    Hi Megan
    I had Double Major Serious Surgery on the 12th of February. I had Rotator Cuff Tear Repair and I also had part of my Collar Bone Cut Off and a small Metal Rod put in where he cut part of my Collar Bone Off at - I had Arthritis really really bad in my AC Joint which is on top of the Shoulder. I was in Surgery for two hours. Made it through Surgery just fine. Was in Recovery for two hours instead of only one hour because I had major problems with my Breathing. I could not breathe or catch my breath. They had to keep giving me sleeping medicine so I would stay asleep and stayed calm. My one nurse kept giving me Hugs during that time. My Breathing finally got back to Normal after two hours. Than they put me back in my own room and I slept some more until they woke me up. My Orthopedic Surgeon had my entire neck - front and back all taped up - my entire shoulder all the way down to my arm all bandaged and taped up as well. My Pastor was with me the entire time. He stayed in my room while I was in Surgery. After the Nurse woke me up they help me get dressed - Pajama top and sweat pants - than my Pastor took me back home. When we got back to my house - my other Pastor/Nurse was there and my life long friend was there too. My Other Pastor/Nurse was the one that took my hand and help me get back into my house and she stayed with me until she knew I was okay to be by myself. My life long friend got my meds that afternoon. It was dark out when I got home that same night. The first three days that I was home it was very rough. I broke out into a heat rash from wearing the sling. My Pastor/Nurse got me some Hydrocortisone Cream to put on my arm and it helped clear it up. I now have my stitches out and all of the tape and bandages taken off and the stitches taken out. All of my friends have been telling me that I am doing amazing considering how tough my Surgery was. I am a fighter and I fought like heck to make it through the recovery so I could go back home and by golly I did it.
    Megan - I know what your mean about being tired because that is the way I have been since I have had Surgery.
    I am keeping you in my Prayers. I hope everything goes well and that you have a healthy baby boy.
    Praying for your entire family.
    Love all of your Stitching and your Knitting.
    I can’t stitch or Crochet due to having Surgery.
    Take Care & Happy Stitching - Knitting

I can’t imagine not being able to stitch or knit. I hope that the surgery helps for the better though. Sounds like it was definitely needed. The down time is just so hard. I’m glad you had such good nurses and your pastor there with you. I’ll be thinking of you in the coming weeks hoping you all the health and wellness friend. 🤍🤍🤍

      @@TheSeattleStitcher - Thank you so much Megan - it has not been fun. The first three days after Surgery was really rough. I felt like I was hit by a truck. I have a really good support system plus my Surgery Nurse I can call her up anytime I want to or need to. Watching Flosstube has been helping. My local library - the Librarian has been bringing me books that I want to read. The Recovery is going real slow but all of my Friends are amazed on how well I am doing since I have had my Surgery. Thank You Megan ❤️🤗🙏🧵🪡🧵❤️

      Thank you! I buy the cones from Holst directly. Here is the link. Shipping is a bit pricy because it’s over seas but I stock up and get multiple cones to really make it worth it for me. It is very rustic yarn but great for outer layers or sweaters you would wear a long sleeve under anyway. I love the color selection too. holstgarn.dk/en/supersoft-wool-2/

    Great to see you. Your projects look wonderful . Can you help me on your simple hat. How many stitches too cast on for a 21 1/2 size head. Needle size is a 3 fingering weight yarn knit picks. And I never knit rim do you like that and does it keep its shape. Usually rib rim. Take care ❤dear

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  5 месяцев назад

      Hello! Your cast on will depend on your gage. How many stitches you are getting per inch. I would recommend knitting a small swatch in the round and blocking it. Atleast 4”x4” of knitting. That way you will have a good swatch to measure how many stitches per inch you get and from there you will know how many to cast on. Hope that helps! Happy knitting my friend.

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  4 месяца назад

      Honestly o have just been stitching when I can. I find knitting to be a little easier while nursing and I don’t like having needles out to stitch while around the baby just because I’m scared of dropping one. Thats my own thing though LOL. I didn’t stitch for a couple weeks though. We are coming up to three weeks with Malakai here and I just started getting 20min here and there. He has not been an “easy” baby though.
