I still get chills with this one, especially when Cesar starts the tribal cries. Elizabeth, of the channel The Charismatic Voice, reviews this with the original composer of the Halo theme. It's awesome.💙
Layne will sometimes make a different mouth movement for certain sounds, because as the video director he is, he's always conscious about how someone *looks* while filming, and some of the mouth movements he does while recording he finds too "ugly" for video, lol. so if you see him making a sound that you don't feel fits with the mouth movement he does, that's usually why. 😅😅
Cesar mentioned in an interview that he happened to walk in on Layne and Scott 'speaking' complex beatboxing sounds at each other as they discussed this arrangement and it was just incredible. Oh, to be a fly on the wall 😀
Scott Porter recently came in runner up on the US version of The Masked Singer as The Gumball 😅 Be on the lookout for VoicePlay’s new one coming out soon, it’s kind of a part 2 of In the Hall of the Mountain King.
Your probably gonna like the one Voiceplay is gonna post to RUclips this month. Its similar to in the hall of the mountain king in vibes. I have rewatched it so many times already lmfao
What most people don't realize about connecting over video games is, it's an updated, more adult version of what we used to do in the sandbox at 3, or with Hot-Wheels at 5, or hide-and-seek at 7, etc. Archaeologists have found toys at dig sites dating back thousands of years. Play is an important part of life. And anyone who doesn't get that.... doesn't fully live....
Scott Porter is Voiceplay's original beatboxer 1997-2003. He left for a very successful acting career. Layne then took over as beatboxer.
Speaking of In The Hall of The Mountain King.....
Voiceplay just released their new video on their Patreon a couple days ago. They brought back the trolls/grundels along with Rachel Potter. It is absolutely fantastic.
They haven't decided a name for it yet.
It should be released to the public within the next few weeks.
Hey just a heads up for the future, until voiceplay says anything about their new song, you can't mention anything that is in it and who they are collaborating with until they do. You can mention that the video is great and if someone wants to watch it earlier they should sign up for patren.
@georgia8368
I know that.
I was told by several higher tier Patreons that what I said here is perfectly acceptable. I just can't say the name or give away a lot of information.
I've been doing these for 2 years. I only got in trouble once for mentioning the name before VP did.
And a lot of reactors have thanked me for the info. Even if I didn't provide a release date or name.
Scott was their beatbox until he left - and that's when Layne stepped into the role.
That was when Geoff helped teach Layne how to beatbox.
@@barbarakennedy2667 I've heard people say that. Layne himself said in an interview that he's been beatboxing since he was 15.
@@Aurora-cv5tohe played around with it . But never full time .
@@Aurora-cv5to geoff beatboxed back in 42five
@@vDSandbox According to Layne, he started beatboxing at 15. I thought ALL boys beatboxed - especially on the bus - before that, but hey, who really cares which 15 yr old "taught" which?
Can't wait for you to do this one. Do watch it all the way through - Scott Porter was VoicePlay's beatboxer back in 1997 until he went for an acting career. You'll learn a lot about the early VoicePlay when it was known as 4:2:Five (went from 4 members to 5). You can see a cameo of Rek in VoicePlay's Boy Bands in 5 Minutes when the group was singing around a glowing trash can with Rek coming by and giving Earl (another original member) a sub sandwich. VoicePlay also does some work in front of mikes for the ACA Top Ten groupings, from movie themes, to video games, to Disney villains / then heroes / then sidekicks, lots of categories without all the dramatic flair. The movie themes one recruited Rob from Home Free to add his voice to the themes.
I’m so glad you got to do the halo theme. This cover means a lot to the guys. They put their hearts into it. 💛💛
Geoff is performing something called a 'pedal tone' normally done in instrumental music. you hold one note against all the other moving parts. JS Back was a master at this, as well as anything else he touched.
Your beatbox discussion is stellar and so greatly appreciated.
Yes, Layne is a force that VoicePlay would find impossible to replace. And the thing some folks don't realize is that he also sings throughout most of their videos to fill out the soundscape. When he has a featured solo part, everyone loves it because his voice has a particularly unique sweet tone.
I have met and bonded with some of the best people through games. One of my best friends of almost 8 years now i met through playing games. It’s amazing.
Also Lan parties are very mutch a thing still. You just gotta know where to look.
When this came out it was the first time we heard Geoff hit a B0. And the first we heard Cesar with that kind of overtone singing. I remember practically falling to pieces over it - at least until Scott sobered me up in the outro.
Hi Klown, thank you for picking this track to react to and analyse! I suggested it a while back (and wasn’t the only one, I’m sure). I’m so glad you like it, too. See you again soon!
