I cant help but think of my family going through all my guitar stuff when im gone. They dont know the difference between my super expensive gear from my junk. I think im going to inventory everything in a notebook for them. Yep, that’s definitely what im going to do.
If you don’t use it,lose it. Do it yourself.
@@FYMASMD
I use every piece of gear i own. By “junk” i was referring to my less expensive stuff.
Yup.. that’s what recently I did.. cataloged everything ..even took pictures of stuff of like gear being sold on Reverb/eBay etc.and put it in the guitar cases.. amp backs etc.
when I started doing it I was amazed how some of the stuff had appreciated over the years ..wow!
You remember the old saying ‘if something happens to me, I hope my wife doesn’t sell my guitars for what I told her I paid for term’ lol
@@ronluckenbach9492
I Absolutely know what you mean.
In fact, as I was writing it i made sure to notate the date, because i may forget about it for 10 yrs, stuff apreciates. I also left info on who gets which guitar. I have a couple old Les Pauls worth at least $5-$6k a piece. Who knows what it’ll be like in 10 yrs.As nice as this guy here is, i don’t want my shit to end up in a stranger’s hands for a fraction of what it’s worth.
🙏 I SINCERELY AGREE WITH EVERY STAMEMENT AND REALLY THIS ENTIRE SERIES OF VIDEOS HAS REALLY MADE ME TAKE STOCK ON LIFE AND MY GEAR ESPECIALLY YOUR LAST COMMENT IS WHAT MADE ME COMMENT...THANKS FOR SUMMING UP ALOT OF OTHERS THOUGHTS IM SURE
Zimm is such a cool and positive guy. So refreshing to watch his videos!
RIP Joey, hope you're still wailin' on the other side!
SansAmp, translated from the French gives us "without amp", it's an amp simulator dating back to around 1990, and which is still in production. Tech 21 make a variety of units, most recently the FlyRig series.
Cool Systech pedal! Made in the same building as the RAT. Frank Zappa used them. Vintage, worth a fair bit.
That SysTech pedal might be a pretty rare beast. From what I can tell, it looks like a transition model between their earlier (and pretty sought-after) Harmonic Energizer and the final version of their Overdrive pedal. All the controls on your unit are from the Harmonic Energizer but the branding is for the Overdrive (The final version of the Overdrive had controls for "EQ," "Distortion," and "Gain") so I would guess that yours is an initial attempt to produce a less harsh version of the HE that eventually they would eventually evolve into a whole new pedal.
Has Josh Scott snatched it up yet? I’m predicting a JHS recreation within the next two years.
After playing for 40 years, arthritis has made my hands unusable for guitar playing. After 5 years of getting over that I finally sold off 95% of my stuff. Better for me to do it than leaving it to family who don’t know anything about the equipment. Instruments need to be played. It was heartbreaking but there are a bunch of players out there loving my stuff. And I ended up with 20k in the bank. Of course I had way more into it than that. Don’t take anything for granted.
Wilkinson Deluxe Vintage 6 On-A-Strip reissues fit this 1448 Silvertone, with a a little grinding on end of strip, to fit contour of headstock point and reaming for new ferrals.
Get a staggered height set made mine so much better 👍
That is a Silvertone from the 1400's series, most likely a 1448 model released in the 1960's. The design is very similar to that of the Danelectro Shorthorn.
Joey's gear couldn't be in better hands, I'm really happy to have found your channel. I subscribed during the first locker video and can't wait for the journey of all of these repairs and upgrades. !!
Joey who??? I've been dying to know who's gear that was!

I got the video from another guy's comment who recognizing the gear@@micheleparker3780
Hey I have the same Silvertone. The glitter sits on top of the finish so it will rub off if polished too hard. They were sold with an amp built into the case(mine was missing). The pickup sounds really cool
I refurbished one of these too……it’s from 1963. They sold for $70 with the three watt tube amp built into the guitar case. Five inch speaker…….
Those old Silvertone by Danelectro had an odd style tuner set. Depending on the year produced, it may have left the factory without a nameplate as was common after 1967.
Those knobs do basically what a wah wah pedal does. Its just a bandpass filter eq. with a variable width. I like that thing. Good and gnarly sounding.
As someone mentioned before, I would like to hear more about “Joey” and his music career! Fascinating video! Thanks!
Two videos back its the first comment
Joey Trujillo is his name. He was obviously a very well respected musician and very well liked man because a lot has been posted online about him after his death. Here's to Joey 🍻
Brother-the enthusiasm is more than we deserve. Mucho appreciato!
Hey Dane! Your channel is really taking off!! That’s awesome!
Hope it continues 👍😃
Just saw this video.
Congratulations on the find.
Were you allowed to see the contents before buying the locker?
WoW digging these! 🤘🏼
The Sansamp pedal is a tube amp emulator.
I bought a GT2 in the mid-90's and still love it . Don't use it all the time , but she's something that I always come back to .
