This song, I hear it and I remember my 1st love. I was 18, 1994 and I had this song on repeat. I bought the cd only for this song but ended up falling in love with Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval. Her voice just grabbed me all the time and I would lay in my bed thinking of him. Beautiful song
Love Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval's voice. She rates up there with some of the other outstanding female vocalists of the last few decades. I'm thinking Cocteau Twins, Cowboy Junkies, The Sundays, Siouxie and the Banshees. Different genres, but all beautiful and unique voices. Have a listen if you haven't already.

Beaux Cottle why don't you to take a chance and talk to each other. I am talking to a Brazilian girl, I barely speak Portuguese and she is amazing. Take a chance go for it, you might end up with like me... Happy
February or March of 94, I'm in early 20s. Crappy apartment that barely had heat, cuddled up under the covers with a dark haired girl. From the street light outside my window, we laid there listening to this album and watched the snow come down....this song puts me back there instantly.
Well, we had a lot of fun leading up to the part where we were worn out and just chilling. But, if you can imagine a candle, a bottle of cheap wine and this album playing while being all balled up under the covers....snowed like crazy that night...at the time, you do not realize it was magical until a song like this transports you back to that very moment. Life was simple and for a brief time in our lives, we were the center of each others universe...makes this song all the more bitter sweet.
We danced. We cried. We slept. We laughed. We cooked. We smoked. We drank. We found this song together. We got angry. We got happy. We hurt each other. We left.
This song makes me want to cry. It reminds me of all of my failed attempts at love and healthy relationships. I was too busy trying to fade into someone instead of just being with someone.
+Emmy Jeffery Wise and beautiful words. Love is like a fragile young plant. Just be with someone and enjoy the ride, don't force anything. Unconditional love is beautiful.
My Mum died on a Saturday afternoon, I played this later with my best friend. The emotions are so POWERFUL, I can almost feel her. I love you Mummy, xxxooo
Wow, your comment brought tears to my eyes. I lost my dad on New Year's Eve 1982, 6 days before my 18th birthday and was blindsided. I still have my mom, whom I love dearly, she's in her 70's now but due to my husband being ill I never have a chance to go visit. I HAVE TO MAKE THAT TIME! I'm so sorry for your loss. ❤
So many days in high school I would just leave mid day and go walking into the hills that were across the street. My Ipod was full of Indie music and music like this, the weather was perfect the scenery was perfect, there were no people around, the music was perfect, I had some of the best times of my life in those hills to some great music. I also was able to live in the present moment for the first time, its hard to live in the present when surrounded by minds all times of the day but when you find your self alone its possible to just drop the mind and enjoy life. I got another suggestion, Google Truth Contest, and that will help you get into the present moment, and start opening up to life. Life is short, everyone dies but not everyone really lives.
great 90s vibe. I'd love to go back to Seattle during 1992-1996. some of the best times of my life, many great experiences. kids now have no idea what it was like to be a teenager in the 90s. miss it tremendously.
Eh, High Definition and its surrounding technology just hadn't come into the world just yet, if it had, I'm sure Mazzy would be shooting zombies, while some dude looked on with lusty eyes or something.
I feel that this is one of those songs if you randomly hear it, you never forget that moment in your life. Coming back from a bar with a friend, driving near the coast on a warm night in Orange County. The friend's crazy but kind roommate at the time made me a mix CD, and this song, that drive, the beautiful scenery; a mind of chaos gave way to contentment in that instant. Ten year's later, this is still the most beautiful song in the world to me.
+Lee Dalloway that coast drive in OC from near Huntington Beach to past Laguna Beach is one of the most beautiful drives ever. After MCA died, the radio station was playing Beastie Boys and I was cranking it while driving that stretch and I'll never be able to forget that drive either. That was a day time drive. I'm sure this song works better at night.
+Lee Dalloway i, too remember the first time I heard this song. I was a sophomore in college, and it has stayed with me since. so haunting and melancholic, but full of obsession and love. wow.
my mom always loved this song, it brings back such good memories, being in the backseat on a winter day while my dads smoking a cig in the passenger seat. makes me wanna cry
Sadly, I think you are correct. Damn it! I mean that too! This song could time travel to us today and mean something to us right? It's timeless. At least to us who love it.
Listen to nothing's gonna hurt you by cigarettes after sex. there are plenty of artists who make music like her, they just don't ever get big because people don't appreciate true music.
