I honestly love every game you guys have made since max Payne. So, if you have a chance one day, and you think you will be able to do it, will you buy rights from Microsoft and continue the quantum break story? It was more like a film to me consisting of several episodes, and I want the second season.
I screamed so loud during the announcement my roommate came into my room to see if I was okay. This has been my most anticipated sequel since I was 16 years old, I can't express the amount of joy the first game has brought me.
Alan Wake is one of those rare games you can go back to years after beating it and still get sucked right back into it. There's a charm to it , tihe setting, the great GREAT writing, the nods to Twin Peaks and Twilight Zone Alan Wake has its own flavor just like Silent Hill and Resident Evil do. I'm so glad to be able to enjoy looking forward to this, if this sequel weren't being made it would've been a bunch of fans or community much like the Silent Hill community a devout and loyale fanbase that would be replaying the old games until the end of time, loving them but always wondering what could have been. Glad we will finally be able to enjoy Alan Wake 2. P.s so happy to hear they're going balls deep into survival horror with this one!

I can't stress how much I love Alan Wake but also Remedy. I've kept up to date with them ever since I played Alan Wake in 2011. After they announced Alan Wake 2 about 40 minutes after I got a reply to an old tweet I made in 2016 asking for a sequel, Remedy replied with the announce trailer and I couldn't stop smiling. I adore this company so much and cannot wait to see where the story goes from here. 🖤🔦☕ Also bringing back my boy Ilkka Villi 💙

I look forward to the sequel very happy and of course to know more about Control in the future, as it seems like a masterpiece to me as well.
Over the last years many veteran game studios, once great and loved, have become a disappointment: BioWare, Blizzard, CD Projekt Red, Rockstar and so on... I really do hope it will never happen to you, because you're one of these few studios that I still respect and have all the best wishes for. I grew up with Max Payne, became a bit more adult with Alan Wake and thoroughly enjoyed Control. Thank you for all these experiences and good luck, Remedy! May AW2 be a truly great and memorable game!
I actually teared up a little at Sam's comments in the last shot! The world of Alan Wake and the character himself means a lot to me and I'm absolutely thrilled we're finally getting a sequel.
I’m a big fan of Max Payne since 2001. My parent’s bought me a PC that time, and that was my first game. NOW, I’m 25, played all the big Remedy games and can’t wait for AW2. Sam, Good Luck with the project. Can’t believe that I have been knowing your face for 19 years!

I'm not even sure if it was intentional, but I so appreciate Sam dressing like Dale Cooper during the TGA announcement. Alan Wake is what introduced me to Twin Peaks, and I'm forever grateful for that.
It's so great to see the excitement on Sam Lake's face after the visible disappointment from his previous announcement of having to put Alan Wake on hold.
I'm so excited about this game. Alan Wake and Alan Wake: American Nightmare were two of my favorite games, and when I played Control's new DLC and heard Alan's voice for the first time, I knew we had something amazing coming. Cannot wait to enjoy Alan's journey once more.
Thanks Sam! It is nice that we have you and Remedy. Show everyone else how games are done, how stories are told and how the game experience is presented. I lost faith in many other companies but I have and will never lose that in you.
This really made me emotional. Remedy is one of my favorite developers of all time and I'm so glad you appreciate the passion of your fans. There were times I thought this sequel would never happen due to silly legal shenanigans, so this still feels unreal. Just knowing that you're officially working on this makes me feel I could gladly wait for as long as it needs. Thank you Sam and everyone else in the team for being so passionate and continuing to push the envelope in interactive storytelling.
Alan Wake was a cult classic and has stood the test of time. Meanwhile, you as a studio has evolved and explored new grounds with Quantum Break, Control or even Crossfire X. All this great experience along with the fantastic Northlight engine will make this turn out amazing. Remedy's games always has this thing that I can't quite put my finger on, but it makes them so engaging, memorable and unique, which puts you in a standout spotlight from the rest, because you know something the others don't. Big respects to all of you and you are the game developer pride of Scandinavia! Good luck, I can't wait!
I still can't believe it has passed over 10 years. My life and I have changed a lot since I played the last game. The way it impacted me, and the story I watched changed me, as if the story you guys wrote changed my reality like Alan changed his. After 10 years, I can't feel like a sequel is coming, but more like a new thing is been born. I don't what to come back to 10 years ago, and it feels like I can't anymore.

