Was anyone else at the filming of this!? It was at Charlotte Motor Speedway. They let fans in early in the morning and we stayed until late at night. I must have heard this song 100 times that day!
I was a student at UNC Charlotte and several of my friends and I went out there for the filming. We are in that crowd somewhere. Yes, we watched him lip synch that chorus a hundred times. Good times.

Neshama Ziplon Ernie Irvan isn't dead.
hmm, i was misinformed it seems., i was informed growing up he passed away too and that was why ricky rudd took over the number 28 from him. many apologies.
No Ernie had a bad crash at Michigan, returned to racing, he is still living. He left the 28 in 1997 to run the No. 36 Skittles car.
Ricky Rudd drove the 28 from 2000-2002. Dale Jarrett took over the 28 after Ernie's crash in 94. He drove it until Ernie came back in 95 then went to the new Yates racing #88 where he won the championship in 99.
You're probably thinking Kenny Irwin Jr. Ernie Irvan was replaced by Kenny Irwin in the #28 Texaco Havoline Ford. I remember this vividly because Ernie was my childhood favorite growing up and I was disheartened when he was out of the #28. For a short time he drove the #88 Texaco car while Dale Jarrett was filling in for him. Irvan got the 28 ride back but was released by RYR after 1997. Ernie went to drive the Skittles/M&M's car for M2B Motorsports. He had scary crashes in '94 & '99 both at Michigan and eventually retired early from NASCAR due to injuries mounting up, also to provide for his family by preventing further accidents. Ricky Rudd is the one who replaced Kenny Irwin in the #28 ride in the 2000 season the same year Kenny Irwin went on to drive the #42 Bellsouth ride. He had a fatal accident in practice at New Hampshire Motorspeedway that year. Unfortunately lost Adam Petty at the same track that year too and Dale Earnhardt Sr at the 2001 Daytona 500.
