I remember staying up late watching the release of this game on TV. So insane and the hype was real. Was so excited to pick it up the next day. My brother, cousins, and I played for hours on end. One of my most treasured memories. Weird to think there was a day where we all logged off for the last time
I sometimes boot up my 360 when I wake up early just to behold this menu, I've loved it ever since it first came out and I saw it in a rent-to-own store where every TV at the back had it playing, which was before I even had an Xbox myself. When I finally got one and played Halo 3 I must've spent a good while entranced by that beautiful animated background and the equally wonderful music of Martin O'Donnell, which funnily enough was the first time I'd heard halo's music.
@@datdude2339 Forget me man, the people who made that game and that series deserve your thanks. I just felt like I had to express it's impact on me, but thank you for bringing me back here and if anything I said helped or resinated with you. My god that music is good
There are no words to describe the feeling I get when I listen to this and see THIS. This was it, this was my childhood. The entire neighborhood coming over riding bikes during the day going on adventures then to come back and split screen on big team battle until the sun came up. This wasn't just a video game, this was an aura, and I'm very lucky and fortunate to say I lived through this time. Thank you to all of you here in the comments and all who played Halo 1, 2, and 3. I will miss these memories, and even though they are gone and this time isn't here and now I won't forget and they will forever be in my heart.
God damn, this hits hard. I remember sitting in the main menu listening to this absolute masterpiece. I miss the old days, and it’s sad to know that there never coming back. But halo 3 will always hold a special place in our hearts. A moment of silence for this godly game, and in our hearts, it’ll never die. o7
remember my older brother getting the game on launch and him playing it for so long, then he moved on and started his own family by moving far away from us, hearing this makes me tear up thinking about him
How much I miss those times. One day I came out of the pub and reinstalled Halo 3 in my drunk just to listen to the music in the menu. I went to the multiplayer menu and looked at the map where you used to be able to see who was online where worldwide (Europe, USA, etc.) Now the entire world map is dark. I will miss Halo 3 forever...
Does anyone else get this huge wave of sadness whenever they hear or see the Halo 3 main menu? I was 12 years old in 2007 and playing Halo 3 is one of my most cherished memories, I know that sounds really sad and weird but this game was my childhood and when I think back to my childhood I think back to this game and how much fun I had with it, I have such great memories of joining random custom lobbies and playing games such as Fat Kid, Jenga, Duck Hunt, Trash Compactor, Ghostbusters, Sky Castle.... The list goes on. I miss it so much.
Nah man, that's why we're all here. We all are crying right now. We all know we lived through the best gaming days possible, and we realize they're not coming back :(
It's seriously humbling, mind blowing and pretty goddamn depressing there's so many people out there who feel the exact same way I feel about this game. For millions of people, we all share a deep appreciation for a few years in the 2,000s bursting with nostalgia and dear memories we all hold so close to our hearts. And in the years since we last put down our Xbox 360 controllers and moved onto other newer games, made more memories and grew as people do, huge pieces of each of our hearts remained right here, in the Halo 3 menu to never age, never move, just frozen in time until the last one of us moved onto the next life and nobody alive remembers 2007 and some of the best days of millions of people lives. I know I'll look back on Halo 3 with love until my last breath.
The first time I played halo 3 I went over to a friends house, I had never heard of halo and had not even really played Xbox since i was an outdoorsy kid. They had an upstairs game room, it was a large room that was always dark or dimly lit by the giant televisions they had. (maybe a 72" old school flat screen, so not very flat). the room was always cold, it felt cool dark, the couch big and comfortable and also dark, when you were in that room the lighting from the television is what illuminated the entire space. I remember getting lost in that cool room looking at the main menu screen for halo 3, and the audio over the surround sound system. Its what made me fall in love with the atmosphere mood and vibe a game can create. Over 14 years later and I have yet to get that same feeling again, and I probably never will, but damn am I sure happy I got to experience this game that way because it felt magical then, and even now looking back through nostalgia's lens. Its the reason I heavily invested my life into gaming, stories, OSTs, and lead down a line of positive addiction, and could be the sole point in my life that lead me to be a triple A game designer, Thank you Bungie.
I am crying I just hopped on my 360, knowing my friends who I played with are long gone. This was also my first video game, my first Halo game, and my first multiplayer. Edit: This is where it hits most bois: 3:56
I was only 6 or 7 years old in 2007, I remember when my older brother left for boot camp a few days before Halo 3 released, but then the months went by he came back home I saw he had his Xbox 360 and Halo 3 with him and I saw both my brother and sister start up the game and seeing the Halo 3 menu screen was amazing, they started playing through the campaign together. They're just memories now, so then I started playing Halo for myself for the first time back in 2012 Halo Reach was my first Halo game I did lots of cool things with my friends on Xbox Live and the forge custom games, and also go into matchmaking being introduced to other people from around the world, it was an amazing experience for me. And now I know that I'll miss those wonderful times for as long as I live.
Genuinely, thank you to everyone who made my childhood awesome by playing with/against me in this game. These memories will last a lifetime. Halo Infinite multiplayer is fun, but this was Halo at its best.
It was truly a privilege to serve with you all. We went feet first into oblivion. We forged our own paths. Crushed Dynasties. We became legends. Remember we never die. We are MIA. Spartan Zepherous (Z092) going dark
The best thing about being able to hear this again, is knowing that there are likely some old friends still listening to it as well. Much love to all of you.
