Great review. Definitely underrated in many places. However, you seem to misunderstand the meaning behind skyline a little bit. Skyline is their top line, the line reaching for the sky. Most famous skyline in Japan? Mt. Fuji breaking through the clouds. Thus the Infiniti was born. Infiniti logo? Mt. Fuji. Basically skyline = luxury line. Yes, it started off with gtrs, but evolved into their luxury line. The naming structure stuck too. GT-R = twin-turbo, GT-T = single turbo, GT = NA (in this case 350 gt). Even the q50 is referred to as the skyline sedan and if you overlay it over an image of the r34, its the same front end - 'liquified'. They only kept the skyline name for the q50 line. The q70, or the m35/27 that came before it is called Fuga. Its a really interesting evolution, you just need to understand where and how it started and understand the thinking behind it. Another fun fact, the new q50 runs a VR engine derived from the VR in the r35 gt-r. And another one, the AWD system in the g35x/g37x/350gt awd/370gt awd is exactly the same as the r34. Well, the sport version anyways, the non-sport has an open diff in the rear. (yours is an xS, AWD version with rear LSD because of snow button :D) Since I can't seem to shut up, the rear seats don't have that adjustability function in the North American version, but they also don't fold down. Its a rigid metal frame behind the seat and one of the reasons the sedan is actually lighter than the coupe. The Japanese version also has folding mirrors, mirror and side marker turn signals, and some later versions even had front cameras, not just rear. There are also a bunch of little bits shared with or can be swapped from the r35 gt-r. Things like map lights, start button, those magnesium paddles are the same parts. God I love this car....

I love the African Rosewood Trim package on the V35 and V36 Skyline/Infiniti G. Nissan finally started putting real wood trim on their cars in this price range starting with the V35 Skyline. Yep. This car is just as much a Skyline as the other 11 generations before it. People think the R series of Skylines is all there was, but they're wrong.
Surprised that they didn’t import these in aus to sell. Another great review and the audio was heaps better too. Good to see some proper JDM on the channel
Nice review mate. Remember the Skyline name wasn't only reserved for GTR's though, there were plenty of rb20e slushboxes made in the R32 shape and rb25de's in the 33/34. Have you driven a FD2R?
Paul I know they don’t need to be a GTR to have a skyline name.. it’s just that this generation of skyline never received a GTR version.. n I’ve always thought they would have been better off just calling it a infinity G35 or leave it at a Nissan V36 but I get that they wanted to use the name to drive sales😅 No never driven one
@@RossReviewsau this is why i don't sub to people who are too opinionated and don't just review the car. You missed the entire point he made lol. The SKYLINE nameplate spans back to 1957, it wasn't even originally Nissan's, and Skylines were just compact luxury cars. Quad tails were on those cars way back then, and they only made GTRs for about 18 cumulative years that the name has been used. The V35+ Skylines are still very much in line with the skyline name, as 90% of Skylines were NOT GTRs. They realized they needed a purpose built racer and not a suped-up version of a normal car, which is why the R35 GTR exists. There's a reason the G35 coupe and R35 look so similar. They used the G35 as the test mule and it was ALMOST put into production fitted with AWD and a TTV6.
Ross, you don't realize, in the middle east and Japan, the skyline name didn't mean anything. Base models of skyline was the equivalent of a toyota Cressida, yes, not cresta/chaser, but old geezer Cressida. Skyline name is jist what it is, a name. Like an impreza~

I had a 2013 G37x Sedan.... it was an Excellent choice, AWD, 328 hp, & it looked great. I do miss driving that car. 😊 [fuel mileage is low] I always liked the coupes. The sweet spot was to find a 2013 that just came off a 3 year lease...in 2016 for example....was a great time in the US to pick up a pre-owned G37.... for less than a new ACCORD. I admire Accords, but a G37x with 29k miles is a better buy than a new Accord V6 or 2.0T. I think the New Z is ugly. I am curious about the New Integra 🙂