Behringer’s “Tube Amp Modeler” is a clone of the GT2. Great little pedal for 29 bucks.
Yep, made by Tech 21 NY.
I have 2 of their Trademark 60 amps. They're solid state but during breaks people comment on how great my tube amp sounds!
Yeah, Dave, the Systec pedal is overdrive + cocked wah. The knobs control the width and position of the filter. Really nice score!
Wow, that's a lot of awesome stuff you got there (and junk at the end too lol) .
I think the biographical info about Joey Trujillo said that his first guitar was a Silvertone. That could be it.
14:45 welcome to the machine!
I don't know if anyone beat me to it but Reverb has a Sans Amp classic used for $238.
Btw you were right. The best episode of Storage Wars ever.👍
The Seymour Duncan cabinet is from an 84-40 amp.
I have an acoustasonic amp and the reverb never worked even brand new. you can hear it if you hit the amp chassis so the tank is working on mine but its not sending the signal through.
i like the ending as well. LOL
Has Rick Beato subscribed yet? This channel is right up his alley!!!🥰
That's hilarious 😂
Kool Dane wasn't there a 4x12 speaker cabinet there??,Cheers!
Those two Guyatone Overdrives, if he had two of them they were probably like the foundation of his tone. Or was, before he got those rack mount rigs.
that overdrive pedal is super cool. if that center frequency had a wah-controller it would be awesome
The SansAmp Classic is a distortion pedal with only four knobs that give rise to nearly countless permutations of tone or sound. Starting with three preamp styles, Marshall-style, Mesa... and as far as I can tell they sell for about $350 - $400
The reason they sell for that price is because Kurt Cobain used one during the In Utero era.
A user manual is available on the Tech 21 website:
www.tech21nyc.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/SansAmp_Classic_OM1.pdf
sansamp is a amp modeler
Those sound tanks ts pedals are some nostalgic candy to me. Had one back in 90 something. Great stuff
The SansAmp is a tube Amp emulator. It comes with a adapter plug for power. New they list for about $240.
Pretty cool, it's like that gear was waiting for you to come rescue it!
I dig all ur Stuff.i myself got excited when ur Amps, pedels kicked on. I pick up Vintage stuff all the time.i really like Collecting .thanks for sharing....lio Galveston
And now that old Gibson factory in Kalamazoo is The Heritage guitar factory, owned and operated by the former Gibson employees that chose to stay in Kalamazoo.
Heritage has some great looking guitars. I'm sure that they play well too.
@@fishingfreak9734,
Indeed, they do. Their H-150 is my favorite guitar, in my collection.
I am playing through an acoustic amp at present.... I have have been impressed what I had can't afford a nicer amp.... I do have a few pedals and a Zoom rack mount multi effects processor...that was gifted nothing to gig...but practice Worthy....Need a good Tube amp someday maybe.
you have the cables in the right way on that pedal?
what about the speakers and the amp rack/ great video. i love this stuff. my band had all this kinda stuff in the 70s. twin reverbs, i had a musicman 212 hd 130 and used a marshall 212 with it
That Systech Overdrive is rad!
Sans amp if I remember right was designed by Tom Sholz of Boston. I had one back in the day
The tube screamer need to be used along with a distortion pedal to give the best effect
what a score Zimmy !!!
I looked all over the web and can't find that particular Systec overdrive pedal... but to me... it almost sounds like a flanger-type pedal???
I think I heard you say what was that sansamp box.... are you serious? and you own a guitar shop?
Everything you pulled from that storage unit had resale value. Granted, some of it needs a little TLC. But even that tan Samsonite suitcase was vintage, and people collect it. That stage light was a real find, too, definitely worth researching and not "giving" it away. New lighting like that is really pricey and good condition vintage lights have value.
This is some great gear, glad it's in good hands! I'll be down in the PHX area soon can't wait to see some of this stuff.
The Overdrive is a Systech Overdrive made in the 70's. Looks like the Systech sticker fell off over the years ✌
interesting to see whats inside storage lockers. some cool stuff, some junk.
potential to hit the jackpot with one is evr present... and very exciting i think!
Sansamp was basically an early amp modeler, but analog
Tech 21 SansAmp Classic Tube Amp Emulator Pedal $330 at Sweetwater good score if it works.
Can't you combine the Fender amp without the speaker with the Seymour Duncan Speaker without the amp? :D
The Silvertone is made by Danelctro. The body is pressed sawdust basically. Can be fun.
The body/rim is plywood, the top and back are hardboard, the white sides are tape. Much fun indeed!
Zimm zimm zeree, Zimm Zimm ziiruu, guitars are my game and I like what I do!🎶🎸😎
I can't say if the Duncan was made of that same Quadraverb because of an old deal. Namastè.