xXBeastMaster376, if you're here somehow, I changed my gamertag to SeaL0rd You and I played Halo Infected and then played a lot of Minecraft when that came out on Console. We built the "Scarab" on Sandbox in Halo 3's Forge. With a Wraith acting as the main gun. And then made a "Human Scarab" to match it with Human Weapons
I remember I let this game sit open for a few minutes only to be caught off guard by the music. I was looking at stuff on my phone and started listening and was taken aback by how beautiful it was. There was something so cozy about it that I hadn’t felt that much from other games, and it was a super cool experience. I didn’t grow up with this game, but this title screen makes me feel like I’ve been with it since before I was born, and that we’ve been friends ever since
For all those Spartans who one day connected without knowing that it was going to be the last time and For all those friendships that were forged in those years and that still exist today.
I remember me and my brother playing this one night and we don’t even remember falling asleep we just woke up on the floor with out controllers next to us and this music was all we heard. I’ll never forget those days. Bitter sweet
Forever engraved as a core memory. Working best buy midnight release for this, getting it a few days early because of it and sleeping to this music for years. Thanks for the memories.
This takes me back... this was the first halo game I played.. because my siblings had a n64 then the ps2. The phat xbox 360 with a copy of halo3 the was my first real exposure to gaming. This menu reminds me of waiting for my siblings to finish what they were doing as I had the system set up to this already. We didn't have internet. But we had eachother and the nights consisted of multiple co-op campaigns or 4 player custom games. I miss it sometimes. MCC is fun but I just wish to go back sometimes
I miss those days playing it with friends and with my father and even my mother also played it with me and you know something? I would give anything to go back to those times even for just a moment.
Halo 3 was the first halo game I got when I got it on the 360, ive played it since until I got Halo MCC, i still remember the days when me and my friends would play custom games alot... All of us still play together to this day in Halo MCC because our bond with one another can not be broken
Makes me shed a tear man the bond between gamers extends far beyond anything else the memories and fun we had then was just simply not beatable I hope one day I can look back and say I really was lucky to be living in a good time even if it was short
Custom games every night. people to play with, my new kittens and my dad was still alive. That time was truly magical for me. About as perfect as life can be.
I had a friend who would play this game nonstop, and was actually really good, reaching Brigadier Gen rank 2 or so. I would sleep over his house with my trio of buddies and I'll never forget the times. I was doing homework, reading a book, our friend was on Facebook arcade or games playing the game where you dodge the blocks for as long as you can, and our friend whose house we slept over would lay on his bed playing Halo 3 all night, shit talking and being a generally toxic player, but that's how it was back then, lol. I remember when his stepdad would come in to tell us to shut up and turn the game off, and he would talk back, "Shut the fuck up TOM." We were in middle school back then. I'll never forget that night. Such a dumb night too. I remember waking up to this music a few times in the night when we were all sleeping. It's such comforting music.
It's even got the 360 notification sound 😩 I knew the 360 and halo franchise was going to become history, especially how "mind blowing" halo 3 was!! I remember having updates for the game and would come home from school just to hear the menu music 🤤. It's been over 5 years since I last played a halo game...with the new halo coming out, I'm for sure playing it! 🤞
Mate of mine and I picked the new 360 and this gem up on release day, going late into the night on the campaign and multiplayer enjoying pizza and plenty of other snacks. It’s weird 17 years later playing this song for my son as he goes to sleep. Nostalgia really hits like nothing else in this world…. Can never thank you boys enough for the memories.
Oh the nostalgia me and my brother and our friends we would always play this game when we were kids and we also played with everyone online Xbox live on the Xbox 360 and my Xbox 360 name was DoomWillyWonka so hello to anyone and everyone that remembers my name on the Xbox 360 and this game will have a special place in our hearts❤ and our souls forever😀.
I sometimes worry about the day when Microsoft decides to shut down the servers of the MCC. I worry about a day when we might never again get to play halo online matchmaking in a sanctioned environment again.
"Thank you for playing the MCC and making the Halo community what it is but unfortunately due to rising costs of operations we will have to retire the MCC servers. Though Halo Infinite is available with free multiplayer" some BS MS would pull. Wouldn't be surprised.
Those days might be gone but if your reading this than your still here. Be proud not many made it this far, there are those you care for that didn’t either. We keep going because we don’t want to let those we care about down. That alone makes you strong. Keep fighting keep carrying on because if you feel heavy it’s simply the hope of those that didn’t make it. Carry on their will spartan
Only the real OGs know these by heart and not just cause we jam them on the tubes/albums etc. I remember those late nights when I wanted to play more cause my heart said yes but my mind and body said no. I would pass out to this or wake up to it and it was just so beautiful. Whether waiting on friends, for a match to start, or to get a second wind... it’s etched into my soul forever.
I was born 2008 and I remember getting the Xbox 360 at 7 or 8 years old and my mom bought me halo 3 for it from GameStop although I couldn’t play campaign or online I would always either listen to this masterpiece or play in forge with my stepdad or myself. This game and music means a ton to me.
Something about halo has always kept me attached, couldn't quite figure it out. But as I got older i soon realized that being a 8 foot man with titanium armor saving humanity and the kick ass soundtrack martin made for halo was the reason I was so attached. Thank you for everyone who has played this, made this, or loves this masterpiece of a game.
R.I.P TO ALL MY FELLOW SPARTANS THAT DIDNT MAKE IT TO HALO INFINITE ♾ much love ❤️ you’ll live with the guardians forever ‼️ I’ll never forget how much fun I had as a kid playing this game I’ve been blessed to grow up in a time where things like this exist

