It’s amazing how we still have people your age that can still get a glimpse of what we experienced when we were younger. Im 18 soon but I grew up with reach playing forge with my brother and my cousin around the time the game came out. Forget what people say about your age and Fortnite and stuff. You can forever gain nostalgia and memories from a game you only just played, because soon in 20 years time you’ll look back and think man I miss those days. Good on ya man have an awesome day!
ooohhh biy the memories.... my god. i wish i could go back in time to witness the LAST play, online, with online friends, not knowing, it would be the last. so many memories.
“Truly a masterpiece in modern games” I think is how it was described in the special edition cases, and I couldn’t agree more. Even to this day, this game will forever hold a special place in my heart. ☺️❤️🖤💚
The year was 2004, I was in 4th grade 10 years old. My grandparents were still alive, my parents were still married, me and my brother were still best friends. World of Warcraft was new, Star Wars Galaxies was new, Battlefield 1942 was still fresh, Medal of Honor had the world captivated still. Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source had just been released. We had Dexters Lab and Edd Ed and Eddie on TV. Movie channels had Robocop and Terminator on replay. School was a struggle and effected my behavior so greatly, I counted the hrs until I could come home and play games. Halo 2 was on the horizon. The day finally came and everything changed from that point forward. I have so many great memories associated with Halo 2 I can literally shed tears to every single piece of music from this series from Combat Evolved to Halo Reach. I have an amazing memory associated with every track. If God gave me the chance to go back and relive those memories in real time I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment.
No lie......this game was my first major games series and this game ultimately made me the gamer that u am today I mean yeah I grew up on a 64 but this game truly changed my gaming perspective and showed me that games are pieces of art with music graphics and a amazing story....
That moment, in your buddy's basement with your mates, when it's 3am and you're all ready to crash, but you're still getting ready for bed or w/e and this shits on in the background.
My Uncle first introduced me to Halo when I was about 5 or 6. We would play campaign and with his online friends a lot. First game was Halo 2 before Halo 3 came out. I loved it. I have played every Halo game with him up until the games after Halo 4. The last words my brother and I heard from him are “I won’t see you guys for a really long time” I haven’t seen him in over 6 years... I don’t even know what he is doing right now but I believe he might be homeless or in prison... pretty rough stuff. I miss you Will, I hope you are coping well and I wish we could play Halo campaign again, even though you probably long outgrew it. I’m still stuck wishing I could game all day again.
I miss spending all night playing Halo 3 and Reach waiting for a custom games invite to play that for the remainder of the night. I was too young to experience Halo 2 in its prime beside playing campaign and split screen multiplayer, but I'm glad MCC gave me a taste of it. Halo is a game I always go back to and it helps me get out of any negative funk I end up in... I thought I was just gonna listen to this to help sleep, but I ended up writing this long ass comment lmao.
Original Halo 2. PC. 2005-2018. I get an xbox 1s finally in 2018 for my birthday . Then Cheif collection for PC comes out.. ..it has been reborn. Mashed up childhood memories
I remember I got this a few years after it released. I was a little late on the series, but I started playing Halo CE on the original Xbox that my dad bought my brother and I for Christmas. I remember on Christmas eve, me, my brother and my mom came home from the store (we were getting a fun dinner) and when we got home, we heard something playing in the living room, on surround sound. Lmao, my dad said "Hold on, don't come in yet!" And I wondered what he was hiding. My dad told us on Christmas morning, (after we opened our gifts) that he couldn't stop playing Halo CE because it was the best FPS he ever played, and got cought up in it way longer than he thought he would. That's how he almost spoiled it lol. Too funny! It was such a good time. Christmas morning couldn't get any better! I discovered a game that I absolutely fell in love with, in only a day. Played it splitscreen with my dad and brother all the time. Halo 2 was given to me on my birthday later that year. I played through the campaign with them on that game as well. Also, me and my best friend Andy played the campaign on Halo 2 Legendary all night. We got stuck on the boss at the end. For like 2 hours! Then we were like "Ugghh, let's just punch him in the face and go to bed. Don't care if we die anymore." We messed around with that mission, seeing how long we could avoid him, T-bag next to him and just goof off. xD lol we'll never forget how much we enjoyed the story, gameplay and the all night snacking. Good times!
Thank you for doing this, legend. There’s a fight now in the last days that needs to be finished, this is my pump up music. So many countless nights playing and trying to level up in matchmaking. I remember your rank determined major respect.
I got this game way back in elementary school for my birthday the year it was released and it quickly made me a fan for life. I had played the first one when I first got it along with my own Xbox, and it alone made a serious impression on me. But this game, made me Love the series, I too wish I could go back and played it for my birthday for the first time again. I may have my personal favorite halo but halo 2 holds a special place in my heart. The true Beginnings of my own great journey...