nice buy! they are really good cars.. lots of aftermarket parts available for these cars.. check ebay you should find heaps!
Ross Reviews bet. Thanks man! 🙏🏽
To be fair it was called a skyline before it was rebadged for the north american market
Yep. This car is just as much a Skyline as the other 11 generations before it. People think the R series of Skylines is all there was, but they're wrong.
Whoever modded this, really did a good job. Some mods are just gawdy and ugly, but this one was done tastefully.
yeh i really like it only negative was the exhaust rattle but easy fix..
Great review Ross, defiantly an underrated car here in aus
Juicy_Shadowz thanks m8! Yes it really is.. even the v35!
@@RossReviewsau they sure are, any chance of seeing a rs5 review anytime soon Ross?
Juicy_Shadowz I’m on the hunt brotha.. hopefully one comes my way soon.. I’ve always like the look of them
@@RossReviewsau car yard in Perth has the one I want 2014 in the blue , looks mint👌
@@Juicyshadowz wish they would join the ross reviews team haha love to review one
Surprised that they didn’t import these in aus to sell. Another great review and the audio was heaps better too. Good to see some proper JDM on the channel
Mitch James it does surprise me also🤔 I think they would have done well.. glad you enjoyed 🙏 thanks bro
Wait the rear seats recline? I've had two of these and never knew that.
yes haha very cool little feature to make it that much more premium
@@RossReviewsau apparently the US models do not have that feature. I went outside yesterday after watching your video and there was no lever there.
@@ateurv8216 really?? that is strange tho would not surprise me since there are usually small differences between US and JDM cars
@@ateurv8216 yea same here no recline... but we do get a cubby space tucked on the right side of the center arm rest
You can get them in some models.
0:53 Song please
best thing about this car is a stock fg turbo blows it out of the water like a dead fish
Beast60 wtf
haha your not wrong but besides the point
I got my s variant for 8900 in Feb 19 in new Zealand
bargain bro.. great car
I had no idea these had reclining backseats. Looking to buy one next week.
great cars you wont regret it!
Future Frozen I wonder if that’s for the Japanese right hand driver I will have to check mine out a American version I never seen these feat
Nice review mate. Remember the Skyline name wasn't only reserved for GTR's though, there were plenty of rb20e slushboxes made in the R32 shape and rb25de's in the 33/34. Have you driven a FD2R?
Paul I know they don’t need to be a GTR to have a skyline name.. it’s just that this generation of skyline never received a GTR version.. n I’ve always thought they would have been better off just calling it a infinity G35 or leave it at a Nissan V36 but I get that they wanted to use the name to drive sales😅
No never driven one
Fun fact: GT-R is a trim level
I wonder if the car need to be fixed how difficult is find parts in Australia?
Ross, you don't realize, in the middle east and Japan, the skyline name didn't mean anything. Base models of skyline was the equivalent of a toyota Cressida, yes, not cresta/chaser, but old geezer Cressida.
Skyline name is jist what it is, a name. Like an impreza~
Bro, when are want to speed with my same car V6 skyline it cut and gives me AT check and then come to normal , do you know what be the cause please help me
Really dope video. Definitely getting one of these.
great car to buy!
Nice 👌, my neighbor a few houses down has a couple version of this car and it sounds so nice. That and the videos I've watched about this car convinced me to buy one by the end of the month or early June. Nice , thorough review man 😎👌
Right on thanks m8!! these cars are really great! amazing value for money.. you will love it man glad i could help ya make your decision
I had a 2013 G37x Sedan.... it was an Excellent choice, AWD, 328 hp, & it looked great. I do miss driving that car. 😊 [fuel mileage is low]
I always liked the coupes.
I am curious about the New Integra 🙂
they are so underrated.. i swear.. amazing cars for the money.. new Z has promise but time will tell
My only issue is that air bag light won’t stop blinking lol but other than that I love mine!!
great cars! really underrated
Could be an issue with your clock spring.
Looking at buying one of these in nz think this video has sold me shot bro
Highly recommend mate 🤙 sweet car
how about 250GT?? there is one cheap on 2nd hand market
yeh im sure they are a good car.. just less powerfull
I love my v36,3.7vhr. A lot of fun.
great cars
I have the same one but without rear spoiler and really want one i hope someone is selling these parts too.
they are super clean cars eh
Excellent video, I'm glad to know all that information from you about this car. I'm planning to buy Nissan Skyline 350GT from Japan, please do more videos like this you gave me good inspiration about this car. Thanks
thanks m8 happy you enjoyed the video they are really great cars!
@@RossReviewsau Is there any way to replace the Japanese infotainment (Radio) for one in English?, Have you tried that?
@@ClintonSnow yes you can there is a program you can get installed that changes the infotainment to english.. tho try n find some one in your area who does it, as depending on the year it can very on if it can be done or not..
Got the same car here in New Zealand, what's exhaust kit you guys recommend?
nice mate they are great cars.. not sure on the best exhaust i know the invidia is ok.. there is a US brand that makes these cars sound really insane but the name has left me blank.. its very pricey tho from memory was like 3k (i used to have a V35)
love the way he says skyline
😮💨👌
What’s the color code/ what’s the color name?
As usual another great review, I've learnt something new . Way too much electronic crap but that's all modern cars . just wish the imported drivers knew how to drive .
Peter Goodwin thanks brotha🙌🙏 90% of road users need a refresh eh🙄lol
It’s one of my dreams to come true owning one some day ❤
you got this
Hey im looking at one what should i look out for when i go see it in person
just look for basic maintenance issues.. is it clean, is the oil clean, any vibrations when driving.. the cars are pretty good from memory not a lot of specifics to look out for..
I have 2007 skyline infiniti... love it so much. Looks dope. Performance wise awesome👌
Good choice! they are a great all rounder eh
True
can we change the language from Japanese to english?
depends on the year sometimes.. but most of the time you can.. tho you need to go through aftermarket places which can be expensive and difficult to find
Where do you purchase spoilers like that
great video..i didn't know this info..i have the 07 g35x awd sedan vq35hr
Glad it helped thanks m8
wait, where did u got 4 door g35, in malaysia only got coupe.
yes there are 4 door ones too :)
Dude I have a 2008 g35s it’s so dope I love it I have a 6 speed manual transmission and it’s quick nice and I love it
Very nice! They go well
How is it like maintaining and servicing in Australia? Wanting to buy one
from when i had my V35 it was fairly standard.. was easy enough to get servicing and parts..
That is my exact 07 G35x😍😍😍
this exact one??!
Same color, year, and spoiler, except it has the Infiniti badge
I just have to know what kind of wheels those are or rather where to get them from
sorry not sure on the spec unfortunatly sick set up tho eh
Thinking of getting the 350gt or the used 2010 wrx g3...
Which one would you recommend?
350gt is much more reliable
Nice work Johnny and great car. 👍
dspada67 thank you🙌🙏 I liked it 😁
Is this model cvt transmission or normal automatic, I’m looking at buying one and want to avoid cvt at all costs bc of what I’ve heard about it
normal automatic i believe in this one.. yes stay away from the CVT boxes
these were not available with a CVT
And you know just like very other V36 the trim is peeling on the steering wheel and door inserts..
minor things lol still amazing value these cars
@@RossReviewsau indeed and good over all review!
@@nighthawk0077 thanks m8
Might buy one this weekend
Great car
@@RossReviewsau ether this or Audi A4.since I got a r33 and a 180sx and easy to fix and service,I'm going with this.
@@sparklingsams3155 go with this.. Audi is expensive

