    Far and away THE BEST REVIEW OF THR X70 on RUclips. Your pics were amazing. 👏

      Though one correction. You can completely turn off the touch screen in the menu. So basically that icon in upper right doesn't even show up. Other reviews have shown the menu setting (same area as Fn setting I believe).

    I can always see the passion in your videos! That's why I initially subbed. Definitely something that I carried over into my videos from yours. Keep it up! :)

    Bert, thanks for your thoughts on the X70. I got this camera recently and discovered that you can turn off the touch screen in the setup menu. Please keep your videos coming, as they are among the best in the Fuji world!

    Your flickr photos from Cuba are giving me serious thoughts about purchasing the X70. I love those photos. I find myself shooting my XT10 a lot with the flip screen.

    I appreciate your Fuji videos very much. This vid and one pertaining to the Fuji x30 were especially helpful.

    Thank you Bert,
    I agree, I also love this camera but can't wait for the to fix the problem with the touch screen and moving the focus points. Hopefully fuji will release a software update and add an off function to the menu or find a better solution for this very annoying problem.

    The 35mm (or equivalent focal length) is my favorite, so I naturally gravitate to the X100 range of cameras. But, if I were a 28mm shooter, I'd definitely pick one of these up!

    Great images and very inspiring.
    You make that 18mm sing. I am a 35mm shooter but your pictures encouraged me to switch and try wide angle
    Thanks

    Great review. I prefer the Ricoh GR/GRii, but the X70 is great. Your photos are amazing.

    I own the X70 and like your video very much, especially the pictures you took with the camera. I'm curious if you are using RAW or JPEG mode. Cheers from Switzerland

    Great camera! Bought it to get 18mm with a small body. But I'm ended up using it all the time, almost replacing my x100s. Small and not intrusive :-)

    Your photos are awesome. How would you compare this with the Sony RX-100 IV for street and "always with me" use? I've had other Sonys and Fujis, and I'd probably choose the X70 for the no-nonsense fixed lens.

    • @bertstephani
      @bertstephani  8 лет назад

      I'm just not a fan of Sony's menus and interface. So I can't tell how it compares.

    • @Lainer1
      @Lainer1 8 лет назад

      Sony RX100 has a 1 inch sensor and the Fuji X70 has a much larger APS-C sensor. Fuji is fixed lens, no EVF. Sony has an EVF and zoom lens.

      I looked at both in a shop and the X70 was the obvious choice. It has good ergonomics and looks durable. The RX100 has terrible ergonomics, you can't even hold it properly without a stick-on grip. Also the Sony has lots of dinky little fixtures that will break off. I bought the X70. I miss stabilisation for low light, but in every other respect I'm delighted with the results.

    • @Lainer1
      @Lainer1 7 лет назад

      The X70 is a lovely camera. In the end it's what each individual likes the most. I chose the Sony for the compact size as I currently use a Ricoh GR for stills, and a larger Fuji X camera, (among others). I remedied the ergonomics with a half case, or grip along with wrist strap. I've never broken off anything from a camera, and I've owned many Sony camera too. I find the RX100 series to be pretty robust, but having said that, it's slippery so best to wear with a strap or have a grip.

    Great Vid. Just got my X70 as my first step into the Fuji world and really enjoying it. Can you talk a bit more about your B/W processing? Are you shooting straight jpg or converting from raw files? Thanks!

    Very nice vid! Could you tell if the power switch lever is on the stiff side when turning it on or off? I recently bought but had to return the X100s since the power lever was extremely tight and almost impossible for me to turn the camera off with one hand.

    I've been thinking about trading my 16mm f1.4 for the x70. I know it sounds crazy but I find I don't use it a fraction of the time that I use the 35 and the 56 because the situations that I would like to use it in, the 16mmm, mounted on my x-pro2, feels a little bulky and also with a wide like that I often like to go higher or lower and for that I would like a tilt screen. I think this video finally "pushed me over the edge".

    • @bertstephani
      @bertstephani  8 лет назад

      Doesn't sound crazy to me. If you would be using the 16mm all the time, it would be better to stick with the better 16mm 1.4 - but if you only use it occasionally, an X70 could make sense. It will give you a wide angle lens and a fun camera to take with you all the time.

      Thank you for responding. I'm eager to try street photography and feel that this would be perfect and also I could be more stealthy around my kids :-)

    Just checked your site, I really like your pictures! The 24 hours in Japan was my favorite. Very nice. Were some of those shot with the x70?

    • @bertstephani
      @bertstephani  8 лет назад

      Thanks, the 24 hours in Tokyo project was way before the X70 was announced. Most of those picture where shot with the X100S, X-Pro1 and some with the X-M1

    " No viewfinder is a trade for it's compact size! Don't think that's all true. " There is place for a viewfinder even in smaller camera's. I think it's to keep it cheaper than with a viewfinder. For me this was the reason for a no buy, but than your miles may differ . . .

    • @bertstephani
      @bertstephani  7 лет назад

      Price and size were definitely both important in the decision making. Since the X70 is not my main camera, I don't mind there's no viewfinder but like you said, that's a personal preference.
