I am curious how that works, does chaos and the voices just drown out Horus’ sense, reason and memory of who he was? I see it a lot with the traitor primarchs almost all at some point regretting what they did/are doing, but then they just sort of shrug that off and continue doing awful things contrary to who they once were.
I see a lot of individuals turn traitor and regret it, but never the other way around, nor do the traitors ever revert or redeem themselves, regardless of their regrets or even when they look in the mirror and say ‘what the hell am I even doing?’

I always found it so interesting to know that really, all of the Primarchs were supposed to be these great, upstanding bastions of Humanity, especially Angron. Thing is, one’s own natural environment they are born into can often sway one’s own mental development for sure. And sure, some Primarchs overcame their sometimes quite actual ENVIRONMENTAL obstacles but they were found by downright supportive “fathers” such as the Wolf and the Lion. Mortarion and Angron, ESPECIALLY Angron, didn’t have such a luxury. Even still, Angron, despite those damned nails, was for at a time someone you could sit down and have a beer with sort of guy and have a decent time. Some of the Primarchs were “born” in a Hell all alone and overcame it but had nice fathers of a sort once found. Some were instantly found by fathers and their fathers taught them something poisonously fierce, or maybe the fathers became corrupted later on and caused shit to fall apart. Environment, and then people environment, maketh the Man. It’s just so damn strange. They, the Primarchs, really do be like us. Is it that simple, that they themselves are in fact Human?

Horus and Sanguinius being a bros that spark some of their psyche to remains in the warp, this psyche met and fight each other arguing about their final battle on Terra. Their fight is so great and since the concept of time in the warp is incongruent, sometimes their psyche escape the warp to possess other beings in a different time. One time, their psyche time travels and posessed two krorks brother, then they fight each other with each strikes both grow bigger, the fight last so long that the other krorks call them Gork and Mork.

I remember hearing somewhere that every once in awhile there's a warp storm and people will come out of it from parallel dimensions.... Like one where the loyalist primarchs trader and the ones that turned traitor were in fact still loyalist which means that in that world or us never fell.... But apparently gilliman did. Of course such interdimensional traffic is usually met with the typical imperial response of overwhelming firepower. That is of course the great irony: if there are worlds out there for 40K or your favorite comic book continuity where everything and happily.... They are likely going to great effort to be very quiet because of any of the other crap sack worlds notice them then everything will probably go to hell while becoming just another tragic chapter in maintaining the crap sack status quo.

It's worthwhile mentioning though that apparently a method to clone the primarchs has been discovered my possibly the worst possible person....Fabious Bile himself. He successfully cloned fulgrim who had full genetic memory but was still in his preheresy mental state and thus was very chagrined at what had happened....... Bile didn't trust that Fulgrim wouldn't just be corrupted all over again anyhow so he sold him off to trazum the infinite and he's likely been held in stasis ever since. With a possible exception of angron, my suspect most of the traitor primarchs would welcome a second chance.... And Theoretically if you cloned Angron and didn't actually implant the butcher's nails........ Well that would be a very interesting person to meet.

You could do wholesome while still being grimdark. After all there is still darkness in the idea of a loving family of demigods fighting against the darkness, giving it all they got but still lose to it time and time again that is still very depressing. Didn’t have to be Horus Heresy specifically but the “edgelords” in the fandom who live joyless lives would scream and complain about it till the end of time (which is something they do now anyways but w/e)

I'm not sure of the exact story this is from but the mention of "Thralls" leads me to believe this particular Xeno race had actually enslaved humanity somehow. in which case they had it coming tbh. The whole reason why Humanity hates Xenos as much as they do is because literally as soon as the old night happened the vast majority of Xenos like the Dark Eldar immediately began predating humans, even if they had been supposedly allied under the star trek ass Dark Age era human empire.