Anybody else remember where you were and what you were doing the first time you heard this song??? I had just started high school in 94' and I went to my cousins house to tell him how nervous I was to be a freshman but before I even said anything I stood there quietly listening to this song as it played. I asked him who that was singing and he said "Mazzy Star" lol That's when I fell in love with this song and here I am 21 years later listening to this song wishing I was 14 again
I wanna hold the hand inside you I wanna take the breath that's true I look to you and I see nothing I look to you to see the truth You live your life, you go in shadow You'll come upon and you'll go black Some kind of night into your darkness Close your eyes with what's not there Fade into you Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it's strange you never knew The strange light comes on slowly A stranger's heart is out of home You put your hands into your head And your smiles cover your heart
I was listening to this song back in the 90's and some stupid DJ on KROQ in L.A. said boring after playing the song. I loved the Dreamy quality it has, especially that night leaving the desolate Valley and going back to Hollywood. Can't believe I remember it 20 some years later.
I heard a DJ on 98.7 said that this song makes him want to fall asleep after they played it. A lot of people don't understand the effect this song has, which sucks for them.
any dj that would say this song is boring or make them feel sleepy is the type of person that hates, cause i bet as this song plays everyone in the room gets quiet as they're think of something , while the annoying dj wants to bash and acts like he or she dont feel a certain way! like if the dj is too cool! foh! Crank this song up in your ride as loud as you can rolling in the desert in the middle of know where it doesnt matter if your by your self or with your chik ! feel this classic! put it on repeat! p.s. if your with your chik ?! pull over off the road and park by the rocks!
Ethel Clakley , i agree i can remember a green tshirt and blue jeans my girlfriend wore but mostly it's a feeling or a vibe, a split second where i feel like i was there in my old car driving her over the bridge by my parents house..hopeful and energetic and young... How about you what do you remember?
You know this has to be a really good song when all the recent comments are hours apart and the ones after that or days and weeks for a song that's at least 20 years old
Her natural shyness and awkwardness makes her natural beauty even more radiant. I rarely see a women singer and think to myself.. wow, she is gorgeous! Too many women throw on tons of makeup or get surgery to fix something that they see as an imperfection... While this girl should have influenced millions to be like her and to have her modesty... we instead ran into Brittney Spears and other garbage! Oh, how I miss you 90s! Music these days has nothing tied to it... no feelings at all!
This song reminds me of waiting for my friend getting ready to go out with gel on his head while i'm sitting in the couch reading the latest Details Magazine and checking out the newest fashion of that time and seeing this video on MTV on Friday night, I don't know why I always think of that moment every time I hear this song. Memories(Sigh)!
Sonnyj: I love what you wrote. My yoga instructor turned me on to this, so for me it holds a similar sense of weekly routine comingled, in my case, with the (grapefruit) scent-memory of my yoga mat spritz. Needless to say, I love it. xxoo
listening to this song, tears become hapiness. we would like to be alone, to find ourselves again. we want to get hurt to be healed of the beauty of this world. we want to feel disgusted to feel the sweet taste of all those ordinary things around. be broken down to be uplifted by our best friends. we have to feel really really bad to appreciate how unique we are. we have to hit the bottom to raise and become aMAZZYing STARs again! you can not be someone else, but you can be yourself!
I just love how you exceptionally wrote who we are and in the real life How we choose to became with balance of being unbalanced to restart reload me. Mazzy Star..one of the top 20 personal albums I still bump. The whole album is great.. I'm 36 yrs old ( in which I don't even look it)( because of too much drug experimentation then)which makes me also a generation X'r..the music now has definitely evolved and yes there's still good music today ..but..90's was an unforgettable time for me ..in my opinion ..artists then outshine artists today because they are ahead of time still..the only difference is the equipment. It was analog then & digital now.. Music was really about expression from within the soul and taking that melody to a higher plain. You couldn't do that without lots of love & laughter. And knowing what suffering really is. Not being afraid to cry. And truly knowing how to express all of that into words..then putting it to perfect rhythm.... Sometimes I laugh at today's music because it doesn't contain those ingredients. Artists today really need to re-evaluate themselves from the inside of things. Not the out.
Todays bands have lost the "Human Factor". I from the 70's era. What you heard from the bands back then is what they put out there. No high tech equipment, no fixing a part here or a part there. A great deal of real talent came out of that era and some incredible songwriters. It was remarkable time in music.
