Fun fact: the Batman ending is cannon to the game HOWEVER, there was a comic book sequel that is cannon to the Superman ending. Injustice vs masters of the universe, where he-man is discovered by Katana and brought to earth to stop Superman once and for all. And yes, it is fucking amazing and concludes the injustice storyline per the Superman ending. Def recommend worth reading!

I think it should let the players decide like when you load up the campaign it asked you what ending you chose for the 2nd game and If you chose either superman or batman the campaigns are different

@Emihle Dlephu I actually always viewed batman to be the representation of obsession, just channeled in a slightly more healthy way. Consider that most of batmans foes ended up locked in arkham asylum. They are studies in what happens when obsession turns to madness and destructive urges. Batman is obsessed and honestly somewhat crazy in his own way. That obsessive drive is what has made him great, but could have just as easily broken or twisted him.
Superman, on the other hand, has always more been a study on "does absolute power have to corrupt?" Superman obviously in injustice is faced with what happens should his power fail him and he suddenly has to deal with feelings of helplessness and fragility like everyone else. And don't get me wrong, it's done fairly well. However superman is supposed to be an ideal. A representation that you can have power and yet not be corrupted. Consider his arch villain is lex luthor. A man who is very much the epitome of being corrupted by power and a very example of how much power in the wrong hands can go astray.
So yes, seeing superman corrupted always feels to me like a cheap attempt to be like "see? no one can avoid corruption if they have that much power" type of thing. Whereas I prefer to imagine there could be such a being. One that has supreme power and yet doesn't seek to be a jerk with it, but rather seeks to be an inspiration.

Superman used to be just some random good naive dude in a random cornfield that discovered that he has powers... what would you think he will do do? Of course use it for good. He has always been human on the inside that's why despite his powers he can breakdown. Despite his powers he still has a job. Despite his powers he feels... human. Unlike batman, most of us didn't lose our parents in such a tragic way that it made us into a dark and secretive person. Superman is most of us good people if we have powers...

When I saw Supes destroying the Fate helmet with his hands I was like "Ok this version is super fucking OP". He's basicallly destroying something that should be his weakness.

Actually, there is a comic book mashup between Masters of the Universe and the Injustice 2 timeline, where Damian Wayne, Zatanna, Cyborg and Starfire recruit He-Man, Duncan, and other warriors from Planet Eternia to stop Superman after Injustice 2.

@Hussein Abbas I disagree. In real life, the United States is one of the only 1st world country still killing tons of people for committing crimes. A lot of these people were innocent. And some of the guilty ones, I disagree with killing. one of them was a prostitute who was abused since she was a child, and she started killing any of her clients who tried to hurt her or rape her while she was prostituting.
If you decide to kill the Joker, you are killing many innocent people along with him. And you will be adding more negativity into the world.
There will always be an excuse to kill someone, but that's just an excuse.

Batman's refusal to kill is exactly why the Joker is his perfect arch nemesis. At the core of their philosophies, the Joker believes that everybody in the world is just as sick and twisted as him. It only takes 1 bad day to send them down the path of madness. Batman, on the other hand, believes that criminals are a product of their environment, rather than something they are inherently predisposed to. By refusing to kill them, he's giving them the opportunity to reform themselves and become better people. If either the Joker or Batman were to kill each other, it would invalidate their beliefs. Joker killing Batman would be an admission that he was not able to corrupt him, and thus society is not predisposed to insanity, while Batman killing Joker would be an admission that some people are beyond redemption, and that Injustice's Superman actually had a valid point. Batman and Joker need each other to serve as a constant reminder of what they're fighting for.

I think part of the reason Batman kind of needs the Joker is that he needs them as a reminder what he could become. This is why Batman never kills and why Zack Snyders Batman sucks.
Batman is very well aware of his dark side, which is why he keeps people around who constantly serve as his external conscience. Alfred, James Gordon, Barbara Gordon/Oracle... all people that help him keep his moral compass straight. And he is also aware that killing someone might mean the proverbial bad day for him, turning him into the killer he does not want to be, while that killer is a vital part of him.
Zack Snyders inspiration were the Frank Miller Comics he read when he was 12 years old, which are AllStar comics and not even exactly canon. And Frank Miller always was a bit insane, just as his comics are. Batman would never brutally execute men he could easily decapacitate and he would surely not walk around with an assault rifle, shooting people left and right or crush enemies with the Batmobile.

in this version sperman doesn't have that weird power that puts an energyfield around things he touches so in this version. if he were to support the entire weight of the ship on a point as small as his hands he'd just end up going right through it he wouldn't stop the momentum at all. would be like trying to catch a basketball on the tip of a sword but scaled up 1000 times

This goes for superman returns in 2006 when he stops the falling airline from hitting the ground in the baseball park. Although the nose section did crumple a bit, same thing would have happened, he'd have ripped straight through the plane.

