The FTR is such an absolute blast to ride. Every single time I get on my 2022 S and twist the throttle, I instantly get the same ear to ear grin I got on the first test ride that convinced me I needed to buy one. Anyone on the fence about it - go ride one. It's all you'll need. You'll instantly be hooked like I was.

After owning and pushing a first generation KTM Super Duke 1290 R, the FTR Carbon Indian would be like a scooter. A good looking Indian for sure, yet mild vs SuperDuke or Tuono Factory 1100. European bikes galaxy levels superior.

@@countbrapcula-espana Oh, please! How many Flat Track Championships does Ducati have? You probably missed what FTR stands for. The FTR is to celebrate American Flat Track Racing. It has a somewhat traditional look and power band type - in an engine tuned for a degree of longevity on the street.
Ducati is okay for what it is but MV is so much better - both are more expensive and neither have a thing to do with American Dirt Track, nothing.
Your loads superior Euro Bikes are superior only if you speak so broadly that your statement has no actual meaning.
Beauty and value vary from person to person.
My first bike was in December of 1970, it was American, to this day I’ve never owned another American motorcycle. I’ve owned in excess of 25 bikes, all either Japanese or European. Street, trail, trials, motocross, factory purchased road racers and speedway, I’ve owned them all. There is no best motorcycle brand or type, the best motorcycle does not come from any on continent or country, the best motorcycle is not any one type of two stroke or four stroke or any one type of motorcycle because not one of these can be all to all people at all times in their lives.
When I hear someone make a statement that is so broad as yours, it only says to me that you are probably not well versed in motorcycling.

My wife just bought a scout bobber...when we were at the dealer they let me drive an FTR base model, 22, it was a pretty nice bike...i mean it didn't feel like it accelerated faster than the bobber, which was odd, but the front tire came up nice and it felt super solid and well built. It isn't as quick or flickable as a street triple, and on paper the Yami xsr900 should be in there, the kaw z900 should get honorable mention, and a couple others...
now i am no expert, but like why buy an FTR over a couple of the other options that often come in at a lower MSRP? 2 reasons, build quality, and even more so because it is the only flat track inspired ride on the market...its one of a kind, and other than the tail section looking a little fat cause of the gas tank it looks amazing...so its baffling to me why this year the Sport model has all this extra plastic and paint schemes that remove as much of that flat track look as possible...now it just looks generic...and if i gotta buy some generic bike i am gonna get the XSR cause its way cheaper way to look generic...like yea, there is the Champ edition and carbon, but out the door those are bouncing off 20 grand by the time taxs and setup and everything are added in...and like a Katana be 5 grand cheaper, several other options as well that would be quicker or handle as good or better...so like i was 80% sure i was gonna get a S model this next spring, but now what? to get the whole FTR experience i gotta drop to much money on a carbon....with a suspension better than i need...i really don't have that money...even the S model was at the fringes of what i could afford, so now it's like a 20% chance...and i am looking at couple other bikes...which i don't really want to do since my brother works at the Indian dealership and i grew up on Polaris sleds...
at this point i am just mad Polaris was so short sighted and killed the Victory brand rather than doing what they should have done and just used Victory to emerge into other segments and be little more cost effective to buy...give customers some more options, give engineers a place to experiment more and take chances...i dunno...guess i look at that new street triple or the CB1000R...i know next summer my 85 Honda SAbre doesn't have a prayer of keeping up with the wife on that Bobber so i gotta get something...