I came of age in the 90's too (don't really look it either for similar reasons maybe, man those were fun times). You articulated many things that a lot of us feel about then and now concerning music and the value of the art(ist) within the industry. I have believed American Idol and those other competition shows really deprioritized and devalued the humanity of personal expression and sincerity. Watered everything completely down. Do you have Mazzy's album after this one - Among My Swan ('96 or '97?)? To me, that is one of the best albums of the 90's, every song is brilliant in so many ways (no hits, just sublime brilliance). Fade Into You... was really the saving grace of the So Tonight...album to me. If you love them and don't have it, Among My Swan is truly a full album masterpiece. Peace.
jeff oliva So much of an artist's creative control has been stripped away from them, unless you are a musical icon whose been around for 30 or 40+ years. Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, Dylan, Jackson Browne, to name a few. They are masters of their craft and set the bar extremely high for those who follow. But as the decades rolled by, the record labels and Television realized what a cash cow they had on their hands. So enters the heavy handed production squad. It's not about music to the money mongers. They have taken beautiful, personal and profound music that many find to be more than simple music and turned it into what THEY think they can make a buck off of. I don't watch any singing talent shows on TV. There have been a few artists who have held on to their creativity. Mazzy is one of them. She has heart and emotion. You can easily tell who has created thoughtful songs which shows the depth of the artists and you can tell who has a strong desire to push their way into the commercial lime light, with a lot of technical help, record labels and PR. God help them when they go on tour. There isn't much to hide behind up on that stage. I believe the test of talent is in the live performance. We expect them to actually use instruments skillfully along with great vocals, a good performance and we like to be moved by what we hear. That's what we used to see back in the day. My God, I saw so MANY great bands. All of which you probably know. Joe Walsh and the James Gang was the BEST, Dave Mason, Neil Young, The Kinks, Robin Trower, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger. and the list goes on and on. Pure talent. We will never see another time like it again. But hopefully the newer artist will have the hearts to make the music for the sake of the music. I like to say the 90's made of for the 80's and the 70's and 60's made up for the 50's. Simply my personal taste. The 90's brought music back to life after the 80's. But now the music needs a huge breath of fresh air. The sooner the better. Sorry about the lengthy reply. Music maintains my sanity in this harsh world and helps to heal the soul. Peace.
Music is and always will be so subjective. It's a very personal choice we make in a very public medium. There are many genre's and I try to keep my mind open to all that I hear. But there are many of us who wear our hearts on our sleeves and we understand and appreciate the lyrics that have something to say. A song that reaches out and moves you. You just know when a songwriter is genuine and writing from the heart. It can so very easily reach in and grab hold of your emotions, it can make you cry, It can be your place of peace and it can pull you through some of the darkest of your days. I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly. He was only 39 yrs old and I swear to you, the music was my place away from the unbearable pain of grief. It was my place of peace, even if it was for a short time. It allowed me to get away from myself and my thoughts. I truly didn't think I would survive the loss of my best friend and husband. I loved and respected this good man. I thought he took my heart and my life with him when he passed. It took a very long time and many hours of music, which became my own therapy, before I could even take a step forward. So music is more than entertainment to me. It enabled me to get away from myself and I discovered, you can't go around the pain. You can't go over it or under it. You have to go straight through it and music gave me the peaceful moments I needed while walking that painful road. It's a gift we have been given and I appreciate those who have shared it with us. As corny as this sounds, I truly feel it's one of the most important things we have in our lives.
Ahh Mazzy! I remember being 13 when this album dropped in 93 and watching the music video for this song at like 3:30-4 in the morning on MTV when everybody was passed out from the party. Great song from a great period in time, I miss those days!
in 1996 my first love broke my heart and this song always reminds of that...after 21yrs I don't even remember that girl but I continue to love this song =)
This song helps me think of those innocent times with my wife, before we went into the world and saw what changed us. It makes my heart skip a beat while blinking... like I've been consumed by the emotion caused by the long slurs of the guitar and her sultry voice. I love you still Chelsey, 13 years and counting.
many people haven't heard of them; but this is one of those songs that a lot of people seem to have a memory involving. I can remember first hearing it on the radio on a long night drive, around 2-3 am, when I was 16-17
The reality is, we can change. We can change ourselves. We can change our minds. We can change our hearts. And therefore the universe changes. Richard Gere (1949 - present)
I cried alone in my cold dark room when it came on. It was all about the loss of my good friend who succumbed to breast cancer in ‘92. Thankfully, that song helped me cope through an ordeal of grief and despair. Thanx, Guys!