I came back here after playing Halo infinite takes me way back I remember getting this game a week early our neighbor worked for Best buy We stayed up countless nights playing this game with friends and family split screen land parties ugh wish I could go back to this Time
The fact that this is free to listen to and relax is so important and means alot thank you for getting this on here and thanks 343 for the beautiful gift. Wish there was a 10 hour one 😪💙💚

"Nurse, if you don't mind, can you please play this song while I am stuck to this bed?" *smiles* "Of course, sir." "Thank you." *nurse turns around to walk out of the room but is stopped* "wait-" *she turns back to him* "If you would, im feeling very tried and I.... I would like to see the sunset again." *nurses thinks for a second and then lowers her tone* "Yes, of course, sir." *she tools his bed to the side of the window where he can get a 4th floor, 26th room, northwest side view of the sunset* *he slowly turns to his left, and looks at the sunset* "Will that be all sir?" "Yes, that will. You have been a fine nurse and a wonderful young woman. Go and see what else is out there, so that you can see this type of sunset, just one more time. For me, please?" *she swallows, as she starts to tear up* "Yes sir, I understand." *he smiles* "Go on now, no need to see a whiney old bag like me anymore!" *she chuckles with him briefly before wiping away her tears* "Goodbye, sir." "Goodbye, Olivia. One final thing, tell my family, especially my younger ones, to go and live as I did, so they can look on, look at the sunset just one more time, and see me?" "Yes sir, of the sir. I am honored to" "Bless your heart, Olivia. And thank you" *she slowly and respectfully bows* *she turns around and quietly and peacefully walks out of the room and shuts the door right before turning on his requested song on the TV.* *this song plays* *he turns to his left and see the once in a lifetime spring sunset* *he breathes a long sigh and slowly smiles. As his mind drifts away, and he slowly rests his head back, and ever so slowly, closes his eyes; one final time. As he had just looked at that ever so beautiful late spring sunset, one. Last. Time.* Now THAT is how I wanna go.
Did you ever just sift through the menus as a kid after saving your campaign progress and quitting for the night? I can remember going back to the main menu and checking out all the settings and multiplayer options (I had no Xbox Live in the halo 2 days) and listening to the soundtrack play in the background. It was really soothing.
19:37 [BRIDGE] This still gives me chills as it did on the countless nights listening to it while I’d be waiting for match making or getting into a Gamebattles match waiting in the lobby. Ahhh nostalgia. The best era of gaming is done.
Almost 15 years ago today, the servers shut down forever. We were left at this screen with this haunting reminder of the community that once was lively, and was now forced to move on.
Halo 2 had the most pleasant and awe-inspiring menu music for an 8 yr old in 2004 to experience. Made imagining what halo 3 would've been like (storywise) feel so exciting.
I’m 21 so little young for this era of when it came out but at age 8 I got my first Xbox ( in England where I’m from) from a thrift shop the OG Xbox for 7£! Cheap as chips the game came with it and ever since I loved the music and nostalgia it brings
You know, I never knew the first part of "Never Forget" was in Halo 2. I always thought it was Halo 3 only (and with the second part with the choir). Very cool. Anyways, love this and the fans. Thanks for making this. I'll have to plug in the OG Xbox sometime and run through some levels when the kids are in bed and the wife is watching TV.
Menus used to be simpler. It used to be things like this - a camera panning and rotating around some miniature with epic music in the background. If this was a modern game, the screen would be cluttered with advertisements for the in-game store. This is art.
Everyone always seems to hate on halo 2. But I always loved it. It was my first ever online game. I made lifelong friends there at 10yrs old. Salute to the best trilogy I've ever played and probably ever will play

Halo 2 online pregame lobby waiting for that timer to beep down while chatting with buddies from all over the world waiting for that one last Big team battle match of the night, yelling at mom "One more GAME"!! GOOD TIMES NEVER DIE SPARTANS NEVER DIE "OLY OLY OXENFREE"
We'll be laying upon our death beds, family may or may not surround us, our minds ash. Amist the static we'll hear a choir, a violin, and then a piano. Together alongside chief we'll make a girl a promise we know we cant keep then, together, we'll finish this fight.

God bless you and thank you for your service ;-;7 I feel that tho, so many good times with Halo and other video games, it brings back warm and happy memories looking back upon it
@@halohunter5283 thank you for your support sir and I love that video games just unite people all over the world. I hope you stay safe and thanks for the good trip down memory lane!🇺🇸🦅🤙
I am Only 11 but I remember playing halo combat evolved 2 3 and 5 but mainly 2 at 6 years old man how the game made me feel
This was my first video game ever. It really made me who I am today. This game will live in my heart forever.
