don’t worry, you weren’t bragging about the scholarships you received. Being top 10 is an impressive achievement that you have to work hard for, so it’s nice to be rewarded for that
omg thank you for speaking my language. you focused on how much money each gave you rather then all the emotional bullshit about how pretty the campus was and how your best friend is going there. Also you basically gave me a nice list of "generous" colleges.
i'm late but i really like how you emphasize about the out of state tuition... its really nice to see young upcoming college student consider that and not just over look it and go for a school due to its popularity.. I recently had a close cousin of mine who got into out of state college and its was private school and super expensive .. she didn't care about the tuition which upset me but its her college journey..
I'm a UCF Alumni (graduated 1.5 years ago). I attended out-of-state though, on an academic scholarship. So, it was actually cheaper for me to go out-of-state to UCF, instead of staying in-state in the Chicago area. I loved my UCF experience, it really is an amazing school. It's officially surpassed FSU in stats, and it's quickly gaining on UF because of the internship opportunities. Because of the location of UCF, I was able to gain 4 college internships that allowed me to get the amazing position I currently have now (in advertising). Plus, it was an amazing experience to be able to attend a huge, diverse college that is so close to Universal, Disney, the beach, and a growing city. I wouldn't change a thing about my experience and meet so many Knights (I live in Texas now). But I understand now wanting to attend a college close to home. I left my home state to attend UCF and it was the best decision I've ever made. So if someone can afford to attend a school out-of-state (or get a scholarship to make it happen) I highly suggest it.
Caitlin Marie Let’s be real, UCF is a commuter school and will never be on the level of UF or FSU. I know us Alumni want that to not be the case, but outside of Central Florida nobody knows what UCF is.
I'm Floridian and only applied to in-state schools (Nova, FAU, FIU, Stetson, and UCF), but after seeing this video I wish I had applied to some out of state just to see what kind of scholarships I could get. I have half of my tuition covered at UF (my dream school, since I grew up a Gator) and after being here 3 years I'm happy I didn't go to the school that gave me a full-ride because I know now it wouldn't have been the right school for me. I'm glad you found the right school for you AND got a full-ride!
I think it is funny how people from Florida say that here is a great place to live and they wish they could live in North Carolina while me being a resident of the outer banks, we say the same thing about florida
The stress was super real with all of these applications!!! Congrats on all of your acceptances!! I just posted a vid too about the colleges I applied to and where I’m going to in the fall😭
Omg I live in Florida and really want to go to an university in New York too! I’ve visited NY a bunch of times throughout childhood, I’ve come to really like the big city feel. I’m not the most academic student, pretty mediocre besides my gpa (4.0 unweighted). I was scared to take challenging classes my first two years of high school because I wanted to maintain my good gpa. I’m a junior this year and finally taking honors classes for the first time (two, to be specific) and I find it easy. I’m now just laying in a river of regrets for not challenging myself enough in the past now that I know I could make it. Anyways, the most realistic university I could think of and is set place in a setting I like is NYU. I haven’t started applying yet but I really wish I could get in!😣
The school I go to is actually a direct connect to UCF. So you're basically guaranteed a spot in the school. Also we must live pretty close to each other since UCF is also pretty close to me :)
Was school ranking at all a consideration for you? Alabama is beautiful and offers great scholarships but the ranking is not as high as some of the other schools you got into and one's my son is looking into. My son is going for engineering and we are totally torn because we just loved Alabama the second we stepped on campus but he doesn't know if he should go elsewhere and pay more because of rank. Btw..impressive achievements and I'm sure you will be a great success when you graduate!
That's so funny! I applied to NC State and the Parks Scholarship and only got to semifinalist #rip. I'll probably be going there as I still have a pretty good shot at some other scholarships and programs (the only other college I applied to was UNC Chapel Hill but I don't think I'm getting any scholarships from there haha)
Lol you applied to alot of colleges I think i applied to 3 in 1999...Rutgers Umiami and either Washington U in st louis(they sent me 5 brochures I had never heard of it back in 1999) or Georgia Tech(can't remember if I applied here) I got a 50% scholarship at UMiami and It was still 5k more than Rutgers I went to Rutgers (from out of State I loved Six Flags and the garden State parkway and went to Rutgers)...I finished around 60 out of 450 in graduating class and scored 1310(710/600) out of 1600 on SAT
My dream college is Washington University because of the vet program and also to get out of my boring home state SOUTH CAROLINA (the colleges here are good like Furman and Clemson but the actual state is hella boring)
prskyguy Claflin is just a really small University and wasn’t the right fit for me personally! But I’m really happy at the University of Alabama with a full tuition scholarship 😊
When you were applying to many of these places, did you do it early decision or regular decision? Because from my looking at scholarships, it looks like most good scholarships happen early decision.
Hey do you mind saying your SAT/ACT scores? If not on a public forum, do you mind communicating with me directly via email or any sms/dm format? I'm a junior in high school and I'm antsy about scores; I take my SATs in March.
I’m currently considering UA as the university I go to in a couple months... I would like to know about those out of state scholarships that you were talking about ... plz let me know
my mom only applied to one college and she knew that she would get in because she was the ideal student with the ideal scores and grades for that school so it's not always a bad idea
I’m a freshman in high-school. I want to study political science in an Ivy League college (more specifically Yale or Harvard). I have a GPA of 4.3 I believe, and have participated in Model UN for two consecutive years. I have also been accepted into the page and messenger program in Tallahassee. If I keep this up, will I have a possibility of getting accepted?
Don't wait until your senior year, you'll be so stressed. I live right next to Yale, if you keep you scores up you'll probably make it. They aren't as strict as they used to be. Do a lot of volunteer work. Start thinking and gathering things to put on your application in your Junior year.
MysticOceanDollies honestly, it really depends. Schools like Harvard and Yale have so many applicants that they can very picky about who they accept. I would say to shoot as high as possible on the sat or act and have leadership position in 2 to 3 clubs. Top schools usually look for quality over quantity. Leadership of 2 or 3 organizations is better than membership to 10 clubs. Also, remember that your application is your brand. Pick activities that represent your interests and be diligent (i.e. Don't just join clubs junior and senior year). With your activities make sure that you emphasize problem solving and teamwork in your application. Also, broaden your search. You might get into schools like Stanford or Cornell. Hope this helps!
I'm a senior and this is the biggest tip I can give you. Take the SAT and/or ACT as early as you can and STUDY. My GPA, class rank, extracurricular, and community service are on point. However, I waited too long to take my SAT. Now I'm stressing about raising my test score to increase my chances of getting more scholarships. Also freshman and sophomore year are probably the most important years of high school, believe it or not. I took all honors and I got a 96 and up in all my classes simply because they were easy. This helps significantly with GPA because it creates a cushion. In your junior and senior years when you begin taking AP courses like chemistry, biology, and calculus , your grades might take a hit ( depending on you). For me it was nice to not have to stress about my GPA dropping dramatically because I know it was solid from my first two years. Good luck getting in to the ivy league schools.
Definitely do not wait until senior year and keep in mind that just good grades and good test scores are not enough. Make sure to have a lot of volunteer work, get involved in school clubs and activities and try to do some work-based learning (internships and job shadowing).
Interesting you wouldn't apply to the best school in the SEC - the University of Georgia. Oh well. I guess those other inferior schools need students, too.
So I'm not from the USA and.... You guys need scholarships? What? You PAY to apply?????? Holy shit your country kinda sucks? XD sorry, I'm just so surprised!!
It depends on your GPA and how well you did on your ACT or SAT since you have to take it from high school and if you get the highest GPA from the school, you will want to research what's your favorite college and stuff like that. Hope that helps ;)
don’t worry, you weren’t bragging about the scholarships you received. Being top 10 is an impressive achievement that you have to work hard for, so it’s nice to be rewarded for that