I used to cry to this really hard when I was going through the end of a toxic relationship. I didn’t want to be alive. Well, put in more accurate words, I wanted the pain to end
I believe that 90% of humanity has felt that exact same way. What people don't realize at that point, while the pain is still so raw is that the breakup, getting away from that toxic relationship is the best thing that could happen to them. I'm assuming that you already know that by now....but many reading your comment do not. At least not yet. Relationships end because they weren't meant to be. I do hope that you are happy now in whichever direction your life has taken you. One thing I know for certain is no matter what your life has to be more positive, better, more peaceful and open to true happiness than it had been before.
This song makes me miss the 90's, big time! It was a decade of The New Hippies, African American Pride, flannel, and a new genre of rock music. There was so much hope and possibility of a better world... that all came crashing down in the year 2000!
Skye ID You are so right about that. 9/11 pretty much destroyed all of that hope. I really miss the 90s, life and the world seemed so much simpler back then.
its not that it's connected to a certain time in our history but a state of being i think we all long and miss the purity and happiness and love more than the decade or time this song is associated with. Like falling in love for the first time... you remember the feeling and the moment like it's yesterday.
Mazzy Star’s songs are like a sanctuary where we remember 90’s. Childhood, teenage years , that now we have to grieve for. Life was better when we discovered it and future seems to be a swindle Memories rise up from our souls, brought by melody like leaves in autumn wind.
Remember me so much of my ex girlfriend that had such a dark soul but was such a beautiful person and I could see the light inside her.. I tried everything to help her and show her hope and the light till I gave everything I had, every single piece of energy I had into her till I fell into that melancolic but beautiful darkness. When I couldnt take it anymore because my days were always grey even when the sun was out and I felt cold even when the air was sweet and hot, I told her I would go away and thats when she took 35 extra strong sleeping pills... They had to revive her three times, doctors says its a miracle she survived trough that with no afteraffect after 1 week in coma, if I wouldnt have called back she wouldve certainly died... I prayed so much, I think my and her angels saved her because I wouldnt have survived this experience neither. I still miss her after 3 years. My heart is still faded and Im tore apart between the light and the dark.
2005, i'm 15 On my first ever date to the school dance with the super cute but shy girl on my bus. It's both of our first date but we had been talking for the whole school year up til this point in March. We had had a few slow dances and were both to shy to even try anything....but this song man. This was our third dance.....and when the chorus hit everything in me screamed go for it and I leaned in and felt her lips against mine....and her arms tighten as she pulled me in. She tasted like vanilla, and our lips broke after the chorus and we just stared at each other, amazed someone else liked them enough to want to do that before embracing tight. That was 14 years ago, we're both with other people as happens she's married, I have a daughter, we're both happy. But this song will always take me back to that night and I'll always have a place in my heart you Rachel wherever you are

I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life
You go in shadows
You'll come apart and you'll go blind
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what's not there.
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then smiles cover your heart
Fade into you

So I sent this song to my then girlfriend, now wife while I was deployed in 2016 with the 13th MEU. God good memories...Please keep this video up!
I am now an old fella of ..80..it dosent get any easier..xx
Django don’t get old.
The video and song are the true spirit of the 90's. The simplicity we will never see again.
Anna Fitzpatrick maybe the simplicity was before we let responsibility run our lives
Bryan Hilton the child is grown the dream is gone
Eh, High Definition and its surrounding technology just hadn't come into the world just yet, if it had, I'm sure Mazzy would be shooting zombies, while some dude looked on with lusty eyes or something.
hauntingly beautiful
Check out Thayer Sarrano's "Shaky" album. Great music like this is still being recorded!
Couldn't agree more! Love
Omgg! ! absolutely my same feels! lol
+ltmaillt That's the drive! And day or night, it's beautiful. But, yes, just like this song, it's somehow even more powerful at night.
+Lee Dalloway i, too remember the first time I heard this song. I was a sophomore in college, and it has stayed with me since. so haunting and melancholic, but full of obsession and love. wow.
Hope Sandoval will go down as the most underrated singer of a generation.
East L.A. girl
my mom always loved this song, it brings back such good memories, being in the backseat on a winter day while my dads smoking a cig in the passenger seat. makes me wanna cry
Its my mothers favorite song too and her email lol I relate
The 90`s was the best decade of music ever.
