I remember that storyline. It was one of the best Superman stories. I love how Gary Frank draws Superman. He's one of my favorite artists for him!

As much Brainiac can calculate Superman's mental state in any situation he still doesn't understand why Clark considers earth his home his perspective is vastly different from the reader

Also, I never understood why DC retconed the story of why Krypton exploded from natural disaster to Brainiac did it. Brainiac was already an OP'd foe of Superman's. Brainiac didn't need a greater mythos to be looked at as a powerful being or one of Superman's most formidable foes. The retcon just makes it more personal between Superman and brainiac.

also little did super man knew that braineacs mind is allways backed up on his ship or very hiden home base thast inside a super massive black hole as a signleaty bunker thats is ready to be put into a newly cloned and cybernecly enanched body every time they dies. but this is when at the same time when braniac after being revied from there ship or HQ base is also the exact same time is when they starts to ponder what hunamty does to make super man react that way in such a manner.
imo this is how superman stories should be written not like I hate others I also love them but it's just the best way imo
This is the best superman comic. An amazing story. Brainiac was an amazing and a terrifying villian in this. I hope superman: legacy takes inspiration from this.
With the exception of cutting out the sad ending and also adding on a quick character arc involving Supe's his relationship with Lois, The movie adaptation, 'Superman Unbound' did a really good of adapting the comic near perfectly.
Braniac's plan for Supergirl involves him capturing her and artificially impregnating her over and over again so she can give birth to the perfect Kryptonian warrior in order for Brainiac to create an army.
Not gonna lie that sounds more like a writers fetish then anything seems like cloning her then genetically altering the clones with different kinds of DNA to see what works best would be more efficient and yield more consistent results

How is Krypton destroyed only 35 years ago in this universe? Even in the first movies JOR-EL had been dead for thousands of years by the time KAL-EL's pod reached Earth. KAL-EL is an infant or toddler still because of wormholes and such (relativity, man).

Yeah, this was a good arc. It basically retcons Brainaic , though . And I’m not really sure if Superman’s father had to die . That felt sort of unnecessary. But it was good , otherwise .
He usually dies from a heart attack in numerous Superman runs

@@DebiTelos The reason why Superman is such a boy scout is due to his parents rising him to be a good person. Now, if he crosses that line and kills, he becomes a monster. It happened many times, usually due to his father or Louis dying. He isn't a good guy by nature, just happened to crash in a good place.

You’re acting like these superhuman aliens don’t spontaneously push their limits all the time whenever their emotions become enraged. Literally no different than what Superman does all the time. Break his “limits” when the occasion necessitates it. They would never let the main universe die so easily, that’s what alternate universes are for.

As much as I enjoyed this video, the amount of commercials was unbelievably annoying.
Difference between reality or maybe something from out of the past, and Brainiac template matrix the original one if there is only one original version especially if the multiverse is always being rewritten which causes a fundamental change in any program of his story and Kryptons legacy involvement in the same, and based on other stories of Brainiacs origin from what has come before from tv and Superman comics? His original source story is a mixture of myth and even Krypton lore and his family like Brainiac 5 and Lex Luthor and oddly strange twist in the future and past history includes Darkside?
Brainiacs past and impact in a different future on a multitude of levels has yet to be seen but the first Brainiacs has perhaps to truly have his own comic The Brainiacs!

The funny thing is Braniac does get her in multiple timelines involving the Legion of Superheroes.
They don't ever remain a couple as Supergirl returns to her timeline and timelines are erased by various crises.

But a later iteration of Brainiac in the future era of DC is not villainous at all, though.

I mean, he did. It's actually stupid and unimaginative to pretend that he didn't. He didn't predict how his biology had fully changed in it's new environment. He assumed he'd already assimilated all there was to offer from them and failed to imagine that complexity of change, but it's hard to write that without it sounding dumb so they imply it instead. And Batman could figure him out - the problem is that he is simple too simple for many to understand. It's a problem with writing a super-smart character in a world of crazy aliens and superpowers, a better version of the story would have shown how he'd improved himself and become an ever greater version of himself. It's unnecessary to make him every kind of foil for superman making him also full of contradictions but in ways the narrative doesn't support, like being a racial supremacist -except he's alone, so why would he care about that instead of valuing evolution. DC in general doesn't do well with that kind of character (look at most of what they do with Batman).
Smarter doesn't mean not arrogant, or worn by time though.

is this a comic meant to be red by anyone from8 and up or is this a book rated M for mature readers. A big part of the problem with modern comics is the lack of restraint the creative staff displays. Perhaps a variant of the comics code should be restored to the media.
It's not that I don't get it's traumatic for her but it's vastly different. If she had no powers cool, but with her powers, those robots are just fodder. Braniac himself would have to come and unless he's dampening their powers he'll get folded.
She was too traumatized to focus on her power, it seems. An Achilles heel if you will. Nearly any other threat wouldn’t be that deeply personal.