i have a 07 g35x love my car alot
They are great
How to get rid of beeping sound while reversing?😀
lol no idea!
People need to learn that Nissan did not make the skyline bc of the GTR and every Infiniti G owner should call their car a skyline regardless of not being a gtr
I bought a same one for 2 weeks. Wood trim but no cruise control. Could u share some light on music listening. I do not have aux plug in the arm rest. I only can use fm transmitter or cds. 😂😂
i believe they did receive aux inputs but it may only be in later models..
I mean, they're jdm Nissan Skylines.i love mine. I have had VQ35DE, but the HR is way better, in my opinion. ❤
Solid cars
Just bought one waiting on a bcm what kind of rims and size are those ? Thanks
sorry not sure on wheel specs.. but great cars eh! loved this thing
I need those rims... anyone know what they are called ?
Nvm there are called niche Verona
sorry i wasnt sure
my skyline is a 250 gt,how do i take off the 4wheel drive??
i believe some are AWD all the time.. not sure you can turn it off..
In Japan they call it a skyline which is why it has its name
true just think its lost the meaning is all
And if you want the wagon version.....m35 stagea! Do a review of one ross. Please.
deanosslewis yes I haven’t tested one yet.. would be interested if I can find one I will get it on the channel!🤙📸
Ross Reviews no this is not AWD. I have a v36 sedan and it does not have a front diff. A right hand drive AWD version at least in the vq35hr was never produced.
Mine has a Snow button and it is RWD only. Snow mode only makes the car sluggish so as to not lose traction when in the snow.
It took less than a minute of googling to confirm that. Otherwise good video
ok i checked n for whatever reason couldn't figure it out.. i think you are correct tho.. i chirp the tires a couple times so thought it must have been rear wheel only.. hope you enjoyed it anyhow
It's like a Nissan bluebird sylphy G11
I'm In love with the car what model is it so I can cop one
V36 Skyline
Skylines are normal cars, GTRs are racing versions of a skyline. Like type r like hondas
yes but feels odd no GTR version no?
I have a 03 v35 love my DE
very nice m8
Ross, what's the difference between Nissan Skyline 250GT and Nissan Skyline 350GT?
250GT has a smaller displacement engine.. it's a 2.5L V6 with about 222HP vs the 3.5L V6 i reviewed.. (don't get the 250GT unless you don't care about speed..)
What’s the brand of the wheels ?
Sorry brother not sure
Thinking about getting one soon, there’s a lot in NZ 🇳🇿
they are great
Whts tyre and rims size
I actually like the previous body style in the sedan more than these for the simplicity of it
Taylor Vazquez I really don’t like them stock.. but I have seen really nice looking modified ones.. the coupe looks good tho either way
my 07 g35x sedan doesnt have paddles o_o! i need this
Bro order a steering column it hooked right up
Is it reliable?
Fairly good these