HeavilyArmedGoy 80's was the best! some of the 90's was good, but not the best decade for music overall.
It's sad, but I truly feel there will never be music that can make you feel this type of way ever again...
Sadly, I think you are correct. Damn it! I mean that too! This song could time travel to us today and mean something to us right? It's timeless. At least to us who love it.
sad but true. songs like this grab you and you end up holding on to them forever. today's music doesn't have that.
Listen to nothing's gonna hurt you by cigarettes after sex. there are plenty of artists who make music like her, they just don't ever get big because people don't appreciate true music.
estambol you are a very good writer. thanks
Fantastic BAND!!!
Songs like this don't play on the radio today. Only in the 90's.
You should have heard what we heard on the radio in the 60s and 70s.
today on Radio 1 VRT Belgian national radio
the melancholy in her voice is a killer..just WOW!
I was in college, heard it somewhere and it haunted me. At the height of the nineties alternative movement, but unique with it's own rhythm and soul
I wanna hold the hand inside you
I wanna take the breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life, you go in shadow
You'll come upon and you'll go black
Some kind of night into your darkness
Close your eyes with what's not there
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
The strange light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart is out of home
You put your hands into your head
And your smiles cover your heart
Carisa Laurents was ołi
Carisa Laurents why did i dream of paola this morning? ive seen her more times than i ever seen her. she must have pulled a string/cord in my memory.
i want to fade into her but ..
Beautiful
Carisa Laurents beautiful thing is , you make out the meaning to the lyrics on your own ❤️
So hauntingly beautiful even now its utterly timless never grow tired of this song!!
Such a haunting melody. One of my favorites on a country drive.
I was listening to this song back in the 90's and some stupid DJ on KROQ in L.A. said boring after playing the song. I loved the Dreamy quality it has, especially that night leaving the desolate Valley and going back to Hollywood. Can't believe I remember it 20 some years later.
Hey Charles..........This music has got more substance than Lil Wayne & Rihanna combined.
2010's music blowwwsssssss.
This is my childhood and beyond. It's just one of those songs that remain with you forever.
Thank you David Roback for adding beauty to the world
Rest In Peace xx
This is one of those songs that just takes you back, wherever that is.
Love it
Ethel Clakley , i agree i can remember a green tshirt and blue jeans my girlfriend wore but mostly it's a feeling or a vibe, a split second where i feel like i was there in my old car driving her over the bridge by my parents house..hopeful and energetic and young...
How about you what do you remember?
More than 20 years still the most beautiful song. Hope's amazing voice still gives me the shivers
this is my 2 month old daughters lullaby....been playing it for her all week ..soothes her right to sleep...🍼🌜👼💞
better hope she doesn't end up on a bender in her youth as a result
Why would she? Because you equate this song with a bender? I guess you showed her for playing this song to her daughter. Champion.
just following the other comments on the thread, not sure if your senile
Bless you both! I've always had utmost respect for the "Miracle of Life". F the haters!:)
John Franks clap.... clap....
oh the memories, wish they still played this on the radio, first time I've heard this song in 17 years
One of the most beautiful and incredible songs of all time
Alyssa Van Vleet I concur
Listening to this when you're falling in love & listening to it with a broken heart makes it sound like 2 different songs.
I'm in the second moment...
*** LoveKnowsNoBounds *** I can do both...
*** LoveKnowsNoBounds ***it's true....
truest shit ever
*** LoveKnowsNoBounds *** I have said that before about this song
This song always reminds me of my ex. She was a good woman, I was too blind to see it. 22 years have passed, and I still think about her.
Born to ride Exactly my same though, could have, would have, should've...
Going through the same shit right now..
15 yrs w/o my ex, if she walked in right now Id marry her
Born to ride try telling her how to feel now? It’s never too late. Especially for true love. ❤️❤️
call her. love is above laws of time and space.
This song has haunted me for years. Every time I forget about it, it will show up on a TV show or randomly.
Music these days has nothing tied to it... no feelings at all!
this song is on the soundtrack of my teenage love experiences in the 90's. Feels good man
Yesss
SavagesInMyTown me too
Your music intoxicated me. You are living proof that Angels walk this Earth. In a heartbeat I'd play Bass for you. Please never stop. John
Every time I turn this song on I get chills immediately. Love you guys. Best music tht people need to listen to
This song reminds me of waiting for my friend getting ready to go out with gel on his head while i'm sitting in the couch reading the latest Details Magazine and checking out the newest fashion of that time and seeing this video on MTV on Friday night, I don't know why I always think of that moment every time I hear this song. Memories(Sigh)!