Master Cheif collection bro
I remember staying up late watching the release of this game on TV. So insane and the hype was real. Was so excited to pick it up the next day. My brother, cousins, and I played for hours on end. One of my most treasured memories. Weird to think there was a day where we all logged off for the last time
I sometimes boot up my 360 when I wake up early just to behold this menu, I've loved it ever since it first came out and I saw it in a rent-to-own store where every TV at the back had it playing, which was before I even had an Xbox myself. When I finally got one and played Halo 3 I must've spent a good while entranced by that beautiful animated background and the equally wonderful music of Martin O'Donnell, which funnily enough was the first time I'd heard halo's music.
omg same it was such a good game
Thank you… I needed to hear that
@@datdude2339 Forget me man, the people who made that game and that series deserve your thanks. I just felt like I had to express it's impact on me, but thank you for bringing me back here and if anything I said helped or resinated with you. My god that music is good

Listening to this , since it's the last day for the halo 3 severs, the time as come I'll never forget

A moment of silence for this godly game, and in our hearts, it’ll never die. o7
So true🥺
remember my older brother getting the game on launch and him playing it for so long, then he moved on and started his own family by moving far away from us, hearing this makes me tear up thinking about him
No game will ever have the same level of nostalgia
hey keep trying your almost there
How much I miss those times.
One day I came out of the pub and reinstalled Halo 3 in my drunk just to listen to the music in the menu.
I went to the multiplayer menu and looked at the map where you used to be able to see who was online where worldwide (Europe, USA, etc.)
Now the entire world map is dark.