I liked this ending, not because it was inevitably the real outcome without a cliche kryptonite exploit, but because it opens up Multiverse path again for Injustice 3 with MK characters and other guests from several Fighting Games.

His argument is that this Superman is still Superman at his core, with the combat experience and heroic persistence. I argued that he is unfocused, not all good or all evil, and Ultraman is much more proficient at going for the kill shot.

@@Idazmi7 Did you read Forever Evil? Ultraman wrecked Black Adam in seconds, mangling his jaw for good measure to keep him from summoning his lightning bolt. Most of the time I've seen Ultraman fight its to suppressed, because being challenged makes him look weak. The only time it drags out is if the opponent is that strong, like Superman himself or Mazahs.

That's why this ending makes the most sense: Batman lost.
They explained in the first game that he developed an enzyme with Lex Luthor to give him and the rest of the people who sided with him the durability of Superman so they wouldn’t be so easily killed when fighting their superpowered ex-friends.
Stories are written by Humans... they don't have super powers... so of course we'd be biased to write a human character at their full potential can defeat anybody with any outlandish powerset because Humanity should be enough. These kinds of things are fantasy fulfillment for humans who are not at their best to become bigger and better through another being we can live vicariously through, who we can most relate.

But genetically modified superhumans with incredible intellect, and unbelievable resources are too out of this world.(As the guy above you noted Batman and his gang aren’t even human anymore they’re superhumans at that point, Alfred himself beats up Superman once with the serum everyone took)
Regardless take into account if you throw out the “plot armor” you’re left with no plot.
I mean to be fair Batman is known for knowing Superman’s weakness that can be exploited. And it’s clearly shown that he partially disabled Superman’s powers

6:50 Brainiac has a bad habit of somehow getting distracted constantly, and even when hes not distracted hes just dumb, sees superman incapacitated and clearly in pain on the throne and walks up, stands there, and goes "Relinquish my ship!" and then just continues standing as if he thinks superman will do it
Or how he was about to crush Batman's neck but then just threw him a few feet to relatively safety. Classic villain move.

I'm a 70's and 80's kid. I've never been a fan of seeing my classic heroes do evil things. It genuinely makes me feel uneasy.
Though I suppose it could teach one that even our greatest heroes can be flawed, can be wrong, can go bad. It is true to life, if nothing else.

My theory is that Brainiac's consciousness is secretly encoded in the ship, so Superman thinks he killed him but he's really alive in his mind, altering his thoughts, sabotaging him from the inside out. He says he killed him but there was never a death scene. I feel like that's where the next Injustice will draw from
There is a sequel to the Superman ending, a comic book called Masters of the Universe vs. Superman. In it He-Man and his allies arrive to Earth to end Superman's regime once and for all.
I haven't gotten around to reading it.
Sometimes playing these Injustice games really makes you wonder why Superman did not get the good uncle Ben speech: Great Power comes Great Responsibility.

Right. But the lives that Joker has maimed, injured or taken is to some extent Batman's responsibility. Because Batman refuses to end a permanent threat, despite having multiple chances of doing so. A bigger question must therefore be asked, is one's ideals of greater importance than the lives of those you wish to protect?
What about that high-school girl who no longer has a face because the Joker cut it off? She turned to a life of crime because of him. By Bruce sparing one life, do you know what that girl lost? Her future. Bruce essentially doomed any victim the Joker would mutilate in the future by refusing to kill him. What about the woman Joker raped for shits and giggles? Or the baby he put in a blender?
The Joker's whole philosophy is to corrupt people. To him, all it takes is "one bad day" and you can become as bad as him. That's what he did to Superman. All of this could've been avoided had Batman possessed the will to kill someone.
Prison exists for isolation, reformation and rehabilitation, but of men the likes of Joker there is no rehabilitation. Redemption is a special thing, and sometimes it's not for everyone. The Joker has literally been given a lifetime of chances to redeem himself every time Batman captures him, but the Joker never does.
