    I really like the base model FTR Sport. I just started getting into motorcycles and I keep coming back to Indian. I think they make hands down the best looking motorcycles. So classic yet insanely modern. The build quality looks top notch. I’m a huge fan of the Scout. I love the simplicity of all these bikes. All powerful and designed well. Their entire lineup is so good.

    I heard one rip past me and caught up to him couples miles down the road. I couldn't believe how insanely good it sounded with an exhaust! I haven't shopped for a bike since I bought my 04 zx10r and this is what I want next!!

  • @damnice
    @damnice Год назад +8

    I've ridden my 2022 FTR standard for 2 years now. I did the full Toce exhaust system with Lloydz tune & this has been the best canyon carving bike I've ever had. ZERO issues, 1 recall on a coolant plug thingy that wasn't even an issue, & 2500 miles of canyon blasting fun later & all I can do is recommend this bike if you're wanting to get something like it. Mine doesn't have any of the screen tech/ride modes/etc. & you don't really need any of that stuff. But go for it if that's your thing or if you're making this your first bike & would be more comfortable with those riding modes, wheelie mitigation & traction control. I got the standard more for aesthetics than anything, the black & red is just classic & the old rectangular screen was an eyesore too. Also, knowing I was going to do the exhaust upgrades, paying for the Akropovic seemed like a pointless expense. Anyway, I've ordered the new Sport Chief now so I can go on some cross country trips, you CAN do it on an FTR but that doesn't necessarily mean you SHOULD lol. HMU if you have any questions, Indian is doing so many great things, can't recommend them enough.

      Is the gas tank being very low capacity really as much of a issue as everyone says it is?

    • @damnice
      @damnice Год назад +3

      @@mrballpython2105 It would only be a minor issue on long trips where somehow you found yourself at a gas station without the next being within 150 miles & you weren't packing an aux tank. Not many ppl are doing long hauls on FTRs. The only thing I don't like about the tank is how long it takes to fill completely because of the strange shape.

      how do you deal with the wind over 80mph. Or do you never go that fast.

    • @damnice
      @damnice 2 месяца назад

      @@anonjohnnyG The wind doesn't really affect me, the freeways here move around 80-90 mph depending on the day. I've only had 1 time where it was too windy to ride safely & that was with 30-40 mph winds with crazy gusts & I was on the Sport Chief which definitely catches more wind than the FTR.

    I test rode a pre-owned 2019 FTR - R (carbon) here in Portugal last week. Was blown away at the power, the speed, and nimbleness, and agility. The 2023s come in next month. I'll be getting a new Carbon!

  • @MISOGI98
    @MISOGI98 Год назад +5

    In my opinion, the Rally version is still the most interesting... a pity that it doesn't include the touch dashboard!

  • @tinman3586
    @tinman3586 Год назад +7

    So my take:
    The Rally and the base models look really good. The colors and style are an improvement over last year's models. The S model knocks it out of the park, that is a very cool, sporty looking FTR, it rivals the Carbon version from last year as far as aesthetics. The rounded, Ride Command dash is a big improvement over the old rectangular dash from last year. Not only in terms of features but style as well. The Carbon though is lacking. It does have the new dash, but it doesn't look nearly as good as the Carbon from last year despite being the most expensive version in this line-up. The colors are bland, and it lacks the Akrapovic exhaust.
    Were I made of money, I'd get the white sport version. Deck it out with the premium seat, carbon fiber parts including the headlight cowl, add the black Akrapovic exhaust, and add the Ohlins suspension and that would easily be the coolest FTR ever.
