lol man this game got me to love the dodge viper, made it my fave car, played this game over and over from 1996 (when I was 14) So much that now (im 29) I have a 2001 Dodge Viper GTS sitting in my garage :)
All this fantastic data made these early NFS games a form of encyclopedia for car guys, in my case a car kid :) Back then they knew how to light a fire in gamers and keep it lit for years to come ! I will forever keep this game in my heart....
3:07-3:56 - the reason 7 year old me fell in love with the Viper and discovered a passion for cars in general more than 25 years ago and still do to this day. So stoked I found this gem of a video after so long. I'll own one myself one day.
This is too cool! I had been thinking about this game for awhile now. I’m on my 7th Viper and this exact clip is largely responsible for getting me hooked. Nothing touches a Gen 1/2 Viper to this day when it comes to purity and adrenaline.
LOL. That sounds almost exactly like me. I was 15 when this game came out and it made me fall in love with the viper. I just couldn't resist those curves. Been a viper fanatic ever since. I don't have one at the moment but I'm planning to buy a GTS soon.
i miss this game....very accurate info except for a few things: they never made the gen 1 viper in blue. only colors for 92 which this claims to be was red. the torque is actually 465 ft lbs. i have a 94 rt/10 and the owners manual shows the performance specs
I think they used Photoshop or a similar editing software like Corel to paint it in blue. Never realized of that till you mentioned, but you can see same pictures of the car painted in blue and red in the game. They may did this to give a variety in colors to the group of cars. 3DO and PC versions would not let you change the color of the car, then PSX version did.
@Big gay man 420 Nope. The original, 400HP RT/10 from '92-'95 could only go 160-165. I have no idea where you got that number, as the '08-'11 Viper topped out at 202, & the '13-'17 hit 208.
@Dan Deluca Viper had many versions partner....there were the EU spec '92-95 Vipers with "only" 394hp/420ft-lb (I knew a guy in Poland with a '95 R/T-10 in black w/white stripes as a kid), at that time the US had 400hp even with 450-465ft-lb torque. Later on (1995 & up) the R/T-10 had the '96 GTS Coupe rating of 465ft-lb and 450hp. Not trying to tell you about your car just saying there was more then one version out there. But then again games rarely get the specs right....
@@DaGhostChild No way in hell that Ferrari would allow their car to be anything but Rosso Corsa if they had the chance. And Ferrari are a much more established performance car brand than Dodge was at the time (and still is of course). So Dodge would have just had to suck it up and make it blue.
Sound Dodge Viper RT/10 like a Muscle car sound, Btw Dodge Viper RT/10 has be appears in Films Viper defender The pursuit of Justice and game GTA PS2 has name car is "Banshee"
it's always viper and corvette that included in first NFS and gran turismo game, although the viper return 8 years later in NFS Hot pursuit 2 TBH,this is the real root of NFS,pick and race then chased by cops and listening why this car is important

Doug Demuro is reviewing one thank you so much for the nostalgia loved need for speed one and this Viper too CLASSIC :)
Haha, that's why I'm here.
I came here from his video.
Not seen his review yet, but I came here first as I'm still in love with all the great supercar presentation (and amazing music) in NFS1

Hilarious presentation and music!! Whoever wrote these texts deserved a raise... XD

I played this game for... I dunno, thousands of hours. Still the best NFS game ever I reckon, and not just because of the Viper.
What a game, epic!
Odd how we wouldn't see a Viper in Need For Speed again until Hot Pursuit 2...

Did you end up getting one?
This brings back memories, I have to find and play this game again. LOL that damn squeaky noise during the Viper's video. xD
I've watched this Viper video million times.
Never experienced such a great game after that.

It must be so cool to own one of these

Love this Viper
Man. This always makes me want a red Gen1.

This and the cockpit view is what made this game so special. Something that now a days is not in any racing games. (Ill give Forza 4 some credit)
Great!
I'd like a full length version of the song. X3
Did you downloaded this game? If you did, where did you get it from?