The BTS video was entertaining watching them put this together. One of the many perks of being a patron. I actually played HALO with my son on PC. I still get teary eyed at the end.
For Cesar’s high fade note, my understanding is that he slid from an E4 to an E5 and then in post they did a pitch bend to take his voice up to and E6 as they faded him out.
Took you less then 9 seconds to realize you were not ready. Now you are one of us, none of us are ready for this.
Thanks! I like when you share your own stories - and your knowledge of beatbox too, of course 🙃✌️
After hearing you say several times that you like instrumental music, I now felt I should share these links with you.
Dirty Loop's song is not only instrumental, but mostly. And considering how much you like beat, drums and skills, I think you will love them. (And if you get them on the channel, their entire fanbase will come 😇) And they are from here in Sweden, as well 🙃

How did you manage to post links? Every time I do, my comment gets deleted. 💙
@@DravenGal I don’t know 🙃 Yesterday, on an other reactor, it get deleted after a while. We will se if that’s the story here to 😇🙏
@@noomiandtheangels Good luck!💙
@@DravenGalyou can post links on my videos :) youtube gives an option to turn links off in comments
@@KlownMusicReacts Oh! Thanks for the info. Good to know. Loving your reactions.💙
The best bonding times with my four children was playing Halo, Red Faction, Mortal Kombat, etc. So much laughter! So much smack talk! I miss it so much, now that they are grown and raising the next generation of gamers. I, have, however, never stopped. I am on my fourteenth year of RPG gaming. Notably, Skyrim since release.
Thanks for watching to the end of the monologue. Too many reactors miss the message at the end
Love your reaction and analysis! You’re an extremely talented beatboxer! I never tire of this video! It’s one of my favorites from Voice Play!
I would recommend you to watch two Voiceplay videos - Just Sing (where they they feature most people they have ever collaborated with, including several beatboxers) and Death of a Bachelor (duo of Geoff with Earl Elkins - high tenor, one of establishing members - where Geoff beatboxes as well)
The high notes can be Eli or Cesar, they are both capable but I think that was Cesar. He does some whistle notes in their The Lion Sleeps Tonight. VP also did a video of various early video games. ACA Top 10 Video games. You might find it amusing.
Super interesting getting a pro beat boxer's insight on Lane!
I am so happy listening to you do your reactions. Went on your channel to find your music and couldn’t. Please let us know when you get it going and when you get your Patreon set up.😊(oh by the way the featured guy, Scot Porter, was the former beatboxer for the group)
3:50 Eli finally moves into head voice. Please don't hurt yourself trying to hit that note; you are not a high tenor. Eli is one the best male singers in that range.
Is it your chair's birthday? 😆💙
Haha no but it was mine. He had put that on the chair for the live stream for my birthday.
@@shelleeroe Nice! Hope it was a good one!💙
@@DravenGal oh it was fantastic. Haha hands down best so far. I’m excited for when the newest song comes out too.
@@shelleeroe From Voiceplay? Oooh, I know, I love the new one! And I'm so happy to see HER back! In my mind, she is an honorary member of Voiceplay. Omar too. And Anthony is about two videos away, the way I see it. (Which is probably weird, but I never ever claimed to be normal!) I also really hope we get more with Jose...maybe even a NON-seafaring song, LOL!!! He's such a lovable rogue! 💙
@@DravenGalI love Jose in his minis with Voiceplay and they are less nautical 🛶 🏴☠️ 😂 but yes 100% need to get Jose back around.
Great reaction and good discussion on some of the benefits of games. I wish online games these days prompted as much fellowship, friendship, and comradery as "ye ol' LAN parties" did back in the day!
I just got out of the hospital this last week and while I was there, I had a really great nurse who felt bad bc nobody was there for me...he is your age Klown, and he brought me his Xbox 360 so I could play Assassin's Creed and we played CoD while I was getting chemo (and listening to dnb!)
This really hit me hard and I won't lie I cried hard bc I don't have that kind of circle but it was so nice for the staff to take the extra time to get to know me. He said although I was the same age as his mother, she would never be a gamer and listen to music like I do...I'm comfortable with where I am now, the small 'tribe' that has opened their arms to me ❤
Scott porter is not only an actor but he can also beatbox, he was also a former member of 4:5 which was there original name
Fun reaction! Thanks
That bass note at the end you are hearing is a subharmonic B0. There is also one at the start.
🔥
You definitely should check out the video comments- and not just the pinned one. 😊
Thanks for this! Really needed the good vibes today