Love my VQ36 350 sp
They are so nice eh! highly underrated.. nice last name ;p
I don't want to sound like a noob, but is the body the same as the v36 g37? For instance, if I got a v36 g35, would I be able to buy g37 sedan parts and put them on this car? Thank you!
dont quote me lol but i think for the most part you should be safe..
@@RossReviewsau ok thank you! After some more research, I think the g35 and g37 front bumpers and headlights are slightly different, but most of the rest of the car seems the same. Great video!

Ur right bro I'm getting one soon
its so underrated... great car
i need info on those rims
Why does the speedometer only go up to 190 km/h ??????
haha i have no idea
Because all jdm cars are limited to 180 or 190
What is the wheel setup
not sure on the specifics sorry
Mate what’s the exhaust on that one?
sorry not sure
what tires and suspension are you running
sorry was not my car.. not sure
Unfortunately Infiniti is pulling out of Australia after 2020
Boost In Motion 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
what kind of mufffler is that? i need that muffler for my car

nice one man great cars
Is one with 170'000 miles worth it for 2 grand?
thats a lot of miles haha but motors are pretty good from what ive heard.. would have to see the car.. if the car looks taken care of then go for it 2k is nothing
@@RossReviewsau thanks man i just heard about these cars and instantly fell in love with the look

Wait are you sure this V36 sedan is AWD? Every single one I've come across has been RWD :/
there are AWD models if it has a SNOW* mode its AWD from my knowledge
The g35x is the awd version I have a g35xs
Ross Reviews no this is not AWD. I have a v36 sedan and it does not have a front diff. A right hand drive AWD version at least in the vq35hr was never produced.
Mine has a Snow button and it is RWD only. Snow mode only makes the car sluggish so as to not lose traction when in the snow.

@@Wifelover_ ok.. i could have been wrong on that fact.. was hard to confirm when i was googling. must be the north american versions that if they have the snow mode then its AWD ? that would make sense as they do change things between market..
Ross Reviews that’s just a snow mode to cut power back so you won’t spin the tires And. Get a bit more traction in the snow my q50 has a snow mode awd will have a awd badge