Wish we could go back in time to play this one last time without stress or worries. 🥺 Downloading it today on my pc. Gotta hop on again.
It's not the memories we miss. It's the time period of our lives that we miss.
2010!!!
we seriously took this game for granted as kids it was truly the best time for gamers.
Brings tears to my eyes. Life was much better back then lol. MCC doesn’t hit the same…
I am crying I just hopped on my 360, knowing my friends who I played with are long gone. This was also my first video game, my first Halo game, and my first multiplayer.
Edit: This is where it hits most bois: 3:56
Got this game on Christmas back in ‘07. Seeing it now really brings back a lot of gaming memories 😢
I was 3 in 07🥲
I was only 6 or 7 years old in 2007, I remember when my older brother left for boot camp a few days before Halo 3 released, but then the months went by he came back home I saw he had his Xbox 360 and Halo 3 with him and I saw both my brother and sister start up the game and seeing the Halo 3 menu screen was amazing, they started playing through the campaign together.
All the memories all the hours and playing an all nighter with the boys, there was no better game than halo 3
Not 1, not even close.
Genuinely, thank you to everyone who made my childhood awesome by playing with/against me in this game. These memories will last a lifetime. Halo Infinite multiplayer is fun, but this was Halo at its best.
Amen... it made the few of us who learned how to take trash talk into men...
It was truly a privilege to serve with you all. We went feet first into oblivion. We forged our own paths. Crushed Dynasties. We became legends. Remember we never die. We are MIA.

You and I played Halo Infected and then played a lot of Minecraft when that came out on Console.
We built the "Scarab" on Sandbox in Halo 3's Forge. With a Wraith acting as the main gun. And then made a "Human Scarab" to match it with Human Weapons
Good luck bro.
Yo 2024 anyone?? One of the OG Michigan players here - lanned with Walshy all the time in East Lansing. Miss the good old days, I’ll never forget!!!!
I remember I let this game sit open for a few minutes only to be caught off guard by the music. I was looking at stuff on my phone and started listening and was taken aback by how beautiful it was. There was something so cozy about it that I hadn’t felt that much from other games, and it was a super cool experience. I didn’t grow up with this game, but this title screen makes me feel like I’ve been with it since before I was born, and that we’ve been friends ever since
Halo 1-3 was the best and we will never get those days back
i'm gonna miss you, old chum.
tell my friends that you were amazing.
For all those Spartans who one day connected without knowing that it was going to be the last time and
For all those friendships that were forged in those years and that still exist today.

To Halo 3.
For Halo 3.
I would give anything to go back to those times even for just a moment.
..we all do.. I wish I had parents that loved me as much as they loved you man...
What I would give to relive this experience for the first time isn’t fathomable
We really didn’t know how good we had it
Halo 3 was the first halo game I got when I got it on the 360, ive played it since until I got Halo MCC, i still remember the days when me and my friends would play custom games alot...
There will never be any game closer to my heart than this
Man.... the nostalgia hits hard. I miss these days....

Never Forget
Listened to it while studying. Didn't even notice the hour go by.
You’re a godsend for uploading this.
“We just thought we were having fun. We didn’t know we were making memories.”
Best times of my young life, the lobby, the maps, the weapons, that feeling😭
It's even got the 360 notification sound 😩 I knew the 360 and halo franchise was going to become history, especially how "mind blowing" halo 3 was!! I remember having updates for the game and would come home from school just to hear the menu music 🤤. It's been over 5 years since I last played a halo game...with the new halo coming out, I'm for sure playing it! 🤞

Boys, those were the days. OP, thank you.
The blue background is magical.
Be glad it happened.. lest the world return to ash...
I’ve played this game back in 2013, introduced me to the gaming industry. And I still don’t regret it
I sometimes worry about the day when Microsoft decides to shut down the servers of the MCC.
"Hard to believe it's dead..."
"Were it so easy..."
By far the best game and best menu music ever made in eternity.

It was a moment in time, captured by memories.
@IssacWashington-zc2zm indeed
Man. This brings me back. What a simpler time this was. 4-player splitscreen custom games, pizza, soda, friends. Truly magical nights.
i remember it was late 2007 and there was like 300,000 people online and i was like "holy crap"
I remember being absolutely fascinated when I looked at that world map and seeing all those shiny bright dots for the online players.

Thank you so much for making this video, dude. The main menu of this game is a core memory for me and I'm sure it is for many others.