Salma Speaks
If I got accepted into Harvard University, I wouldn’t care going from California (UCLA) to Massachusetts (Harvard).
@@LizethYT That's good seeing as Harvard is private and doesn't have in-state/out-of-state tuition...
Can you make a video on your scores, GPA, and such?

Summer Wright what school is that? that’s so cool.
It's called Eastern Florida State College, you can take UCF classes there too. They kinda consider it another UCF campus
You provide such great advice on the scholarship process!! Very helpful for students!
What were your act/ sat scores?
I love when colleges take the time to make stuff purse in a bowl
What were your scores SAT, ACT and GPA? Just curious.
I applied to 0 colleges because I’m in middle school 😂. Loved the video because it was helpful
i thought i was the only stressed nervous scared middle schooler about to attend highschool next year.

Not surprised about USC being a mess haha. Tennessee and North Carolina are such beautiful places to live and go to school in.
I’m touring Alabama on the 13th !! I’m super excited!
If you got the presidential scholarship, you must of had a 34 or higher on your ACT. And 4.0 unweighted gpa.
the quality of this vid! ❤️

At what age did you start looking at college and started thinking about scholarships and just the school you want to go to?
This really helped because I'm going to be a college freshman thanks.
Just found your channel, and I love it already!! I go to Alabama too, and we applied to similar schools! So happy I found your channel!

I’m 12/ close to 13... WHY AM I WATCHING THIS NOW!?😂😂
Well. I guess I don’t know what I want to be when I get older.😂😅
When you were applying to many of these places, did you do it early decision or regular decision? Because from my looking at scholarships, it looks like most good scholarships happen early decision.
Aidan Rogers you can only apply to one school with early decision. But you can apply to multiple schools with early action.
Indiana was the best business school you got accepted to.
Why didn't you apply to University of Miami?
Hey do you mind saying your SAT/ACT scores? If not on a public forum, do you mind communicating with me directly via email or any sms/dm format? I'm a junior in high school and I'm antsy about scores; I take my SATs in March.
Alfi Muhamad i feel this, that’s how i am right now taking the SATs and ACTs
Can you empathize on what Kind of GPA you have to be able to get accepted to these awesome colleges?
Katherine Pearls a 4.0 but if you get in you need to keep at least a 3.5 to stay
so I'm from Alabama and can I just say how much I don't like Samford, but UAB pretty great If you ask me

That’s stupid what if you get rejected from the one college and you have no back up colleges
my mom only applied to one college and she knew that she would get in because she was the ideal student with the ideal scores and grades for that school so it's not always a bad idea
To be honest I didn't get rejected or anything, but not saying what college that I'm in.