TheSonnyjim1000 haha...........burp
Sonnyj: I love what you wrote. My yoga instructor turned me on to this, so for me it holds a similar sense of weekly routine comingled, in my case, with the (grapefruit) scent-memory of my yoga mat spritz. Needless to say, I love it. xxoo
That's kind of nice
TheSonnyjim1000 I love memories
Memories will be the last things will ever have at the end of our road in life. Enjoy them!!!!
listening to this song, tears become hapiness. we would like to be alone, to find ourselves again. we want to get hurt to be healed of the beauty of this world. we want to feel disgusted to feel the sweet taste of all those ordinary things around. be broken down to be uplifted by our best friends. we have to feel really really bad to appreciate how unique we are. we have to hit the bottom to raise and become aMAZZYing STARs again! you can not be someone else, but you can be yourself!
+1
I just love how you exceptionally wrote who we are and in the real life How we choose to became with balance of being unbalanced to restart reload me. Tear me up bring me down to absolute nothing to find myself to build me up make me SHINE to that AMAZZYINGLY SHINEY STAR THAT WE ARE... Tricky SK you said it best...
Beautifully said!
just love what you said.
A-Mazzy- ing saying, dude, but it's plain sure yuh don't have to bear such pain to feel thee pleasure , thee one ov being, One with All . Just listen to yuhr heart, and do it, Right now ! Dare to become wot yuh are ...
so nostalgic, melancholic, emotional and beautiful at the same time that it hurts ...
A timeless work of art
Reality4Me really?
MissDistarr60 Thank you for sharing that inspiring story of your personal struggles and overcoming them. It was sincerely heard.
Been listening to this song pretty much every weekend or so since 1994... still love it like the first time I heard it. Hope sweet Hope :-)
never gets old.. simply amazing
One of the most underrated bands of all time. Mazzy star is ALWAYS on my playlist.
I don't know where or when I first heard this song, but I've always loved it for as long as I can remember.
same i'm trying hard to remember when i first heard it, but i can't. Anyways, ii's just beautiful.
Possibly the movie soundtrack for Angus... That seems to be what I recall as the first for me, but likely not the first time it was used commercially.
Amen
for me it was Empire Records
"Some kind of light, into your darkness."
In terms of sheer emotion and poetic beauty this has to be one of the greatest recordings ever made.
First heard this today. Wow just wow, brought me to tears.
Wow just heard this? Congrats for finding one of the greatest songs of ALL TIME❣❣💞💞💔💔
can you feel this?what amazing song
Great singer, sadly, like myself, anxiety takes over and makes life difficult to keep going on.................
tomorrow will definitely be a better day
That is why she just vanished fame was too much! Thank you for the thoughts!!!
I think she is with Echo and the Bunnymen now.
go
She just did a song with massive attack, its pretty cool too
Ahh Mazzy! I remember being 13 when this album dropped in 93 and watching the music video for this song at like 3:30-4 in the morning on MTV when everybody was passed out from the party. Great song from a great period in time, I miss those days!
Man what a beautiful song! Nostalgia from the 90s comes rushing back! 👌😎👍👉♥️
صدقت🔥👀
Damn I wish it was still the '90s.
which was.... perfectly fine....
this song may be somhow the best moment of my life.....
very 90's buzz-kill era
Me too i was prob playing with Lego miss the days
But with the big butt/curvy girl acceptance of today! ;)
this song describes what it feels like to love someone who doesn't love you back, to be worthless to them.
I really loved this song. Hauntingly Spiritualized Melancholiness.
Hauntingly beautiful
MAZZY STAR YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL, YOUR VOICE TAKES ME BACK TO MY YOUTH.
pure bliss
Mazzy Star is the Band. Hope Sandoval is the singer.
in 1996 my first love broke my heart and this song always reminds of that...after 21yrs I don't even remember that girl but I continue to love this song =)
Octavio Alamilla I don't know how anyone could forget their first Love. That's one of the most intense feelings a person ever experiences in Life...
You must be young, Ingrid.
Ingrid, I will never forget that experience (first love), but I just wanted to say that I'm ok what that girl now...I just kept the good memories =)
eXcommunicate1979 Forever Young at heart!!
