a technical review".....begins speaking about specs..
great stuff ! but ... SIR YOU LOOK HIDEOUS
Expensive crap.