“Truly a masterpiece in modern games” I think is how it was described in the special edition cases, and I couldn’t agree more. Even to this day, this game will forever hold a special place in my heart. ☺️❤️🖤💚
Remember waiting in line for this game on midnight when I was 12. Everyone was happy back then
I’ve never played Halo 2 but I can feel the nostalgia from all these other comments
The next halo game better have a menu like this. This is simply perfection I don't understand why we don't have a menu like this.
My Uncle first introduced me to Halo when I was about 5 or 6. We would play campaign and with his online friends a lot. First game was Halo 2 before Halo 3 came out. I loved it. I have played every Halo game with him up until the games after Halo 4.
The last words my brother and I heard from him are “I won’t see you guys for a really long time”
I haven’t seen him in over 6 years...
Lmao I’m glad you did, but hopefully you got some sleep afterwards 🤣
It's funny I played Halo 2 in its prime but was quite content as a youngin just playing splitscreen multi-player and campaign lol
@Random Hip Hop that’s all I had man and I was completely content
Ah I still have my halo 2 disc so I just put this into my Xbox and let it play for a while. While remembering all the memories. What good times.
Halo 2 was the first video game I ever played and I wouldn't have it any other way.
If I had only one wish, I would like to be 8 years old again so I could enjoy this with my brother and my father... I miss them...
Love you bro God bless
Original Halo 2. PC. 2005-2018. I get an xbox 1s finally in 2018 for my birthday . Then Cheif collection for PC comes out.. ..it has been reborn. Mashed up childhood memories
I love that!
Super nostalgia 😭good old days of halo gold age of gaming and halo playing split screen multiplayer good times 😩😢❤️
Listening to this and reminiscing of simpler times and reflecting on life ...
THE best video game soundtrack single-handedly. Not just for Halo, but for ALL video games.
This music gives me flashbacks about sleepovers where parents aren‘t at home…
You’re welcome and you should thank Bungie and the project cartographer team :)
@@halohunter5283 Yes 💪👨🚀
You can right click and loop it just right click in the video player where you see the video or in this case the awesome halo 2 classic main menu screen you're welcome enjoy to your heart's content!
"Nurse, if you don't mind, can you please play this song while I am stuck to this bed?"
*smiles* "Of course, sir."
"Thank you."
*nurse turns around to walk out of the room but is stopped*
"wait-"
*she turns back to him*
"If you would, im feeling very tried and I.... I would like to see the sunset again."
*nurses thinks for a second and then lowers her tone*
"Yes, of course, sir."
*she tools his bed to the side of the window where he can get a 4th floor, 26th room, northwest side view of the sunset*
*he slowly turns to his left, and looks at the sunset*
"Will that be all sir?"
"Yes, that will. You have been a fine nurse and a wonderful young woman. Go and see what else is out there, so that you can see this type of sunset, just one more time. For me, please?"
*she swallows, as she starts to tear up*
"Yes sir, I understand."
*he smiles*
"Go on now, no need to see a whiney old bag like me anymore!"
*she chuckles with him briefly before wiping away her tears*
"Goodbye, sir."
"Goodbye, Olivia. One final thing, tell my family, especially my younger ones, to go and live as I did, so they can look on, look at the sunset just one more time, and see me?"
"Yes sir, of the sir. I am honored to"
"Bless your heart, Olivia. And thank you"
*she slowly and respectfully bows*
*she turns around and quietly and peacefully walks out of the room and shuts the door right before turning on his requested song on the TV.*
*this song plays*
*he turns to his left and see the once in a lifetime spring sunset*
*he breathes a long sigh and slowly smiles. As his mind drifts away, and he slowly rests his head back, and ever so slowly, closes his eyes; one final time. As he had just looked at that ever so beautiful late spring sunset, one. Last. Time.*
Now THAT is how I wanna go.
That was beautiful 🥺
@@halohunter5283 thanks man! Wrote it all in one take I'm pretty happy with myself
This gave me chills to the point I feel I wanna cry.
Can’t sleep so I come to this video and it reminds me of falling asleep at the weekend when I was 13.
Oh the nostalgia me and my brother would always play this game when we were kids and with our friends to of course oh fun memories of being a kid😀.
If only we could turn back the clocks just for a day!!
@@halohunter5283 my friend yes if only we could but I do watch people play the three Halo games and reach on RUclips just for fun😀.
Heck yeah same here!
@@halohunter5283 my friend awesome😀.
My favorite gaming memory ever is playing H2 with my brothers a 11 at night and just having a good time
This music still give me chills. I miss the Bungie days...
I did! I always remember trying to find some sort of AI spawner but sadly there never was a setting for that
This is still the greatest ost in existence
Haven’t played this in 6 years... and got to play it again with one of my favorite teachers... But since I graduated I’ll miss it...