Octavio Alamilla Gotcha! I feel the same way. Keep the good, leave the bad behind 👍
Hope Sandoval`s voice is an addiction I love very much, listen to her albums every day
This song helps me think of those innocent times with my wife, before we went into the world and saw what changed us. It makes my heart skip a beat while blinking... like I've been consumed by the emotion caused by the long slurs of the guitar and her sultry voice. I love you still Chelsey, 13 years and counting.
Damn...i'm new here.Never heard of Mazzy Star before...what a great band, song and girl!
You're welcome, true music here !
many people haven't heard of them; but this is one of those songs that a lot of people seem to have a memory involving. I can remember first hearing it on the radio on a long night drive, around 2-3 am, when I was 16-17
hope sandoval is incredible....shes been singing for years i urge u check out her other songs!
Who else good taste in music brought them here🙌🏽
o.O
Bieber link
My giant ego brought me here.
Nope.
My tiny weiner brought me here.
Maybe we can swap.
The feels this song brings on...
Honestly never heard this. It's beautiful!
This is so sultry, and at the same time deliciously haunting
Haven't heard this in so long. Has to have been at least a decade.
or two?
no shit right?
This song makes me miss the 90's, big time! It was a decade of The New Hippies, African American Pride, flannel, and a new genre of rock music. There was so much hope and possibility of a better world... that all came crashing down in the year 2000!
Skye ID You are so right about that. 9/11 pretty much destroyed all of that hope. I really miss the 90s, life and the world seemed so much simpler back then.
So true :-(
its not that it's connected to a certain time in our history but a state of being i think we all long and miss the purity and happiness and love more than the decade or time this song is associated with. Like falling in love for the first time... you remember the feeling and the moment like it's yesterday.
I dream of living as a teenager in America during the 90s. Seems like a better time.
Oskar Igwe It was in some way.
Mazzy Star’s songs are like a sanctuary where we remember 90’s.
Childhood, teenage years , that now we have to grieve for.
Life was better when we discovered it and future seems to be a swindle
Memories rise up from our souls, brought by melody like leaves in autumn wind.
thx that's my feelings too. you have a way with words my friend
Thx bro ;)
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
tgolden12 yes and just to know it about her herion addiction
Such a beautiful song, such a beautiful voice, such a beautiful lady
Play This For My LOVE ~(O*. When I'm Gone
+Owen Marley wow dude....
Duke that's heavy bro
2005, i'm 15
On my first ever date to the school dance with the super cute but shy girl on my bus. But this song will always take me back to that night and I'll always have a place in my heart you Rachel wherever you are
hello @TromaFan4Life, thanks for sharing your beautiful memory. Keep thight in your heart !
Listening to this song is the most soothing way to realise the girl u love will never feel the same way about u
Yeah dude I feel that :(
Bobby G Been there. Keep looking bro. She's out there. Every Jack has his Jill.
It was always the drugs that broke us. I'm so sad I couldn't do better to assist her addiction..
God, I miss good music. 20 years and this is still powerful.
music will never be the same...
+jensuarez1331 chill out people. music is still good.
There's still a lot of good ones... Gabri Aplin, Paper Aeroplanes, The Honey Trees, Lauren Aquilina, Oh Land, Trixie Whitley.
You just have to search lol.
Yes, because it's never possible for good music to exist in modern times.
Shizune Hakamichi please link some of this wonderful modern music. I am sure it is out there, but it ain't part of popular culture.
This song still kills me every time. That ineffable quality, the feeling you get about someone and well...
Johnny Deutschemark .Me
Great word ineffable !
Is it me or does this song make me feel like I'm going to see the world in a different way
This song hurts but in a beautiful way
Aww thank you! x
I always loved this song but never actually felt until now.
I've loved this song for more than 23 years. Never gets old.
Awesome Song
god, i remember the day i bought it in 94
How long has it been since this song was released? This song in American Honey was breathless
Timeless....
34 yrs in 2018!
this song never fails to give me the feels
Yep
Can't thank my stars enough for being a teen in the 90's. The most awesome decade for music
Probably 50% of all straight dudes had a crush on that singer at some point in the 90s.
for some reason, every girl in a shoegaze/dreampop band is always the cutest girl you've ever seen
@@dirtmcgirt1038 Very curious, but pretty accurate. Something about a mopey aloof girl.. .
@@1jcitizen probably because this song, with her as the front of the song and band, makes you think of "her", whoever that is to you.
Probably 100%.