Seeing how much has Remedy progressed, both in terms of technology and storytelling, especially the kind which is open to analysis... It feel kinda wrong to say I'm glad that Alan Wake 2 took so long to arrive, but I really think that making the sequel now instead of 8 years ago is almost a blessing. The expectations are high, especially after Control, but I'm confident Remedy will be able to do more than just live up to them.
One of the many reasons to love Remedy, videos like this one. I basically replay all of Remedy's games like every year, but Alan Wake is my absolute favorite, the remaster is great, and hopefully you guys have a lot of fun making the sequel as good as it should be, which I have no doubt it'll be.
Passion goes a long way when making any art form, especially, video games. Passion is exactly what many AAA developers are lacking in this modern era of gaming. Thank you Remedy, for loving what you do, and fulfilling the dreams of many of us fans.
How endearing it is to see the love and care they have for their work and characters, as well as for their fans! Seeing Sam thank all towards the end has me tearing up! How much we love to see Max Payne talk about his other creations! Love, respect, and appreciation for you Sam Lake for being you and creating what you do!
I had a feeling when the remaster came out that Remedy was testing the waters and getting others caught up. I myself played this for the first time finally with the remaster and loved it. Went back and played American Nightmare, than platinum’d Control, then played Quantum Break which I also loved. Was really looking forward to whatever Remedy did next and was stunned and hyped to see it actually was Alan Wake 2. Could not be more excited for this. I grew up with and loved Max Payne. And you guys have won over a fan for life for sure.
It was all worth it. The trailer rolled with no introduction and I was only half paying attention thinking 'It's just another game'. And then after about five seconds, I realised just what I was watching and my heart was suddenly beating like a drum and I was trying to stop myself from jumping up in the air (because it was 2am in the UK). I couldn't believe it. I am incredibly excited. Thank you.
Oh boy, another dev diary. The one for Control was fun. I hope this one is even more in depth. The way you guys make games is special and I love seeing how things went on the road to release!

The look of pure joy on Sam Lake's face after he says "we're about to announce Alan Wake II" is absolutely priceless. Control was my first Remedy Game, was excited when Alan Wake Remastered happened, and am dreading that I have to wait until 2023 to play Alan Wake II, but I know that I can trust all of the amazing talent at Remedy and that the wait for the game will be well worth it. Keep up the great work, stay happy, stay healthy, and know that your community loves you.
I loved the original game so much, I can't wait to see it, take all the time in the world you need to make this and make it the fantastic sequel we all know it can be
Sam Lake is undeniably the GOATED creative director in my heart and him saying how he's happy with the way Alan Wake 2 has played out so far thematically and artistically and also casually claiming it would be the best looking Remedy game to have released after making the gorgeously harrowing experience that is Control two years prior has made my entire freaking year tbh. So excited to see what the team brings to the table yet another time!
To Sam, & the entire Remedy/Alan Wake 2 team, I say Happy Holidays & good wishes into the new year. Can't wait to get my hands on this new adventure in 2023!
We can see all the love that, not only the community but also Remedy and Sam itself have for this game. I couldn't be happier about this! thanks guys for such incredible and passionate games!

So wholesome to see Sam so excited about AW2. Sincere thanks for bringing these iconic characters and stories to life in this particular medium. With talent like this, Sam could’ve gone on to write anything from books to TV series (though he kind of did with QB haha), but he stayed with Remedy for all these years. The real GOAT

Had I been at the Game awards, I would absolutely had been that guy at every press conference shouting expletives of excitement and crying lol! I can't believe it's actually happening!
A couple years ago, I happened to find Control on PS Now, ever since then I've been obsessed with the Remedyverse. I've since played control 3 times across 3 different platforms (PS4, PS5 and PC), Quantum Break, and I just finished the Alan Wake remaster on PS5. Now, I absolutely can't wait for the sequels!
What a dream come true. I remember being one of the only people in line to get the collectors edition at GameStop when Alan Wake dropped. The cashier asked me if I was sure I didn't want Red Dead Redemption. Haha! Great memories. I was 14 years old then and here I am in my late 20s. Remarkable. So looking forward to this game next year! THANK YOU REMEDY.
I started playing Alan Wake Remastered like 2 days before the announcement by chance. It was the greatest surprise. Thank you for continuing one of my favorite games of all time!
I used to love writing stories myself. Wanted to be a writer when I was younger, being inspired by Stephen King and even Alan Wake lol. Been a while though since I've written. Just an old dream of mine I had, to be a writer someday, but still love great stories. :)
This is the perfect time to have become a fan of Alan Wake and Remedy Entertainment- I couldn’t have chosen better. Just three months ago, I decided to return to Alan Wake because I was in the mood for a Survival Horror game, and while I am aware it isn’t one, it always felt like it as a 10-year old with Nyctophobia; even now, 12 years later, it terrifies me. I wanted to wait for a remaster, but it hadn’t been announced yet. After beating it, I still hoped for a remaster, as well as a sequel. One month after downloading it on PC, the remaster was announced, and even though I had just beaten it, I pre-ordered it as soon as I saw pre-orders were available. Now, two months later, the sequel I’ve been wanting to hear about has been announced as well. This is the first game in years I can say that I’m heavily anticipating. As a filmmaking student who so far has two projects inspired by your works (Max Payne and Alan Wake being the inspirations,) and wants to be involved in video game development as well as film, I must say that you are one of the most creative, driven, and all-around best companies in the industry. Keep on keepin’ on!
Love Remedy and Sam Lake! I just replayed AW remastered again. AW 2 !!!! After so many years it is finally happening. 23 cannot come fast enough so let's skip 22 for ALAN WAKE 2.
Unbelievably ecstatic for this next chapter in the Alan Wake story. As a writer, reader, and fan, I cannot wait to dive back in Cauldron Lake once more. I will be following every development update that makes its way to the interwebs.