If these were in the storage Locker, imagine what was in his house! Now if you could find out the previous owners address and contact the family. This gear he held on to for a reason. A back story would be nice. Maybe find out what bands he was in. What shows he might have done. This is not a beginner guitarist!
What about the Vox Tonelab you required from the locker??
Cool ass locker dude great channel
Lot of players use those old Silvertone/Dan Electros for electric slide.
Dane, as I recall, the SansAmp was an analog speaker cabinet simulator. This was done by filtration -- essentially a fancy eq curve. At one time, there was this technology, something called the RedBox Cabinetulator, and little else. I never had any of this tech, so this is all I know.
sansamp is a modeler
@@rickthaler An analog modeler - but yes, a modeler for sure. That's the way they made them back in the day. I don't know how Tech 21 does it today.
the same is still available as well as a deluxe version which just gives you some extra dip switches...not sure about the difference asi never played one/..both available at sweetwater...@@edwinstovall3334
Love your vids. Glad i found it.
Silvertone electric guitars of that era were made by Dan-Electro !
yes.. I have my first Silvertone 1961 dolphin nose guitar and I finally recently bought a near perfect 1481 amp on reverb.. tgat was my first amp. The tone of that amp is incredible ..often (and quite correctly )compared to a vintage Fender Champ.
The amp had a sticker on it
Joey Trujillo - He just passed away.
Wait! Was that a vintage microwave science oven? It was perfect for the Hottt Pockets 3rd degree lip burns. Circa 1973.
cool stuff, but now you can a electronics before and after video. cool stuff at Zimm's
Josh Smith a JHS pedals could tell you about the pedals . He has a RUclips channel.
that samsamp is the one kurt cobain used
Did you get the case amp for the Silvertone?
You got a lot of cool stuff. That sans Amp pedal is an early Amp Sim. Kurt Cobain used them later in his career
Looking forward to the restore videos!
Fender in Calazoo Michigan??😂😂😂😂😂😂
Excellent.
Just read Joey Trujillo’s obituary…. awesome story.. only 69, died of cancer. 😢R.I.P. Joey🙏🏻
Sans Amp amp or cab modeler. Kurt Cobain had one that he used basically like a distortion pedal. The company is currently making a comeback and making these again.
I think that sansamp pedal is a preamp kinda pedal.
I wanna hear that rack mount rig!
Hit those pedals with some Deoxit-9
It's needed a little TLC and lots of cleaning and upkeeping.
Thanks For Sharing ✌
Judis Priest Belt, lol
Dave, I enjoy your videos so much. Someday I love to meet you in person.
Hi Dane. Great videos. New sub here. Thanks!
You can google the guy - "Remembering Phoenix guitar hero Joey Trujillo"
Looks like it was cancer. Did anyone know him?
didn't Kurt Cobain use one of those Sansamps as his distortion? if its original, it may be worth some hundreds...i think i looked those up on reverb a while back and they were pricey...
The Sans Amp is an amplifier in pedal form , been around for years and is a quality piece of gear used bye quite a few players at one time
Here I am a drummer yelling at RUclips at 6am to pick up the cordless drill next to it and blip the pickup.... Sigh and you have VH guitars. LOL!
BTW, I think Joey is more famous now from your Vids. ;-(
DONT LEAVE A FOOTPRINT BROTHER!!
The SansAmp by Tech 21 has always been produced here in the US for decades. The company stopped its production in 2016 but it was reintroduced in the market in 2021.
I would refer to that pedal as an amp emulator and it was used by Kurt Cobain to create his signature grunge sound taking advantage of the flat output delivered by the pedal.
Cheers!
Sansamp is a great pedal/amp sim as well. People have been using them for years for a reason. As for Cobain using one, he did yes, but only for a short period before he died, most of his famous tones come from a standard Boss distortion.
@@seanmckelvey6618 yes, Cobain experimented with other pedals and he probably didn't use the SansAmp for recording but he used it in the beginning of Nirvana.
To bad the Silvertone didn’t have its case with the built in amplifier.
I think the bass looks like a Danelectro from Denmark.
The factory was in Neptune, New Jersey, USA. Danelectro made "Silvertone" brand instruments for Sears.
The Spanish guitar may be worth a lot more than you think
Pretty sure the Ultra is special because of the PIEZO pickup. How long have you been collecting? If you need an expert, reach out to me 🙄😂
Guitar center is trash nowadays(last 10-15 years) need cool shops like yours.
🤟😁👍Cool video. Do more.
Hey ROCK DADDY! Hope you are having a great day 👍😃
The sansamp is a overdrive/distortion pedal. Kurt Cobain was the most famous user of this pedal.
Systech Over drive pedal
I missed the Vox amp I guess.
Boost pedal
The body is fiberglass
(The guitar)Working electronics? It's got scratchy electronics is what it's got! Hit those pots with some deoxit dude.
SansAmp is an old amp simulator. Should go with a speaker sim like a Palmer.
