I just got this roomba model, and I love it. It's a very good price and quality in cleaning is great, more expensive models have some extra perks but I honestly don't mind moving a few rugs for floor mop. On the other hand fingers crossed I don't have cat litter accident! Very clever place for home base, I wish I thought of that 😊 and a little tip for placing the mop, the blue plastic square part on the mop goes into a blue pocket so its more secure 😊
Awesome review. Two immediate {maybe absent-minded} questions .. > Does it include a HEPA filter and can it be replaced. > Do you HAVE to use the mop feature, or will it work the best as just a vacuum.
Thank you! I just bought the i5 and although I have The app on my phone and even downloaded the instructions and read everything I still had questions. You answered everything. You have saved me a bunch of research time.
I wish we had the same experience. The first one they sent wouldn't pair with my network and I had to return it. The second tangled with whatever cords it came across and the mop feature didn't work at all. It just stopped functioning when I snapped it in. I sadly returned the second one and hope I can find an upgraded experience somewhere. I've heard the Chinese models are far superior to iRobot now.
I do have an i5 however I also have some questions in doing the set up for the mopping feature. I am wondering, do I leave the linen bag that’s inside to collect the vacuum debris do I leave that in there while I’m in the mopping mode and also on the black bin I’m assuming you’re supposed to fill when you mop it says something about removing the filter says cannot get wet so I don’t know how to do that. I don’t wanna find it so hard that I break it to remove it so can you tell me a simpler way to achieve these things and if I’m in the ballpark of getting it done. I’ve owned my I five for probably two or three months now and have not been able to figure out the mopping feature any help will be a blessing. Thankyou Deb N
Just got one of these & have been thinking like it all day 😅 Amazing piece of tech. Re the rug issue when mopping - I have one large area rug in a high traffic area I’d like to mop regularly, and I’m guessing one of the virtual walls (which can project in a circle) might be able to keep it off most of my rug. So I’ll be getting one of those to test it out.
Do you leave your i5 on the main floor of your house, or do you take it to other floors to have it clean there too? How easy would it be to have it clean the main floor one day, then move it to a lower level to clean a different floor the next day?
Hi i found your i5 video helpful. Unfortunately i have an immovable area rug in my living area. Id love to get the floor of the combo rooms kitchen dining and partial living room mopped but the rug prevents it. Otherwise i do like this new bday gift!
The mapping feature does not allow the placement of a doorway. Only a wall. I have rooms I do not want it to go. My mobile home has an addition with a ramp and it can go over the edge and then gets stuck. I don't want it in my bathroom and if I forget to close the door when it vacuums it will actually close the door and gets stuck there as well.
How is it with stairs? Can you map both levels at initial setup? I'm buying one for the family and I have the cheaper model in my single-story home and like you said that one just seems to run around the room without much thought, worried if this model is able to stop itself from falling downstairs.
My house has 2 floors. How can I do to make it work? Should I move the base from bottom to top floor? Or leave on the bottom floor and make it do a random clean on the top? Anyone, experiences with pets? I have a dog, and some hair on the house.
Got this model to replace the super old Roomba 400 and I'm not impressed. Expected tit to be way more reliable and smart. 1) Stores one map only. If you move it between floors or areas then only one can be mapped, the other one has to rely on "clean everywhere". 2) Map is not editable. It's an issue if a whole floor can't be mapped in one run when you have a door that blocks the corridor when open. 3) Mop is a joke. It's just a wetted tiny rug that has no means of self cleaning. Once it gets dirty it stays so until you manually clean it. 4) Both the robot and an app is slow to react to commands. An "end of cycle" chime occasionally hanging mid-tune is a cherry on top. 5) Not too reliable. Two times it just had an error in a middle of cycle and stopped in random location. 6) Pressing the buttons does not guarantee that the robot will work. I had it fail to start couple of times, playing the tune, then it takes couple of second to start (see #4). But sometimes it just don't start at all. Other than that it is OK, it does clean OK, can orient itself and return to base, will automatically vacuum whole floor with couple of recharges in between, one just need to remember it's shortcomings .
Never buy this iRobot products. It is made by a scam company. I bought brand new from an eBay seller. It is still under warranty and it broke down. The support person told me because I didn't purchase it from an authorized seller. So there is no warranty. They told me I have to pay for the repair even though it is still under warranty. Avoid this scam company.

Was it worth the purchase?
How was it

I too have horrible experience

Does the vacuum still auto empty if the mop bin is on? Also does the mopping results look like someone hand moped with a hand held one?

it’s not that hard but if you do leave the base in the open so it can be easily moved
Do you have to buy the mopping pad separately

Just a tip, you can actually get them at $260 CAD when it’s an open box.

They are all able to stop in front of the stairs. I have 2 of them.
I feel like I`ve travelled back in time since 2010 :)
yes the i5 havent try the mop yet waiting for wife to come back from vacations 😀
Wat if I have a carpet that I can not easily move?

You need to move the unit, yes. I have 3 floors. Ideally, if you have a large house, you want 2 or 3.
Love your review 😊thanks!
Hi Paul. I just bought an i5 and I am very frustared !! The app does not work on my phone. What can I do ? Heeeeelp please !!
how well does the mop work
Moping is horrible. Doesn’t clean at all
Doesn’t work up to the mark
More like licking the floor than actual mopping. This attachment makes no sense, it's basically a constantly wetted pad, no rinsing, no washing.
My i5 is not self emptying. Do you have a solution
did you get a self emptying one or the non self emptying
@garyuppledycktyke9073 I have self emptying station. It has been self emptying soon after the cleaning. But after a month it is not doing that
@@mrmrsperfectfamily7589if the bag is not installed then it won’t if you have the mop pad on in won’t self empty
@@mrmrsperfectfamily7589is the bag full

U bought it from eBay bro…
That’s literally standard across the board. How do they know the eBay guy didn’t steal it?
-_-
That’s on you 🤡