I have been waiting for this game for 11 years. I can't believe this is finally happening. My favourite game of all time is getting a sequel. Remedy, take all the time you need.
Love you guys. Always making masterpieces
It is so refreshing to see devs love their project this much! I’m so excited!
It s a one of best new ever
We love Alan Wake
Thank you Sam💝
Big fan of Alan wake. Looking forward to changes from first game .
To Sam, & the entire Remedy/Alan Wake 2 team, I say Happy Holidays & good wishes into the new year. Can't wait to get my hands on this new adventure in 2023!
0:28 "Departure" I see what you did there.
We can see all the love that, not only the community but also Remedy and Sam itself have for this game. I couldn't be happier about this! thanks guys for such incredible and passionate games!
Sam's excitement is contagious! This was great, thanks for filming this :D
when they released the remastered alan wake game i FUCKING KNEW THEY ARE PREPARING US FOR A SEQUEL!!!! They reminded us about the first game to prepare for a second. Its a shame its going to be only in 2023 but better later than never, i cant wait for it !!!! And from trailer it looks like Alan is going to be like John Wick from nightmares thats fucking epic :D
I have so much faith that you guys will knock this out of the park! Alan wake is my favorite game of all time and I love the world you guys have built, quantum break and control are just as good, so excited to see what you guys have up your sleeves
Congratulations on your achievement! This announcement made my year!
We can't wait! You guys are one of the most inspiring devs!
Day 1 purchase from me. Just going through everything Alan Wake right now with my family. Good job guys.
Played your games since 2001. You remain one of my favorite developers and keep my love of single player narrative alive and well. Sam Lake is a big inspiration for me. Love you all thank you for what you do.
Alan Wake was my favorite game of the 7th generation. So I was thrilled with that reveal of Alan Wake 2
Now thank you sam for being my hero for 21 years and im a grown man now and you still my hero
The most charismatic, passionate, personally invested devs in AAA today. Love you guys, thank you for caring so much! Alan Wake Remastered is giving me a ton of joy this year. I cannot wait for the sequel 🤘
Alan Wake 2 will be the best game thank you Remedy and Sam Lake
Man as soon as I heard Alan Wake's voice I lost it I couldn't breathe I was so happy
and then BOOM
ALAN WAKE II that was the best day of my life
Had I been at the Game awards, I would absolutely had been that guy at every press conference shouting expletives of excitement and crying lol!
The whole Remedy team are legends. Thank you for creating some of my favorite games throughout the years and thank you for many more to come!
I started playing Alan Wake Remastered like 2 days before the announcement by chance. It was the greatest surprise. Thank you for continuing one of my favorite games of all time!
It was Alan wake that finally pushed to start writing a story of my own. It’s got ways to go but it’s a true joy to do it. Thank you remedy!
I used to love writing stories myself. Wanted to be a writer when I was younger, being inspired by Stephen King and even Alan Wake lol. Been a while though since I've written. Just an old dream of mine I had, to be a writer someday, but still love great stories. :)
@@_chemicalbeat_ that’s awesome! God bless you and your loved ones!
Thank you, Sam and everyone on the Remedy team! Lets go!
I just finished the game and it was absolutely awesome. Thank you.
Thank You So Much Sam. This Is Amazing that Remedy Finally Announced This Game Officially. We Are So Excited For This Game. 👑Remedy Games you are legend💫
10 years of that pure juwel of the game that Alan Wake is. Last night I couldnt sleep and played AW the whole night. Still have 360, PC, Xone, & 2 Remasters. Every game 100% finished and 2X Plat on PS4 & PS5.
And when the time is right I also wonna replay Quantum Break on a PS5 🙏
Thank you guys! You are awesome. Alan wake was one of the beast games of the history :) Alan Wake 2 will be even better.
I'm replaying the remaster of og Alan Wake what a game man 😭 lol Can't wait for the next one!
My favorite game dev studio and Sam Lake is probably my favorite game writer. So glad you guys finally get to make a sequel to AW, and I'm glad I get a chance to play it.