What an mad lad there is no bloody ads.
No need 😎 if I ever did include them, it would be at the beginning and at the last possible second

This still gives me chills as it did on the countless nights listening to it while I’d be waiting for match making or getting into a Gamebattles match waiting in the lobby. Ahhh nostalgia. The best era of gaming is done.
;)
I get choked up whenever I hear the menu music. The nostalgia is overwhelming. Just hearing the choir right away, enter the waterworks.
Almost 15 years ago today, the servers shut down forever. We were left at this screen with this haunting reminder of the community that once was lively, and was now forced to move on.
I love that part so much 10:40… miss those old good days😔
Halo 2 had the most pleasant and awe-inspiring menu music for an 8 yr old in 2004 to experience. Made imagining what halo 3 would've been like (storywise) feel so exciting.
I've watched this atleast 30 times in this past week
Glad to hear it!
I’m 21 so little young for this era of when it came out but at age 8 I got my first Xbox ( in England where I’m from) from a thrift shop the OG Xbox for 7£! Cheap as chips the game came with it and ever since I loved the music and nostalgia it brings
Is it bad that right now in my right ear, with no earbud in, I can hear the sound effects of navigating the menu of this game???
Nope! You’re just reliving the sweet nostalgic memories :D
My head forcibly makes me hear every old sound from this iconic menu. I can almost see the actual game playing too.
I just let this play as I do homework
Everyone always seems to hate on halo 2. But I always loved it. It was my first ever online game. I made lifelong friends there at 10yrs old. Salute to the best trilogy I've ever played and probably ever will play
one of the menus of all time
Beautiful game, I love your soundtrack halo 2 is my favorite, it brings me a lot of nostalgia when I was little it was the first video game I completed.
RUclips recommended one of the best core memory golden nuggets I could ask for In my time of need.
i wish i played halo growing up . . .
i didn't get the chance to make memories or have fun with friends and now i've grown very anti-social
i love halo, wish my past days were spent playing it
people are getting nostalgic and i wish i could relate to that, but i guess i'm not lucky enough
but at least i am alive and can enjoy this awesome music right now
it's not all bad
Man I’m really sorry to hear that :( but nows your chance to change that! After listening to this awesome music, go hop on a game and make some new memorable experiences!
@@halohunter5283 haha, thanks, no need to to be sorry, it's just a game, after all
and i would, but i am very busy nowadays so i don't think i'll be able to play any games
also none of my irl friends know about halo lol
Damn. None of my friends really play Halo, I play it because nostalgia. I loved the few chances I got to play this game as a kid. I still remember my first kill I ever got on Online Multiplayer.
“Sir, I need a weapon.” - a brick who flew pretty good
I used to play this game so much when i was younger but now i cant play this game anymore because my parents dont let me download MCC :(, im getting so much nostalgia from listening to this, im crying because i loved this game so much
Aweee I’m glad to hear it! Halo 2 Project Cartographer is free to download on the internet, so if it’s a money problem, then it shouldn’t be an issue!
@@halohunter5283 my parents dont let me download games :((, thats why im so sad
I mean there’s always ways around it but don’t disrespect your parents wishes lol, just ask them at some point, there’s plenty of videos out there showing how to play Halo Project Cartographer for free(it’s actually free and virus free)
@@halohunter5283 They dont let me download games whether its free or not....
I know but have them do it for you
Ah I remember as a kid, In my uncles room waiting on this menu while my cousins where setting up the lan in the other 2 rooms. The menu theme blasting away because my uncle loved his surround sound speakers.
Halo will not be forgetton to be best game ever lived
Brings back good memories 😭
Choir button - [0:10]
Amazing!
Halo 2 online pregame lobby waiting for that timer to beep down while chatting with buddies from all over the world waiting for that one last Big team battle match of the night, yelling at mom "One more GAME"!!
GOOD TIMES NEVER DIE
SPARTANS NEVER DIE
"OLY OLY OXENFREE"
memories :(
We'll be laying upon our death beds, family may or may not surround us, our minds ash. Amist the static we'll hear a choir, a violin, and then a piano. Together alongside chief we'll make a girl a promise we know we cant keep then, together, we'll finish this fight.
Amen 🙏
🥲 the memories coming home after school and hopping on with your friends. the good days when life was simple
Couldn't afford internet when I was a kid but that never stopped me from endlessly playing campaign and 1v1s with my brother
This reminds me of the days i’d fall asleep with my Xbox on after a long LAN
More than a game...... If we could go back to simpler times....
i love the music of the menu
My favorite game of all time I love it so much ahhh the nostalgia😭🤌🙌
thanks for reminding me of my childhood
I C O N I C
2:30-3:00 was the best part
Thank you so much for making this!
Greatest game of all time. God, I miss being a kid.
